Our experience with the RJ Slater IV Funeral Home was extremely positive. Our family couldn't have asked for a better experience. RJ was so pleasant and compassionate. He worked hard to ensure that our needs were met. RJ responded to our questions in a very timely manner even on off hours. In such a difficult time, we didn't have to worry about a the arrangements. The cost was very reasonably as well. Highly recommend.

The amount of care, speed and professionalism RJ Slater showed getting my family and I through my dad's passing was beyond comparison.

The prices for direct cremation, which was the option we chose for him, was the most affordable of the places we were looking. When I put the call in to enlist their services everything was explained thoroughly and clearly, and his body was picked up promptly after my family and I made the decision.

RJ was very kind and compassionate during the paperwork process and too the time to make sure I understood everything we were discussing. He also took time to talk everything over with my stepmother over the phone.

The paperwork itself (death certificate, etc.) was processed and returned to us quicker than we originally estimated, and we had no trouble at all picking up his ashes.

In all, I would recommend RJ Slater IV and his facilities and staff to anyone looking for a direct cremation for their loved one and honestly in general. The kind of service they provide is exactly the amount of dignity and care your loved ones deserve on the way to their final rest.

I recently lost my 94 year old aunt to “ old age”. We knew her time was nearing the end, but it’s always difficult. I was her POA and overseer of her care, finances estate etc. so lots to be done. She had chosen RJ Slater for her funeral a couple years prior to her death. I was a little nervous about handling all of this as I live across the country and did a lot remotely. When her time came to an end, RJ was always accessible by phone or text. He made suggestions and took care of most details. Stuck within her budget as well. It was easier than I ever expected and the entire process went like clockwork. I will not be anxious about it if called upon to do this in the future. The experience went better than I ever expected. I was asked by a coworker to call and find out about cremation for her husband who was on home hospice and was not expected to live long. RJ Slater was caring and gave information in an easy to understand manner. In a strange twist of fate I had to use their services for my sister before my coworker, All business was conducted without me having to go to the funeral home. Everything from the removal of my sisters body, to paperwork, was taken care of. All the while with a caring attitude.

When I walked in to my mother's viewing, I was taken aback by how beautifully the items I had purchased were displayed. I had ordered a personalized blanket for my son and they had it hung up for the words to be able to be read by all. The sweet teddy bear that my daughter calls her Nana Bear was in the middle of the room on a table with flowers. I have to say that all the flowers were tastefully arranged throughout the room. They did an amazing job. They made her look like she did when she was younger, with her eyebrows and face brimming with youth. She was beautiful again. Cancer had ripped that away. I'm so thankful for the dignity they gave her and the family. I know I will have to eventually handle my father's funeral as well, and I intend on working with Mr. Slater once again.

When I knew things were happening, I searched many different funeral homes in reality to find a reasonably priced service. I had no idea how expensive it was to die. He was the best priced and honestly the process was easy. RJ Slater went out of their way to help me deal with my mothers passing. So many other funeral homes wanted to nickel and dime me - or just didn't return my phone calls, but RJ Slater handled everything timely and with incredible professionalism.

I can not say enough about the kindness, professionalism, and overall experience that my family received at such a sad time....My Brother, Mother and myself met with RJ to make arrangements for my stepfathers final journey. He made our Mother comfortable with his mannerisms, did not push her and patiently took care of her changes thru the process.
