Off the Rails Barbeque and Drafthouse

Discovered this locally owened business and highly recommend! Ordered beef brisket and pulled pork; there were two sauce choice, BBQ and mustard, recommend the mustard. Both entrees were smoky, tender, and flavorful. The pork had a nice bark on it. The collard greens were delightfully spicy and the brussel sprouts were crisp with a surprising vinegar dressing. Acoustic guitar from 7pm to 9pm was awesome, as was the beer list...a dozen beers on draft.

Highly recommend and will return!

Food was great with good sized portions. Both my wife and I had some to take home. The Mac and cheese has a little more bite to it than I usually go for, but was extremely tasty. The chopped brisket was tender and smokey.

The. Wings. Are. Incredible. Whole wings and they’re only $1 a pop on Wednesday. Got the “Mango Habanero” sauce on the side, but they didn’t even need it (sauce was really good tho too). Cripsy, seasoned, juicy, and delicious. Get the wings. The brisket was solid as well. Heavy smoke flavor. Very tender. Stop in when you can🤝

Their barbecue sauce is legit, best in Pittsburgh. Call head or get there when they have their taco special, pulled brisket on mac & cheese is a favorite of many. Cute friendly staff. Fast service. Fast food! Low $

One of my favorite finds in the entire Pittsburgh area. Absolutely some of the best BBQ I've ever had. The wings were amazing and fall right off the bone and the fries were very well seasoned. It's also a very comfortable place to chill and eat amazing BBQ with a fire pit! The staff and owner are very kind and welcoming as well and made this a beyond 5 star experience. I can guarantee I will be back. Also dog friendly!!!

Amazzzzzzing. The staff was wonderful… the atmosphere is dope. Indoor and outdoor seating. Bar seating. Everyone was super friendly. Now the food… the brisket sandwich was amazing. It melted in your mouth. The baked beans were bomb. Great burger and the fries were also delicious… will definitely be back again.

All you need to say is BBQ and I'm in. This place was great. Food and drink came out reasonably quick. Staff was friendly and checked up to see how we were enjoying our food. No pictures cause we ate it too fast. My boyfriend got the brisket nachos and I got the pulled pork mac and cheese. Each of us got a craft beer as well. Decent tap/can list.

Not my first time here and every time was AMAZING!

My wife got her usual brisket mac n cheese, perfectly done, creamy mac n cheese and tender flavorful brisket.

I got one of today's specials, train wreck burger. Juicy, flavorful cooked perfectly!

We also got 2 of their half chicken specials with 2 sides to go! They held them for us so they were ready to go when we left. They are meaty, tender, cooked perfectly!

Everyone we interacted with was friendly, personable and helpful!

Definitely worth going if you've never been there!

There is so much to say about Off the Rail, Ken and the entire team in Verona. It took my husband and I a long time to finally stop and now it we are LOYAL addicts to this BBQ. It is the best in Pittsburgh so far. There are lot of things we like at other places but to love everything on the menu speaks volumes about the quality that is smoked here. I travel for work and Texas has been a frequent stop once again. I like things on the menu but there is no other place that the entire menu is amazing.
I am finally writing a review on OTRB is because I have not tried everything until now.
RIBs: Fall of the bone but does not fall apart. No 1 thing a BBQ judge looks for in good smoke. Requires sauce: NO. none needed unless you want it. Another key to good smoke.
Pork: it is flavorful, it is NOT dry, no sauce required and it great on everything, sandwich, potato, nacho, grilled cheese.. there is no limit.
Brisket: smoke to perfections. The chili is out of this world, flavor heat on a potato does not matter the vechicle to which is reaches your mouth. Will not disappoint.
Wings are good. I am a person that I like my wings smoked. I just wish they had the choice of not flash frying them. That is a personal choice. I still eat them because they are wonderful. I dont always want the greese.
Chicken. I have fallen in love ALL over again with the pulled chicken. I dont eat that much bread bc i am not a bread person. but on the potato or nachos or straight out of the to go bowl...This will be my 2nd choice to the ribs or even better I will just get both when the ribs are not sold out.
Everything is truly on point. I gave 4 stars to atmosphere only because sometimes I freeze while inside. HOWEVER the food and beer selection keeps me warm!!
There are weekly specials and their cheese steaks are sharable.
OH the Beer selection GO KEN!!!! He gets some great hard to find crafter beers. I love this place but my cardiologist does not like it.

We are new to the area. Stopped by to check it out. Awesome! We got the ribs, brisket sandwich and Mac and cheese. Perfect smoke on the meats. Kind of a black pepper flavor to the Mac and cheese which I really liked. Had some good margaritas and the staff was very nice and friendly. Definitely going back.

First time here and my server gladly walked me through the process and menu.
You order and pay at the cash register. The menu is two-sided and includes options in which you then choose your meat, or meat options by themselves, and sides to order ala carte are on the back.
I opted for a pulled pork sandwich, which came with chips with an upgrade option of fries. I decided on neither and instead ordered sides of Mac n cheese and slaw.
The Mac n cheese was good. It had cheese that was gooey and stuck to the macaroni vs. being wet and drowning in sauce. This is exactly the way I prefer it.
The slaw was vinegar-based, again, my preference. I will say they are large portions for sides. If I were with someone, they would have been enough to share. An option for a smaller portion priced accordingly would have been welcomed.
The sandwich was quite tasty. My server let me know where bbq sauces were, and I did add.
I also got a diet coke. All totaled with 20 percent tip was 30 dollars or so. I am finding this to be the going rate for such a meal no matter where I go, quite pricey for lunch. But, as a treat, it was very tasty.
I ate indoors, which has the option of table or bar seating. They also have outdoor seating for those good-weather days, and it looked to have a fireplace.

Excellent brisket!!! Super flavorful! Super tender! Melt in your mouth goodnes!!!Ribs and Mac were better than I could have imagined. Great smoke flavor on all the meats. Overall a great experience!!!

This place has come a long way. I'm pretty sure they opened during the pandemic. They have always had the best BBQ in the region and they also provide the best service to match. Highly recommend it. Every item on the menu is good!

Absolutely excellent! Had it twice this week and am already craving it again. Absolute BEST Carolina Gold BBQ sauce I have ever had!

Came too late bc the kitchen was closed, but definitely will be back. The inside area is small but opens up to plenty of outside tables and a stage for music. There was an awesome homemade Connect Four board and cornhole. They have 12 craft beers on tap and a separate fridge with a large variety as well. They had a good selection of music and all of the bartenders/servers were super hospitable and friendly. Can’t wait to come back and try the BBQ.

Good food, great beer selection and plenty off outdoor seating. Food arrived quickly. Got the pork Mac and pork nachos. Hitchhikers beers on tap complimented well. Great spot in Verona!

Got the loaded baked potato with pulled pork, today's special, was so very good, excellent pulled pork, love the tangy barbecue sauce. The husband got a burger which was ground brisket and short ribs, he said it was very good. Everything came out hot and didn't have to wait long. The girls working out front very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back, this was our first time.

I've been here a few times testing the consistency. The food and customer service is always remarkable. Most of the seating is outside and I love it. They have a full bar and slushies but their BBQ is amazing. Their selection of beers is almost overwhelming but I love the choices. They have a firepit and are dog friendly so they're awesome in my book.

My girlfriend and I ate here for the first time last night and were amazed! Very good and fast service! And then the food was phenomenal! $14 for a half rack of ribs and very much worth the money! The beans and Mac n cheese are also solid, as well as a the beautifully cooked brisket.

This was my first time here and I loved it. Chicken was really good. Highly recommend if you live or frequent the Verona area and looking for a good eat!!!!
