What an awesome place!!! Just moved to Pittsburgh and this has got to be one of the neatest and most unique shops within a 50 mile radius. My girls and I had so much fun looking through the collection of oddities and diverse artworks. I wish we could've stayed longer but lunchtime was approaching. We did discover the amazing creations by a husband and wife team and had to "adopt" some of their creatures into our family. We will certainly return...the owner is great and so is his sweet and amicable co-worker Charlie who loves attention. I assume parking may be a challenge, but I didn't ask if there was a lot? We parked on Park Dr and walked about a block and a half. You'll have to cross Willow Dr, the train tracks and Castle Shannon Blvd but it's doable. Highly recommend a visit, especially if you are into one of a kind pieces, this place has tons of them! : D

Cant stop adding to the collection!!! #roughandready #voodoovelvetstudios #localart

Great little gem of a shop - lots of interesting art, both modern and vintage, cool antique medical finds, the most disturbing red resin clock I've ever seen (that one came home with me) and generally interesting wares to browse.

Got my hands a bit dirty to dig through the bins in addition to what was on display, and came away with a few really great treasures.

I was given the grand tour by the sweetest pooch in the world, Charlie - the owner, Justin, was very helpful and fun to chat with as well. I had a minor mishap while loading my car and he even went above and beyond to help me deal with it.

I love the eclectic nature of everything this shop has. It's worth looking at every inch of this storefront because a once-twice-thrice walkthrough won't show you everything there is to offer. You can find someone for anyone in your life here if you're creative enough!

This place was very cool!

We were greeted by the sweetest little dog on the planet when we walked through the door. The little guy also trailed behind us while we explored and it was very sweet! I loved him. Haha!

The owner was super kind and shares a lot of information about the pieces in the shop. It is rather small, but is a home to some strange things. If you're like me, and like the creepy, this place is worth a stop. The back room had a lot of cool dead stuff in jars and some amazing anatomical illustrations from the 1800's.

I will definitely keep visiting here to see what new stuff they get in, because the owner has an eye for the weird! And I'm about that!

Also... I love that dog. Seriously.

I can’t fully word how wonderful this place is, the owner was incredibly friendly and his door greeter (a sweet little dog!) we’re welcoming. After that the selection of antiques and oddities were abundant, lots of little hidden treasures as well as some larger than life selections of things you won’t find anywhere else. My boyfriend and I were especially attracted to the back room which is filled with a diverse selection of items (we mostly admired the animal skulls ). My only issue was that I didn’t bring enough money as I would’ve probably left with half of the taxidermied animals!

I definitely recommend coming here if you want to find something truly unique!

This is my favorite store! Justin is such an awesome guy to talk to, and there is no where else in Pittsburgh that curates stuff like he does! I could (and nearly have) spent all day here. A huge part of my home decor is from Rough & Ready and I'm always looking forward to what I will find next. :)

The one and only, ORIGINAL oddities antique store in Pittsburgh!
Few min drive for us staying downtown last weekend... greeted by the friendliest doggo and a friendly, knowledgeable, amazinggg owner who is just a good guy! My son, girlfriend, and I bought a few things but will return in a few months next time we are in that area.

Killer finds, good prices, and great selection! Hope to chat it up again soon with him... (p.s. to the owner: My girlfriend, son, and I are the ones that bought the blue action figure, the wrist bracelets, and catholic statue piece).

Funky little store in the heart of Castle Shannon. Cool oddities that cant be found easily anywhere else. The shop owner is a guy with a vast knowledge of his items and the story behind them. He also is a valuable asset if you are in the market for a particular item. Check it out for yourself. Ask him about bird whistles (just a little sales humor).

Justin is a great guy, recently moved locations and now has a bigger store and room for much more items. Lots of good taxidermy/skulls as well as antiques, vintage signs, art, etc. Always stop by when I'm in the area and never leave disappointed

Justin is a second-generation antiques dealer who has curated an unusual collection of objets d'art and curiosities, old toys, colorful lighting, vintage clothing, taxidermy, tools and abstract sculptures -- one of the coolest spots in Castle Shannon. Gee, you can make it a kooky day and visit Any Warhol's grave just down the road where your visit is beamed LIVE to the Warhol Museum on the North Shore -- fabulous!
