San Jose Mexican Restaurant

We ordered mixed fajitas and grilled jumbo shrimps and it were awesome! AWESOME! Highly recommended! Size of the dishes are so big!
Also, check bathrooms - they have so beautiful sinks!

After a long day's drive, we stopped in Weldon, NC (near Roanoke Rapids) at a motel and drove over to San Jose Mexican Restaurant for dinner. Irene ordered the chicken enchilada combo, which was simple and tasty.

Having read other reviews, I decided to order the fresh made Guacamole and the Pablano and Chicken Fajitas. The Guacamole was absolutely declicious, fresh made with Jalapeno peppers, onion, tomato, and chopped (rather than mashed avacado, it was the best I've ever had, and there was enough to take home a generous portion for tomorrow.

The main course was the Pablano and chicken fajitas. It came bubbling in the frying pan with onions, lots of melted cheese, pablano peppers, squash and other veggies along with a side of shredded cheese, sour cream, and pico de gallo, with another side of beans and rice. The pablanos were hot and fresh while the chicken was tender, not overcooked. Again, the portion was generous and will be served for supper tomorrow.

We'll stop here on our next trip through North Carolina just to eat at the marvelous Mexican restaurant, which is part of a small North Carolina chain. Enjoy!

We got the Parillada for two and it was enough food for at least 3 people! And a side of guacamole, possible the best restaurant guac I’ve ever had. The parillada was a mixture of beef, chicken, shrimp, and carnitas with sautéed mushrooms, peppers and onions. It was everything we could want, with plenty for dinner for both of us.

Some of the best Mexican food I have had in awhile. Love going here as often as possible.

Wow....had some creazy idea..about taking my own made tortillas and had them create asome tacos....these guys are open to make you happy..see this pics

No other place in this town has service and food this goid and constant. They go above and beyond every single time. I go often, even some times when I'm not even in the mood for Mexican food just because I know the food and service will be so good and they will make me feel very welcom. This place is very very well managed.

We had a take out here for lunch. They were very tasty and reasonably priced. A lot of choices in lunch menu.

I am so excited that I have found a Mexican restaurant that is the best!
When we walked in the door we were Seated at a table..Our drink orders were taken and menus given and chips and salsa were at the table for us to enjoy.

Our orders were taken and we were enjoying our drinks and chips and salsa.
Our meal then came very quickly and we were pleased that the plates were hot.
The food were fantastic and the server cam back to give us more drinks and to see if there was anything we needed .

Absolutely fabulous! Great decor and ambiance. All the staff is courteous and smiling. Margaritas were awesome, food was excellent. Top restaurant. Too bad we only pass by during vacation but we will definitely stop there again next year.

Had the Chipotle enchiladas and fried tilapia both were excellent

Driving back to MD from vaca in the keys and found some great reviews about San Jose Mexican Restaurant and we thought why not. Service was great and you must get the beef, shrimp and chicken bowl. Fantastic and it's enough for two. Glad we stopped and will keep on our radar for our future road trips.

San Jose is the best Mexican food you gonna find in Roanoke Rapids and surrounding areas. The food is always delicious. I would always come to San Jose when I would come visit my family but now that I live here I’m beginning to be a regular customer. If you have never tried it they will not disappoint. It’s the BEST! The staff is always on point, fast, and friendly.

I was a little apprehensive at first, because the restaurant is in a strip mall with the windows covered up... but this place is a hidden gem. Everything was great. The Burrito Ruleta was one of the best burritos I've had, and the house made hot sauce was awesome. Will definitely come back the next time I'm in the area. Highly recommend!

The food is great and the ambiance is very authentic Mexican. This restaurant is conveniently located off of I95 so perfect stop for quick bite while traveling. The service is very friendly, efficient and fast. My only complaint is that the food is oversalted to my taste. Everything else was perfect.

We have been loyal customers of San Jose for years. They have some of the best Mexican food in Roanoke Rapids. We never have to wait for a table, the wait staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive, and our food comes out quickly and is always delicious. Would highly recommend you patronize this wonderful business.

excellent food!!! We make a point to stay overnight in this area, just so we can have another wonderful dinner before we continue to go North the next day. This time we actual brought home salsa. It is wonderful until the next time!!!!
