Grim Wizard Coffee

I came in to town to visit a friend and he recommended we check this place out. Not only is the cafe splattered in custom art, goth/metal decor and good color coordination but the coffee was incredible and so were the little burritos we got. Shout outs to Mallory, the owner and everyone on bar who made my visit special. Came for the theme of the shop but I will visit again on every trip I make to Pitt cuz they absolutely passed the vibe check.

Grim Wizard is a gem of a coffee shop. Delicious drink offerings along with a really fun and well curated vibe. Fits in well with the other unique shops in Allentown nowadays. Will definitely be coming back!

Awesome atmosphere here! Metal music always on. Whether its plain coffee or one of the specials, the drinks never miss. Don’t like coffee? They have tea too! My favorite part is the 4 pinball machines there. Great selection, beautifully maintained. Final shoutout goes to the staff, everyone is so welcoming, especially Kat and Kelly. Keep it up! We love Grim Wiz!

Not my type of music but the staff was outstanding and the drinks were delicious. We are here for a long weekend. We will be going back for sure. Bring quarters if you want to play pinball. Our barista was amazing. Interacted with our grandkids. 100% recommend

This is a great heavy metal / goth-ish themed cafe with some very nice pinball games. It’s unique, clean and friendly.

Best coffee house I've been to in Pittsburgh. Staff is incredibly kind, the selections are great, and the vibes are 100.

The fact that they have pinball machines is just such a wonderful and unexpected bonus.

Best coffee in the city and I have been to pretty much all of the coffee shops in this town. Some of the best maintained pinball machines and the staff is friendly.

Who doesn't love a metal-themed coffee shop? Their aesthetic reminds me of TRVE and Burial Brewing. I wish they had another location down the hill, but it's always a treat to come up to Arlington Avenue to have a $6.66 latte or delicious cold brew coffee from Black Forge. I have to be honest.... this place has THE BEST COFFEE IN PITTSBURGH. I also like the atmosphere, the cleanliness and the staff. Even if parking is a very difficult, the service and the coffee are worth the pain.

This is a great spot for a quick caffeine pick me up. Lots of great decorations and a fun theme. Their drinks are also on the sweeter side

One of my favorite coffee houses in Pittsburgh. Good selection of both coffee, and treats. Be sure to try one of their cayenne coffee specialities -- they are uplifting.The Black Forge is located right next to the police station, making it easy to find. I have always managed to find parking near by.

I lived in Pittsburgh for six and a half years, but finally went here now that I moved to another country and was just visiting. I wish this had been located downtown because it was the coolest, best coffee shop I have been to here.

The drinks are so creative with the ingredients and names. Love the exact $6.66 prices too! My bestie and I both tried seasonal drinks that were so good: Beezleberry and Phoenix Rising.

The dopest part though is that I moved to Uruguay, a country known for their love for mate, and Black Forge sells these different canned drinks with Yerba Mate. I had to try one! Legit had never seen mate in Pittsburgh before.

The barista was also super nice, the music was great, and seating and decor were done well.

Make your way to Allentown to give it a try!

Visited while on vacation to see my boyfriend’s family. Coffee - IMMACULATE! Service - DIVINE! We had a great time and really loved the vibe 😊 We also visited the oddities shop down the way owned by the same person as the coffee shop.

P.S. if you were wondering about the sign in the woman’s restroom…I figured it out. Being a 2010’s scene kid came in handy lol

Great service great staff. I’m glad they didn’t change the core when it was the black Forge. In fact they added for pinball machines, good coffee and the girls that work there are super cool

This is the coziest and most artsy coffee shop I've been to! They have an extensive menu of specialty drinks - there's something for everyone, and they sell bags of quality coffee beans and merch. Every inch of the place is covered in amazing artwork by local artists. I would have loved to come during one of their events or shows. Although I'm not local I'll come back whenever in Pittsburgh again.
