Sewickley Speakeasy

I think our waitress was Brenda, she was the best waitress we’ve had in a very long time, efficient and thoughtful. Everything came out perfectly with her timing.! It was our first time at the restaurant, food was excellent, cooked to perfection. Being Easter they had a nice crowd. We will definitely be back. It’s not a big restaurant so make reservations.

We loved it. Wait staff was beyond! She recommended a cocktail to me that I would have never thought of..delicious! The view was great of the Ohio River. Food fantastic! My crab cakes were great, all crab, no filler. We will be back.

I have never had a bad meal at "The Speakeasy." The restaurant strikes a rare balance, being upscale yet cozy. The portions are gargantuan so expect to bring home lots of leftovers! If you are eager to have dessert and started with an appetizer you should probably only eat about a quarter of your entree. Not even joking!

Service can be slow so I don't recommend that you try to have a quick meal here. If you are desiring a long leisurely dinner with family or to spend a romantic evening with your significant other, The Speakeasy is the perfect place. My family often does birthday dinners here.

There is a quaint and quiet patio tucked behind the restaurant. Great place to sit and have a glass of wine on a pleasant day. 🥂

Most dishes come with a side (get the mashed potatoes if you opt for a steak or porkchops!). All entrees come with a choice or soup or side salad. I am a top-tier salad snob and the salad is lackluster IMO. They make absolutely delicious soups in house. 😋🤤

They do have several pasta dishes but I have a wheat sensitivity (in addition to lactose intolerance) so I haven't tasted most of them. I do on occasion cheat on my diet and get the angel hair with pine nuts appetizer. It is outstanding!

I had duck with cherries and rice pilaf last night and it was wonderful!

The food is AMAZING here!! The Sewickley Speakeasy is a small, quaint restaurant that has a long neighborhood history as well as fresh cooked food. There is a nice selection of Seafood dishes as well as steak. The garlic "Smashed " potatoes are to die for! The service is personable and efficient. The restaurant is located in the upscale, historic neighborhood of Sewickley Pennsylvania right near the Ohio River. The menu and wine list is quite impressive. There is also a fully stocked bar in the front of the restaurant. There is ample parking as well. The vibe is low key yet warm and comforting. Being here makes you feel like you are in the living room of a family member's home. The prices are fair and the portions are decent. Great place to propose to the special person In your life! They also host, wedding receptions and small gatherings. I love to visit everytime, I visit loved ones in Sewickley!

Dr. Lewis Faulkner took me for a Anniversary/Valentines Day celebration at a highly recommended restaurant. They exceed our expectations with delicious food and excellent service! I had the Seafood Platter and Doc had the Steak Zurich and Stuffed Mushrooms. Everything done to perfection! We will be returning very soon!

Everything was delicious. The duck was cooked to perfection. The Brie was amazing! The service was excellent.

One of our favorite places eaten at just about every 4/5 star restaurants in the Pgh area, this place is at the top of the list… casual and the food is excellent!

absolutely delicious! 10/10 would recommend to anyone! (*seating is very limited so make a reservation in advance*) make sure to not miss the turn into restaurant it's very easy to miss. our waitstaff was wonderful. was told everything is made in house and fresh every morning. the atmosphere is intimate and small with retro photos hung up, the house is from the 1700s and the restaurant has been open 24 years. a train goes by about every 10 minutes adding to the atmosphere plus they also have outdoor seating (*currently not available due to staff shortages*) Pricing is (in my opinion) pretty fair for the type of food they serve and because it's made fresh. food came out relatively quickly for the amount mmy only complaint is that we wanted to sit outdoors and couldn't but that can't be helped.

Really warm and comfortable with a relaxed vibe. Huge portions of all kinds of delicious options! Friendly and attentive staff! Try patio dining. It’s a must-see enchanting speakeasy feeling. We love it!

Took some friends that have never been here before, like a lot of times when you talk up a place it's not as good as you hyped it up to be. The salads have shrunk to a sad sized portion, there was only about four bites maybe? The Russian oysters have shrunk by one as well and the price went up significantly on those too, understandable though I guess in todays economy. All that being said, it was still very nice evening and the food was very tasty! We will continue to frequent this establishment because the pros definitely outweigh any cons! A very friendly staff, good cocktails and the view of the river is always a bonus!

My family had an enjoyable Easter lunch there. Charming setting in a house environment. The server was friendly and attentive. Selections and portions sufficient. Prices reasonable.

I have been going to this place since the late 90s. I'm never disappointed. The food is creative without being weird.

First time here and it's wonderful. Great food. Very nice staff. Very clean. It's a bit outdated, but don't let that stop you. It brings a homey feel you can't get at a new upscale restaurant. Everything we ordered was good, from the wine to the oysters, duck and fried cheesecake. Filet was perfectly done and tender. The chef knows what she's doing. The only thing that we thought was odd was you have to valet (free) park. But the parking lot is small and I'm sure they have reasons. Also, it was too quiet in there. A little soft music in the background is always nice. We will be going back. Thank you.

The Speakeasy is a rare treat. They have a menu of "lighter" fare with an appetizer, soup or salad, entree, and dessert. They also have a regular menu with a wider array of choices for a bit more money. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is cozy, charming, and elegant at the same time. I also have to give them a lot of credit as one of the few restaurants that have Port wine available, as this is one of my favorite post meal digestifs. All-in-all, a wonderful place for a quick meal off the lighter fare menu or a special occasion night out!

We had our oldest grandson's graduation party. Everyone had a choice of four light lunches. There was four courses. The food was fantastic and the employees were sensational. The event could not have been better.

Literally one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. The food was beyond amazing. This is a true hidden gem in Pittsburgh which is saying something since I have grown up here. First time here but certainly not my last. Cannot say enough great things about the food and the staff!! Our waitress was great!!

Had dinner there on Valentine's day. They had a special menu. I didn't care for it. So. I decided not to go back. My girlfriend chose Speakeasy for our friends night out. I wasn't to thrilled but i agreed to go. I had heard that the food was excellent... Needless to say , we had a fantastic meal. I ordered the chicken Zurich. Honestly, the one best restaurants in Pittsburgh. I highly recommend it!

We had reservations for this restaurant and I'm not sure what some of the other reviews are about. We had:
1. Spectacular and friendly service
2. Timely deliverance of food and drinks
3. Tasty, flavorful food
4. The best steak I ever had
5. The atmosphere that dimmed as the night came on spoke "Speakeasy" to me.

In short, we're going there soon for our anniversary.

First time but definitely not the last time there ! Fantastic food ! Reasonably priced for the quality and the quantity ! Service was top shelf ! Excellent staff ! Kathleen, our server , was aces ! I strongly recommend this establishment ! A true hidden treasure along Rt. 65.
