An interesting place. Constructed out of an old railway dining car, I believe. It caught my eye immediately and I had to try it. Very friendly staff, and a good menu with lots of selections. I ordered the fish sandwich since it is Friday. Large portions and very tasty. Would highly recommend.

Great food, service and prices! The fries were amazing. The buns were delicious. You can tell a lot of love and thought went into the place! The outdoor area was wonderful.

My mushroom burger was very good, and the fries were exceptional, crisp on the outside and seasoned just right. Seating is outdoors, mostly on picnic tables and benches under a canopy.

Very friendly staff. The hot dogs were good! The onions were.fresh and crisp and sour kraut was grilled! I did not care for the French fries! We call them "fake fries"! They are not like fresh-cut, they were like mashed potatoes reformed to look like a French fry!

Solid chili dog experience.. a skosh sloppy, but hearty grilled dog, toasted bun was right on time.

This is a great little restaurant! It's just one of those secret hidden places that you kind of don't know unless you're local. It's a little caboose under the Elizabeth Bridge. When you're traveling south on Route 51 and you cross the bridge you get off the exit immediately and the restaurant is sitting right there on your left. The burgers and the food is all fresh made, well flavored, and fair priced. Absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend!

We love it here! The food is simple yet so good. Our large order came out quickly. My picky kids ate every bite! They have the best pumpkin soft serve I have ever tasted!! Best of all, every member of the crew was super kind and down to earth! Going back very soon.

We heard great things about it from people and decided to stop down and grab a bite. One of the best burgers I've had. The meat was seasoned excellent and everything on the burger just came together perfectly. We will definitely be back, may have found a new favorite local burger joint!

GREAT little place to eat! Fast, friendly service. The hot dogs we had were larger than average and DELICIOUS.
Easy to find and get to (right across Market Street from the Rite Aid).
Outdoor seating or take-out.
Plenty of Parking behind the place on their paved lot.
It truly was built from an actual caboose, we watched them converting it when we'd travel through Elizabeth.
Again, GREAT little place to eat!
We will definitely be back.
Highly recommend the Elizabeth Express Kitchen Car

Great place! I love the outdoor atmosphere. Food is good. Made to order and quick! I’ll definitely be back.
Only negative is the soft drinks. Only one size and it’s 16 oz. I wish they had larger options.

This was an amazing little place to randomly stumble upon! I had no idea they opened recently and just happened to drive past the place, charmingly situated on a corner in Elizabeth where you can't miss it. I got the Philly cheesesteak, which was really tasty! Right now they have mainly summer time foods, like hamburgers, hot dogs, and the like.

While I did not stay to sit in the outdoor seating area (as I got my food to-go), it looked like a pleasant place to eat and relax, and which I'd like to return to some time. They definitely were sanitizing quite heavily during the time when I was there. Ample hand sanitizer was available for customers, as well.

I would definitely go back! I would have had no idea that this place was only open a week as of today...the customer service and quality of food evinced a place that had been open for much much longer.

My niece and I were driving past Elizabeth Express today and she asked if we could stop. I’ve been meaning to give it a try ever since it opened so we did. She got the kids angus burger and cheese fries, and I got the angus, mushroom, bacon, pepper jack burger and cheese fries. Everything was excellent. Oh and the dogs are too cute, especially that rottie.

Elizabeth Express is truly a diamond in the rough. Myself and my husband really cannot say enough good things about this place it’s pet friendly the owner came over near closing time while we were finishing up with the dogs they’re awesome super friendly the place is pet friendly it’s an outdoor establishment it’s an old train car the whole experience it’s super nice outside the food is on the next level would never think it was coming out of a train car the french fries are epic there queso cheese is like no other I had to Philly steak and cheese which was freaking phenomenal my husband at the barbecue burger kid had a cheese Burger and the other kid had a chicken strip basket the food was absolutely delicious. And I can’t get over the Decour in the whole experience it’s not just like a food truck there’s like outdoor dining in this awesome gazebo like with bathrooms and stuff but you have to see it you have to experience it awesome cool people awesome place it will now become a regular for us.

We had the cheese steak and a basket of shrimp and fries. Both were good but the shrimp basket was very good. Plenty of shrimp, well breaded and fried perfectly. Go for that if you're not sure.

Owner took an old kitchen train from the 50's and revamped it into a modern day hot dog and burger shop. Everything is fresh, also has outdoor seating. Highly recommend!!!

I've been wanting to try this place. I had a bacon burger and cheese fries, both of which were very good! It's a cool atmosphere. Quoting the famous Arnold "I'll be back"

To the lady complaining about nobody wearing masks including employees: EVERY time I’ve gone passed, the employees most certainly HAVE had their masks on.... furthermore, the order line is OUTSIDE. Third, if you don’t like that customers chose to not wear a mask, there’s nothing you can do. Complaining is only making you look Ridiculous and really, it isn’t needed. Don’t go back then, I’m sure they won’t miss your negativity. Funny not one single other person has commented on the employees not wearing masks.
To Elizabeth Express: thank you for wonderful service and amazing food! Job well done!
