Chez Thuy Restaurant

It’s been 26 years since I first visited Chez Thuy as a young photo intern when I covered this restaurant as “Best Vietnamese” in Boulder for the Best of Boulder Series. Not much has changed- it’s still the best Vietnamese, if not the best restaurant in Boulder for quality, taste, and selection. We ordered so much food we had another dinner the next day and left feeling giddy. Definitely recommend!!

I’m still exploring different dishes on their menu. Note they have different menus for lunch and dinner. Have not got disappointed so far.

I had a delicious pho. The portions were very generous, the food was good value, the service was great and the restaurant itself is very cosy and thematic. Love the horse head vase

On the recommendation from a friend to try this great place. Treated very pleasantly by the entire staff, we were seated and served without delay. The menu is extensive. If you know what you like, the kitchen does an outstanding job preparing and presenting their best take on Vietnamese cuisine. The place is clean the people are friendly. Has earned a golden ticket and will remain one of my most liked restaurants ever.

This a great spot. Authentic Vietnamese food. Atmosphere is nice and relaxed, staff is friendly and very diligent.

Ordered the Vietnamese yellow curry/chicken that's the one in the bowl. And yellow curry/chicken it comes with alot of vegetables could easily split between two people. I would order it again.

I got the appetizer crab wontons. They we're hot fresh and big with a orange sweet n sour was bit different then the normal red but was tasty. I had the oxtail, beef spicy soup, was like pho but had a great turmeric, curry flavor! The oxtail fell off the bone mostly and the beef brisket was tender also. I was very pleased. Bowl was big enough and came with all the sides like pho. Beansprouts, limes, jalepeno etc.
Service was friendly and place had plenty of tables, booths.

I ate too much!!! The pho was hugeeeeee - I was shocked, impressed, and pleased most of all. My wife got frog legs that she had been craving for a while and enjoyed it in the curry. Our friends got marinated pork chops and pad Thai which they really enjoyed. Desert was great too between the mochi and fried banana with ice cream!

This review is via my wife visiting the grandkids in Boulder, not me.
Just a great big WOW from her.
The three of them had a wonderful meal and family time.
My wife told the two girls NO PHONES!
They said ok.
They actually talked with each other during dinner.
I remember when no one had a cell phone.
They loved the food, they loved the restaurant and of course visiting person to person.
At great time was had by all three.

Awesome Vietnamese restaurant. So many special dishes you don’t normally get from other Asian restaurants.
We ordered:
Vietnamese sausage - fun way of eating it with rice paper
Frog leg curry - so delicious and special
Duck leg - sweet and delicious!

Definitely will come back and try more!

I cant count how many meals ive eaten here. So yummy. Extensive menu. Nice decorations. Good drinks. Excellent service. Curries are great and of course sesame chicken.

Nothing getting mixed as excited food wise as this restaurant. Not to mention all the iconic restaurants disappearing from Boulder and yet this restaurant still stands on 28th St., after like 35 years. Go in and if you don’t almost lose control of yourself. Wow trying to grasp this 15 page menu of madness that spans across Eurasia then I would be impressed and mayo you a beer. They’re crispy duck legs keep me up at night. I don’t get the same thing every time or you’re really just not living life. Go to this restaurant every time and pick something different. Explore the culture.

Amazing and delicious food with very generous portions served in an efficient manner. This was an excellent meal and this is on my list of best restaurants.

Great vietnamese restaurant. Always excellent service and the food is amazing. Every time we pass through boulder, we have to stop!!! Highly recommend from quick lunch bite to a nice family outing for dinner. And prices are very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food.

There’s Pho and then there’s Chez Thuy Pho! This place has the BEST Pho you’ll ever eat in Colorado! I’ve eaten Pho all over the USA and this has been by far the best! They give very generous portions of Meat in your Pho which I hadn’t experienced before either! The broth was very authentic. Try their Vietnamese egg rolls and the pork dumplings they are nothing like I’ve ever had ( amazing is more like it).

The service was very fast and and unfriendly. Yes, you read that right! Service was unfriendly and rude (reminded me of the Soup Nutzie). But with the food being what it is I guess I’ll put up with the rudeness LOL.

This is amazing!! The PHO is so delicious, with a sweet base and tender meat. I recommend getting the vegetable with added meat, it’s a very rounded meal.

They also are willing to drop egg into my pho, like egg drop soup. I haven’t found anywhere else yet that will do this for me!

The service is top notch, Thuy is a very sweet and friendly person. Orders are received quickly and genuinely prepared. Also, the menu has a wonderful selection of traditional and modern Asian cuisine.

The environment is well decorated with Asian insignias and symbolic statues. A very comfy experience. Don’t miss out of Chey Thuy.

It is pretty much the classic Vietnamese place in Boulder. It has been around forever and the food is consistent, fast and good. The same staff has been there forever and are gruff in a way that is typical of joints that serve good Asian food. A shout out to their bartender and best waiter Mike.

I had sweet and sour Vietnamese soup which knocked me off of my feet. This was amongst other Vietnamese restaurants the most authentic flavor experience.
The boel was loaded with fish and all the ingredients that come with that soup.
Staff was professional and very efficient.
...loved it a lot.

Man, really good food❗ I had pineapple stir fry w shrimp 🍤 I cleaned my plate and it was a lot‼ everyone was my waiter lol. They all helped. I highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back and try something new

Fast, friendly, delicious. The melodic sounds of the Vietnamese language emanating from the kitchen tell you it's legitimate. I spent 4 months basically living on pho in southeast Asia, This place brings me right back there.

The best and broadest Vietnamese restaurant menu around. I've been coming here for too many years to admit and keep discovering great menu items. Not to be missed!
