Fika Swedish Café

Hattiesburg never knew it needed such a wonderful Swedish cafe until Fika arrived. Most of us country folk here in the south have never traveled to another country. I was born and raised here, but I’ve only been to maybe 4 different states at the most. I have however lived in Japan for four years and cafes there were always so clean, elegant and charming. It’s what I missed most after leaving Japan. Dalida (the owner to this magical place) has nostalgically brought back those experiences for me. Fika is not just a cafe that serves great coffee. It’s a place that encourages you to sit down and forget the outside world for as much time as needed. The food is different from anything we have in our area and everything is fresh and delicious! I definitely recommend getting the Fika roast coffee in the French press. Pair that with their Budapest Roll or Strawberry Cake (which Emily, one of the best bakers, has worked on and perfected) and you’ve got yourselves heaven in a mug... and on a plate. Give this place a try and you’ll love it! If you have any questions, Dalida is super nice and very informative about the coffee, entrees, desserts and anything else you might wonder about Sweden.

I ordered my husband's birthday cake from Dalida and we had zero leftovers! This was a first for us. It was the creamiest, most delectable, carrot cake that we or our guests ever had!! I hope we will be able to order cakes from Fika for all our special occasions.

Food is always amazing, and honestly pretty reasonably priced for how good it is. I normally get takeout, but the place has a real nice vibe for dine-in. Staff is always nice, too. Also definitely recommend the Swedish Meatballs. One of the staff recommended dipping half in the jam and half in the gravy, and it changed my life.

Excellent. Clean, bright, and modern decor. Swedish pour-over coffee is smooth and rich. Food is well-presented and scrumptious. Prices are perfect.

This is a great place for just a coffee, breakfast, lunch, a meeting, or a quiet workplace. In the heart of downtown, in a pretty location overlooking the train depot.

I have wanted to try Fika for a while, and I was not disappointed! The staff was very friendly, and I didn’t have to wait long for my delicious food. I ordered the lox on sourdough, and it tasted very fresh, and was also beautifully configured. All in all, a great first experience.

Such an amazing array of pastries and coffee to choose from. The pour over coffee is especially smooth. The employees are very kind, and the atmosphere is tranquil. I will definitely be back!!

This is the absolute hands down best food in hattiesburg. This restaurant would hold up in New Orleans no problem. Everything is fresh, the prices are fair and affordable, the staff is extremely pleasant. If my office wasn't 20 minutes away I'd be here every day. I love it. Always get the pierogi with spices, one of the open face sandwiches, and a scone with cream cheese and jam. Plus the coffee is AMAZING!

Another great unusual addition to the downtown Hattiesburg scene. The food was light, well seasoned and prepared. Lots of tastes & ingredients that will be new to many Hattiesburgians. Very knowledgeable friendly staff. Met the owner also, very personable and interesting young woman. Definitely a must try cafe.

Delicious spicy Reuben sandwich! Love knowing the 'kraut is made in house! Delicious chocolate pie, strawberry cake & assorted desserts. Hattiesburg is lucky to have such a unique place with a caring, sincere owner & staff! 💙💙💙

Breakfast was light, fresh and delicious. As someone who has had a lot of Danish cuisine, this reminded me of the flavors and textures they love so much. Will definitely return!

I LOVE everything about this place! The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. The atmosphere and the minimalist decoration create the perfect combination to have a great experience.

I’d been wanting to eat at Fika for some time and was finally able to stop in. The food was amazing (Swedish meatballs and oatmeal strawberry streusel), service was quick, and atmosphere is great! Will definitely return and bring others with me.

One of my new favorite places in town, Fika (pronounced "FEE-kuh) features a simple menu with delicious fresh-tasting ingredients. I love that the owner - who is so friendly and sweet - has brought a taste of Sweden to Hattiesburg in such a delightful little spot. The ambience is great; the decor is simple and hip. I highly recommend the Ost sandwich and the Swedish french press or a beautiful pot of blooming tea. I'll see you all next weekend!

Excellent homemade pastries, open-face Swedish sandwiches, and coffees and expresso drinks. Lovely little diversion from the usual fare in Hattiesburg.
