Greeted by the owner himself who also waited on us and had a down-home demeanor. He smokes his own meats on site, and the meat is quality. He has a wide variety of homemade foods on the menu. Also a lot of handmade various gifts. Michael Dean himself makes the ceramics. Check it out!

Micheal Dean’s is a fantastic restaurant. The staff is very kind and they take requests for foods cooked differently to your liking. The food is fantastic! I had the hemp tea and it was amazing. There is also a great selection of hemp infused treats, teas and oils to purchase. The hemp does not give a high but has many health benefits. I will be dinning here again!

Not a fancy place, but the owner is passionate about quality in flavor and friendly service. It's a down home country kind of vibe with phenomenal food. Drive the extra 5 minutes off the main road and get yourself a great tasting meal.

We had a great lunch, food quality was great, services was excellent. The price is very reasonable, the food portion were so worth for the money. The owner was so friendly, made us feel like home. Highly recommend.

Had the best burrito this morning. Can not say enough about their home made pesto. It is the best I have ever had. Love LOVE Love the bratwurst. Had one last week. It was delicious, full of flavor. Love their teas, great flavors. Best home made food I have had in along time. Every one else we were with loved their lunch. No one had one complaint. We were all super full and happy!

What an absolutely surreal experience. The ambience of this place is like walking into someone’s own home kitchen from the 90s. The eccentric owner Michael Dean was there taking our order and sharing his own little slice of life with us. Decorated with his own pottery and mothers quilts it felt like being in someone’s home.

The food was out of this world. Perfect home style cuisine, and so incredibly affordable. One of my favorite small town cafe experiences. We definitely look for these local businesses and this one does not disappoint.

My fiance and I are staying up for the weekend and actually went here a couple times(plan on going back before we leave too). SO good! Micheal Dean and staff are super friendly. Definitely recommend, and the smoothies are AMAZING! Literally the best smoothie I have ever had!

Went out for breakfast. Like most places in these small towns we have out here in Colorado its a walk in and find a seat kinda joint. The menu is just right not to big not to small a good selection of whatever you might be in the mood for. Service is the best, Micheal Dean makes sure you feel like family when you visit. Food was served fast with local fresh options to add, meal was delicious and i will definitely be going back to try anything else on the menu i can. Would recommend for any group. And also check out the items he has for sale around the store local vendors as well as his own skill at pottery. Prices are unbeatable.

We've driven by this place many times without stopping and I wish I hadn't waited so long! Michael Dean's was so delicious! The prices are great for the quality and the amount of food you get and Michael Dean himself served us. The philly steak was so good!! They have pottery and other items for sale as well and they're so lovely! Definitely recommend this place and will continue to come back here for the friendly service and delicious foods! My wife and I just ate lunch at Michael's. First thing I really enjoyed was the huge variety and diversity his menu had to offer. Cute little diner Michael was so nice and provided wonderful service. I had the smoked brisket sandwich as well as an all beef dawg. My wife had the loaded nachos. All of his food was fresh and delicious. I give Michael's 2thumbs up I will most definitely return and recommend to my friends. Thanks Michael Dean you rock.

Micheal Dean’s was a sweet place to stop! The owner was fantastic and so hospitable. He has his own beautiful ceramics that he sells as well as serves all the meals on. What a talented and friendly man all around. The food was great! My husband had the brats, i had the Lucy juicy burger with mac and cheese, my boys had his 100% beef hot dogs. All of it was eaten! All of us were stuffed! And all so content with our delicious food. STOP IN!! This place is a must!

Wow what an amazing experience! We were greeted by Michael dean, the owner, and he chatted with us the whole stay. We got the French dip, brisket sandwich, onion rings, potato salad, and macaroni salad (all of which were amazing!!). You can purchase ceramics handmade by the owner after you eat. We bought several beautiful pieces. Please stop here is you can to support a local business owner and artist!

Micheal Dean’s Cafe is a true hole in the wall must visit!! The food was delicious and everything is made from locally sourced products! The owner Micheal Dean was super friendly and even gave us some freshly made pistachio cake to finish our meal, made from a long time family recipe. I highly recommend the onion rings and brisket they were DELICIOUS. We tried the Country Cafe today. I purchased the Brisket Sandwich and my wife got the french dip. The meat was fantastic and the smoked flavor was the best we have ever had. All of our food was fresh and of high quality. Highly recommend and we will be back soon.

I went today for breakfast and he "threw together " an egg white, sausage, green chili hash with grilled hatch chili's on the side and some peach bread he made. Well in actuality he scratch made everything. No U.S. Foods or Sysco delivery trucks here. Everything is sourced local right down to the meat from the meat processor in Florence. He is a fun guy to chat with while eating. If you are in the area there is ample parking as well as in or outdoor seating. Check it out!

decided to try this place out after we got done rafting. we were greeted by the owner, michael, as soon as we walked in. the whole time we were there he constantly checked on us to make sure we were good and talked to us about his life and things he found interesting. the restaurant had this great family feel to it and the food was absolutely amazing. not only michael but the other two people working there were very nice and welcoming, too. definitely one of the best locally owned businesses i have ever been to. if you are wanting to find a great place to eat at in cañon city, i highly recommend michael dean’s country cafe.

Such a great spot! Green Chile was fantastic and I felt the true hospitality as delivered by owner’s attentive service, good conversation, and thoughtful touches such as hand made, by owner, dinnerware my food was served in. This joint’s warm, unpretentious atmosphere and hearty delicious food makes me want to drive to Canon City more often.

I had the smoked corned beef reuben... It blew my mind. I've never had a sandwich that had so many perfect flavors. I'll be back soon to try out more from their diverse menu. From smoked meats and bbq to homemade mac n cheese, if you're looking for a different place to eat in Canon City, FIND MICHEAL DEAN'S CAFE! it's about $10-13 a plate, and everything is made from scratch.
