Mellow spot. I like all the different seating options and how simple the drink menu is. Sometimes it would be nice if there were more new drinks or the pastries got switched up a bit. The baristas are all nice with a good sense of humor.

First time visiting and I want to go back! They focus on environmentally conscious coffee that protect native bird habitats, which is awesome. Plus the coffee was delicious. I had a cappuccino and pour over, the pour over was very nice and the notes were as described. Also picked up a bag of coffee for home!

The space is also beautiful. Love the vibe in there and casual seating.

What a delightful find.
Btw, ty for 200K views!

Hidden in a residential complex off Penn Ave by Penn Circle East is this unassuming coffeehouse with solid Cortados and a wide selection of tea.

I stopped by this place and found
- Plenty of Seating
- Benches if you want a little privacy
- Open sitting room with library vibes
- And it's like, really quiet

I'm not sure how redstart got their start, but I'm glad I stopped in. I got a delicious, well made drink for $4 and was able to while away a bit of the afternoon whilst copywriting on my laptop.

If you've been to KLVN Coffee House, this place has a similar, but much quieter vibrance. No loud voices, just the sounds of an espresso machine whirring away against a soft music background.

Check out the pics for their coffee and menus, chocolate and pastry case.

Redstart Roasters is one of those coffee shops that not only provides a good product and service, but also has a unique mission that they strive to achieve.
One of the best things about this place isn’t their orchid latte (although it is absolutely delicious), but their dedication to being a bird friendly cafe and roaster.
The service is fantastic and quick. Clemmy, a partner here, was welcoming and knowledgeable about the cafe, it’s offerings, and the goal of the company. He provided me with tons of details on the flavor profiles of their coffees and it was nice to learn that they ethically source everything.

If you’re looking for a delicious spot with a great mission look no further!

Heads up: I don't drink coffee, so I enjoyed some tea and a scone. The tea was steeped for me and any bags removed from the mug before it was handed over. Nice! The scone was delicious. I'd have loved to have more food options like sandwiches.

The atmosphere was just what I needed for a work-and-think meeting, and it seemed like everyone there (the shop was full) was doing the same thing. The vibe was very warm and inviting. This is a good spot!

I’ve been grabbing coffee at Redstart Roasters for a few years now, and it is pretty much my go to place at this point.

The dedication to bird-friendly beans from sustainable farms is admirable and obviously a plus to anyone who loves birds as much as Matt, the owner, who consistently impresses with his precise roasting of each single origin bean, opting for light or medium roasts to highlight intricate flavors. I don’t usually like black coffee, but I do when it’s from Redstart.

I’ve heard people say the atmosphere is reminiscent of a library with its serene energy. There’s comfortable, high-end furniture, a non-functional phone booth, bird-themed decor, and bird books on every table that all come together to create a cool vibe.

My favorite thing about Redstart Roasters though, beyond the outstanding coffee is also the warmth of the community. I’ve never encountered an unfriendly face, be it a fellow customer or a staff member. This place is a gem in Pittsburgh’s coffee scene.

Whoever put together the board game collection is clearly an enthusiast. Every single pick is a modern classic. Huge respect for having Arboretum. Oh yeah and the coffee is really good. Me and my girlfriend are birders too so we are obsessed with the theme and it's mission. Will definitely become a regular spot for us ♥♥♥

Everyone on Reddit talked about this place and it’s worth a visit. Their latte has a strong coffee yet smooth aroma. This place has ample seating and plugs. It’s very spacious for gatherings as well and I love their decor. They also sell freshly roasted coffee beans on the side. They have their own parking lot and it was barely busy in the morning.

Laid back place to get environmentally-friendly coffee and work in an open setting. WiFi is decent, could use more power outlets but the table layout is nice and well-lit.

Nice quiet coffee shop, good coffee. Their thing is being bird friendly so they add a lot of bird related touches too!

This is currently my most favorite cafe in Pittsburgh.
The espresso-based drinks are flavorful.
The ambience is fresh! Very airy and lots of natural lighting. Many charging points, and different kinds of places to sit (table, couch, chair).

Had a great experience at the newly opened Redstart Roasters! Ordered a latte that was amazing and got to peek at what a fantastic space this is - if you’re in the East Liberty area you must check it out! There is a large parking lot directly outside the shop and the owner Matt was incredibly friendly & knowledgeable!

I love this place, its bird friendly coffee, and its whole aesthetic.

My sole beef is that the drop from the curb to the street when exiting the parking lot nearly always causes me to spill a little bit of coffee out of the wide mouth cold brew cup. I guess that's on me to develop that skillful balance!

Love the atmosphere here. The staff was awesome as well. Coffee is amazing too and I guess that's probably what you want to know in a review.

This is my favorite coffee shop in Pittsburgh! I've spent many a day here working on my dissertation, and will have fond memories.

Beyond the staff being quite friendly (they know my usual when I walk in) and a great aesthetic (tons of natural light), their coffee is excellent. I've been to around ~25 coffee shops in the city, and have found Redstart has the best drip- it's strong, and is also consistently. They also make a good latte.

For folks looking to work, there are many outlets, the wifi has been consistent while I've been here, and they also do free refills on the drip, which is an added bonus.

Love this spot- orchid oatmilk latte was delish. giant windows- lots of natural light and lovely plants. but I wish there was more seating! Lots of people on laptops but not many spots for 2 people to actually talk to each other without feeling like everyone can hear you. There is room to expand and I wish they would!!
