Gran Canal Caffé

This place is THE BEST. We discovered it when we were looking for a place to take some out of town guests to dinner, and we are so glad we did. We've been several times since, and if you are in the mood for good Italian this is the only place to go. Food is fantastic, and the staff is lovely. They change the menu seasonally, but if you have a chance to try the carbonara, DO IT.

Our visit was great! All of the dishes were delicious. Fetttucine bolognese - noodles so tender and light and sauce was very tasty. The veal cannelloni was just as good. Great find, we'll be back! Thank you for a nice dinner.

Great Italian restaurant. Family owned, very knowledgable and attentive staff, great atmosphere, and the tops food. We did a big family meal, so i got to try a lot of different dishes. Who knew a great gem like this was hidden in Sharpsburg? I think they are closed for a couple months in the Winter?

I mean... Wow. Ok, long story short, I booked tickets unwittingly for a beer fest Valentine's day weekend (oops). So Friday night (V-day) we've just arrived after a 4 hour drive to Pittsburgh, we're hungry and curious. We are graciously seated without a reservation, and from there our experience was wonderful. The only gripe I had was it was a looooong dinner. But the food and service was PHENOMENAL. This place is family owned, I believe, and the atmosphere is very friendly and inviting. Couldn't recommend more. It is expensive, but it's absolutely worth it.

This is truly one of the best treasure of Pittsburgh. The food is always tasty, fresh and well prepared. It's a small family owned restaurant where the owners family roots in Italy are obvious in both the menu and the warm, attentive service!

Italian food that is amazing. The owners are super friendly and if you have any questions will be at your table in seconds to help you out. The staff is wonderful. The food is fantastic and the portions are generous.

Quite easily one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Wait staff was excellent and attentive; the atmosphere itself was elegantly cozy. The food was phenomenal and beyond satisfying. Coming back again for sure!

My wife and I love to eat at hidden gems in Pittsburgh and this is our favorite! They will have pumpkin raviolis this fall and they are hands down my favorite meal any where! I highly recommend the Grand Canal!

My favorite restaurant. Gran Canal Caffe serves exceptional food in a warm and friendly atmosphere. I have been a happy patron for over 20 years. We always plan our New Year's celebratory dinner at the Gran Canal.

This might be one of the best old school Italian restaurants in Pittsburgh. 10/10 it’s a real family restaurant the kind of place you’d see on TV but could never actually find. Can’t say enough good things, a must try.

The greatest Italian family restaurant in Pgh area. Delish fresh foods that equaled our trip Italy. Instead of a vacation to Italy go to the Gran Canal Caffe in Sharpsburg, PA.😁😋

If I could rate a 10 star I would. We met the owner she was very very personable the food the server all was just a great experience. A true hidden gem.
