Kelly's Bar & Lounge

Kelly’s is exactly what I want in a neighborhood bar. It’s small. It’s dark. There is one side which hosts a massive rail and other intimate booths which run parallel. The music was on point all evening. We came after a Pirates game and it was slammed, after waiting for five minutes we got a table. The food here is homey. Massive portions and definitely proper pub food. Went with the fish sandwich, Cajun meatloaf and Mac and cheese. The fish sandwich is massive. It needs sauce, so make sure to coat the boat in provided tarter. The meatloaf had a nice kick and was smothered in perfectly cooked onions. The Mac and cheese was good, albeit not the most amazing and didn’t live up to the hype for me. I would, however, order it again. If you’re looking for a cool spot in a gentrified neighborhood, Kelly’s is your go-to.

Loved it so much I came here twice on a trip! I needed to find a place that did Mac and Cheese well, and they delivered. Great pierogis, too! The drink selection is excellent. Each time I went there was always a space for me.

Great place I loved it, it is small and dark, I like the red lights. Staff was great. I spent most of my time out on the back deck during happy hour. Great food there was this grilled cheese appetizer that came with olives, it was amazing, I have never ate that before. Happy hour had cheap drinks, libations all a around. Would definitely go back!!!

Love this place.. absolutely legendary.. recommended to my by a friend who grew up around the corner.. (the legend Alex Frank) and I can’t say enough good things.. was just traveling through town and stopped by but the staff was great and the atmosphere electric, the drinks were normal drinks that you get at a good bar which is exactly what you should want.. no $15 cocktails.. just classic good stuff.. didn’t have the food because I had just eaten but it also looks good

I've been going to Kelly's for nearly 20 years. It's one of my favorite bars in Pittsburgh. It's one of the last great dives with great music playing all night. Good bar food. Good drinks. Cool staff.

If you’re a minority in Pittsburgh — black, queer, or even just a woman — this is one of the few fun bars that hasn’t been ruined by rainbow capitalism. The vibe is unapologetically authentic. Food is great compared to most bars; drinks are some of the best bang for buck in the entire city. Seriously, good luck finding another place with as good drinks competitively priced. Give it a go.

Got the taco perogies, which were DELICIOUS. We also got their mac & cheese, spinach dip, sweet potatoes, and a BBQ sammich. Everything was really delicious. Kinda disappointed that you can't mix and match the perogies, but that just means I'll be back to try the others!

Hipster but totally cool bar. The service is amazing and the food is delicious. The Pittsburgh bites made out of tofu were incredible. Great prices too!

Never thought to eat at Kelly’s but turns out to be exceptional bar food. Pierogis, Mac & cheese & The Rachel were all on point. So if you’re looking for dinner and drinks, Kelly’s got you covered.

Other than to see my pals, I come to Pittsburgh for Kelly’s. Best bar in America. Great drinks and food, all reasonably priced. Music and lighting = cherry on top.

Kellys is a nice cocktail bar that feels half divey. The food is always phenomenal and the staff are nice. The only rough this is food takes a long time to come out, I've been 3 times and it's been an average of 40 min after we ordered to get food. But the taste is worth the wait

Every single time I come here the food is excellent, service is chill and the atmosphere is one-of-a-kind. Feels like you're transported back in time given that this place has been around since the 40s and hasn't changed much since. It's intimate, comfortable and classic. I love it as much as I love the food. They knock it out of the park every time.

Had a truly bizarre experience at a generally great neighborhood bar tonight. Things started off normal, we ordered beers, 2 Beyond Burgers, and tofu bites, all of which were pretty solid. But after we asked for a box and our check, our server didn't come by our table again for about 45 minutes. Her section was reasonably busy so I didn't want to be too harsh, but we saw another table ask for their check and get there's about 5-10 minutes later. After failing to get our server's attention, I flagged down a bar back and asked if he could bring it out.

Here's the weird part. The bar back talked to our server, and when she came over, she asked if we needed anything else or if we wanted the check. She genuinely seemed to have no recollection whatsoever of speaking to us about the check earlier. Like it would be understandable if she had forgotten, but there was absolutely no spark of recognition that we had already had that conversation. If she was just playing dumb, she deserves Oscar. Then about 5 minutes later she asked us if we needed anything AGAIN, before catching herself and saying "oh right, a box." At that point I'd been staring at my empty glass for nearly an hour and just wanted to get out of there so we told her that we don't even want the box anymore and would just like are check. She did eventually bring us a box with our check.

I'm still not sure if I was just pranked by a mastermind. I couldn't even leave less than a standard tip in good conscience because she seemed totally unaware that anything out of the ordinary had happened. The same server has also served us before and she's usually great. I partially felt I needed to type out this review because her unawareness was so convincing that I'm starting to doubt my own recollection of reality even though my partner was sat across the table and experienced it all as well.

Overall, 5 stars because the beers and food were good and I'm sure this was a one-off. But just in case, next time I go to Kelly's, I'm definitely bringing cash so I can just calculate my bill and pay without having to wait nearly an hour after my meal is done to be able to leave.

Great place! Didn't know this but they LOVE when people play with the sweet potatoes that they leave beside the bathroom, and give free drinks out if you can bring one out to the bartender!!!! They aren’t for eating because it would be way too gross!

Perfect neighborhood bar with just the amount of grit.

Classic vibes, made-to-order baked Mac n cheese, delicious sandwiches and rotating $5 happy hour cocktails. It’s great, and they have booths aka the best restaurant seating.

Awesome staff, huge-interesting beer selections... but that old school dive-bar decor is really what puts Kelly's over-the-top. Back patio offers smoking; the perfect place to chill on a summer weekday night. Caleb and Monika are two of my favorite bartenders in the city.
