Dr. Smith and his staff are very welcoming and easy-going. I was nervous to get braces, but from the very start they reassured me by thoroughly explaining all of the details of the appointments, length of treatment, how my smile would change, payment process, and outlook after removal. The staff is so kind every time I call and visit the office; Christy even sent me a handwritten welcome note! They also make the experience fun by offering incentives to keeping your teeth healthy and caring for your braces. I'm very happy with Smiles by Smith Orthodontics and recommend them to anyone who is looking to have a great experience throughout their orthodontic journey!

We absolutely love it here! All the ladies are so nice and accommodating and really make my daughter feel at ease and less nervous when getting her expander and braces and every time we come in for adjustments. They have also always been able to squeeze us in when the wire has popped out etc!. Dr Smith is so nice and funny and efficient! Cost is also very affordable imo 👌 they also have a rewards program too where you can gain points at every visit to earn gift cards!!!

We had a really great introductory appointment at Smiles by Smith. They answered our questions and made us feel at ease about the whole situation. They didn't push things that didn't seem to have specific value, and they listened to our concerns. 5 stars!

Our 10-year-old son has been a patient of Dr. Smith’s for over a year now. We have found Dr. Smith and his entire staff to be kind, welcoming, flexible, and professional. Dr. Smith is incredibly thorough — he takes time to explain the treatment plan and is great with kids. Could not recommend this office more highly!

The Fox Chapel office is wonderful! They have Xbox in the waiting room which is great for me and our 3yo while we wait for his 8yo brother to finish his appointment. He just started treatment but so far every appointment has been quick and the entire staff seems to have total confidence in each of their roles. I have been a dental assistant for 12 years and I’m happy I chose Smiles by Smith for our son. He say’s he likes going to his orthodontic appointments because everyone’s been so nice and gentle.

Smiles by Smith is a very well run orthodontist practice. It was recommended to us by a pediatric dentist for a child who needed braces to fix a dental issue.

After a diagnosis, Dr. Smith proposed a treatment plan which includes braces, retainer, plus regular checks and adjustments made every few months. There is only one fixed payment made, and everything else are covered (including follow up visits). Every patient can encounter different issues, so having one fixed payment provides peace of mind that you can make an appointment to come in at any time to check or adjust the braces without having to pay more each time.

Note that a lot more flossing and brushing are need to maintain dental health when wearing braces, and the staff were very good at showing patients what to do.

The braces treatment took years (as expected and explained upfront), but in the end, the results are great. Towards the end of the treatment, a hard mold was made that can be used to produce a plastic night retainer which needed to be worn for life thereafter to maintain the results. That completed the treatment plan, and the patient "graduates".

A couple of years afterwards, the original night retainer became worn out, and so a replacement has to be made using the same mold (so make sure to keep it in a safe place). Note that this new retainer is charged and paid for separately.

The practice has multiple branches, and each branch has its own operating days and hours. For instance, the Freeport location (see photos) is only open on certain days of the week so it is always best to call first to check their hours before heading down.

I wish to add that the reception, nurses, and staff there were always unfailingly kind, helpful, and understanding towards the child patients, who can sometimes be terrified at being at a dental practice.

My daughter and I had the most amazing initial consultation at Smiles by Smith with Sara and Dr. Smith. They were able to simplify the procedure into something my 12yo daughter was easily able to understand by using cool animations and simple analogies.

My son and I have had a wonderful experience so far at Smiles by Smith Orthodontics. Everyone is so kind, caring and knowledgeable. I strongly recommend them for your child’s orthodontist needs.

He usually sees Brea, but everyone we’ve worked with has been great. The office is welcoming and friendly. Having met with other orthodontists who were ready to put my son in braces at the initial consult, it was refreshing to find Dr. Smith who monitored my son’s mouth for over a year (at no charge) until the time was right to start. We’ve never felt pressured, just that he was in good hands.

The staff is so friendly and Dr. Smith is great and they don’t do unnecessary treatments if not needed!
