Bob is such a gem, great stories and an even better collection. if you go in with an open mind you'll leave with just what you want. mountains of good stuff, if you have an aversion to the clutter you're not *really* into antiquing. five stars for keeping it real and not trendy.

McDonough’s is an absolutely charming place, and the owner is quick to chat and also dish out a few zingers. He’s lighthearted and kind. To say there are many gems and that those gems are hidden in the open is an understatement. Go analog and check this place out.

Enjoyed my short conversation with Bob, some great pieces are in there! These little shops/collections are hard too find. Fair on prices, you don’t know unless you ask! Will revisit anytime I’m through the area!

Bob was quick to respond to my text requesting an appointment and kind enough to open his shop past his normal hours so my boyfriend and I could visit his shop after our work days. The shop is packed full of items of all sorts and you always feel like you are on the verge of finding a hidden gem. I didn't feel any pressure to rush or to buy, but I received great service when I asked for a specific item. So worth stopping in/texting to set up an appointment, even if it's just to look and chat with Mr. McDonough!

Wandered in while picking up coffee next door and couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. For the record, my wife likes antique shops and I typically don't - I would 100% make this place a destination again, though. Quality antiques, great variety, and a helpful owner - had a nice chat about all kinds of things and learned a lot. There's quite a bit of inventory and it can be tricky navigating the space if it's crowded, but totally worth it.

Highly recommended stop in Lawrenceville, one of, if not the, best antique stores I've ever been in.

We stumbled upon Bob’s shop waiting for a table for dinner and were entranced by the array of items inside. Bob graciously let us peruse his store despite not really being open. The shop includes a wide variety of quality items from furniture, to old photos, to Pittsburgh themed glasses. It is clear he has dedicated his life to giving these items a new life. We walked away with a mirror, a box, and a promise to return again. Bob definitely has many interesting stories and we suggest taking the time to stop in, chat, and leave with a new addition to your home.

My husband and I love antique stores, and this is a museum’s attic! It has everything and anything your heart desires. Yes, you have to go on a treasure hunt, but that’s the fun of it all. I found a lovely tea set that has all the soft colors I need. I’m so happy. Mr. McDonough, owner, is so sweet and resembles Santa Claus...hey, he just might be...ha. ha. Ya’ never know...maybe the elves are in the back in some of the beautiful furniture pieces he has on display. I found so many pieces that I want to buy...I just have to figure out where I want to place them first. When I was a child my grandmother had a pretty magical attic that my cousins and I would play hide-n-seek for hours, and this place brought back a lot of memories. Don’t miss the chance to find your own treasure...laugh...and have a fun time with your significant other or friends in Santa...oh I mean Mr. McDonough’s treasure antique store...just be careful not to step on an elf. Ha. Ha.

My husband and I love McDonough's. It's packed floor to ceiling with neat finds, and you can't beat the prices. Plus, we love chatting with Bob whenever we go.

Bob's store is exactly what I think of when I imagine an antique store. Browsing involves pathfinding, acrobatics, digging and - of course - finding buried treasure... My wife and I found a couple pieces for our new home with fair ease and a great price and enjoyed the stories behind each from Bob's sharp memory. I particularly enjoyed an old Marine belt that functioned exactly like some of my retired Air Force uniform items. Music selection is interesting - perhaps I could call it "noir mindscapes" it sounds like radio, but I swear I've never heard any station like that in Pittsburgh....

At the moment, it takes some courage to wander in what can seem like an abandoned store, but the courage is worth it and all bets say that Bob will come find you just when you're wondering about the backstory of a piece...

I loved everything about my visit! Owner was easy to talk to, gave me great deals on a bundle of things...you have to dig as its a bit cramped but really a diamond in the rough, will be making a weekly stop here

Amazing small business. Bob was funny and personable and the shop had a great vibe to it. Highly recommend stopping by, there are some great small treasurers.

This is a true antique store. It’s exactly what I love about looking for antiques. I would compare it to an estate sale or flea market. If you don’t like the hunt it may not be for you. I’m the type of person that has a lot fun in a store like McDonohough’s.

A spectacular antique store. So many things to find that the store is quite cramped, as it should be. Prices are by far the fairest I’ve seen in the area. Especially for the quality of some of the items he has.

Suprisingly enough they had exactly what I was looking for. Anchor hocking dishes that were priced right. Very friendly.
