Doss' Old Fashion Ice Cream

My wife and I had just finished up on looking at potential homes to buy and were looking to grab something to eat before calling it a day. Our real estate agent recommended Doss’ Old Fashioned Ice Cream and we figured old fashion style burgers and dogs would hit the spot. We pulled up at around 6pm on a Wednesday evening and the place wasn’t overly busy but was active. I ordered the Chicken Philly with Lettuce, Tomato and Jalapeños with Fries and my wife ordered the Footlong Hot Dog with Chili and Onions. The food was ready in about 20 minutes or so, was hot and delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. I found the Chicken Philly delicious and my wife loved the fact the her hot dog was a “proper red hot dog and the Chili was made correctly”. We will return.

Truly exceptional hospitality here! Mr. Doss (who personally took my order) & his employees were all very kind to me and provided wonderful, fast service.

They've got those old fashioned red hot dogs and they serve them hot on a toasted bun. The french fries are soft and fluffy on the inside but super crunchy and crisp on the outside. Very yummy food!

Also, beware of the double scoop ice cream - it's HUGE! I eventually gave up on trying to finish it after working on it for 50 minutes... no joke 😂

I get the impression that lots of love, dedication, and hard work is put into keeping this restaurant clean and equipped with all modern amenities while keeping its "vintage" sort of charm.

Anyway, my favorite thing about this place is how welcoming and kind the people and atmosphere are. I will definitely be coming back!

My chocolate malt shake and food were delicious. Loved the old fashioned atmosphere in the restaurant. Will be back.

Delicious hot dogs & crispy onion rings! Owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Over 30 ice cream flavors, including some sugar free, and everyone I've tried has been delicious. A "kiddee cup" is plenty. :)

This place has delicious classic hot dogs on a toasted bun. The footlong and perfectly crunchy fries combo is my favorite. They also serve other favorites like cheeseburgers, chicken, BBQ, and even bologna sandwiches. And of course old fashion ice cream! Great place for the whole family to eat.

Haven't been here in years and it just brings back memories of when me and my cousins were little and our grandpa use to take up here for some ice cream and a hotdog. Best place for a Footlong and fries and ice cream.

Great food and amazing Customer service!

Doss' is a wonderful old fashion kind a place to to the whole family for the best hamburgers and hotdog's and the best ice cream. The staff is super friendly.

Really great ice-cream and food! They have hotdogs, hamburgers, chuckwagon, fries, grilled cheese, and more! Fun atmosphere with clowns and a very cheerful and great place to eat at! They also have a really large selection of ice-cream flavors and can make milkshakes and banana splits too!

I absolutely loved stopping in here for a quick bite! The restaurant was very clean and had that old timey diner feel. The employers were friendly and delivered our food fresh and piping hot! The prices are pretty reasonable for the amount of food you get. After our meal we grabbed some delicious ice cream...strawberry and cookie dough!

Don’t pass up this place when in Kernersville! As a matter of fact, if you’re anywhere near Kernersville - go to Doss’ and get their foot long hotdog “all the way.” The place is clean, the prices are fair, and Boss Doss is friendly and welcoming. You want a good hamburger and hotdog? I had both and Doss’ is worth passing up all of the franchises.

A simple menu but everything I’ve tried here has been good. Their hot dogs prepared All the Way is always a good choice. Today I got the spicy chicken fillet. It was crispy and not dry. The fries remind me of Ruby Tuesday fries which were always good to me. Not a huge place. A good local spot to check out.

A hidden gem! This is a great diner, the food portions are huge and the ice cream was delicious 🤤 It stayed busy, and I see why! Everything was good. We ordered the cheeseburger special (opted for 2 patties) and a foot long hot dog special. Both came with crispy fries and a large drink. The staff was friendly and there was plenty of seating. I highly recommend this place!

Stopped by today while in Ktown. Been a while. Got two dogs ATW, onion rings, ice cold Coke and some butter pecan ice cream. Could not wait to get them home so I ate in the parking lot. Still as good as they have always been. While waiting saw several grand mothers and their grand children here for a Sunday afternoon treat.

My favorite place for a footling hotdog and banana split! Mr Doss and his staff are the best!!
