We LOVE going to Renee and Bill for music lessons. Our one daughter does piano and the other guitar. They have advanced dramatically in a short amount of time.

My husband and I are really impressed and pleased with From the Top Music Shop's music lessons.

Renee and Bill are extremely friendly and welcoming, too! It's a very comfortable environment.

My girls get so excited to practice their instruments. Renee and Bill do such a good job at encouraging and guiding their students. They make it fun.

It's only been 7 months, and they can play songs independently and read music.

Both of our daughters performed for family and even at school concerts already.

The music shop really is a hidden gem in the Mon Valley.

I wandered into this shop years ago looking to buy a guitar and inquire about lessons for one of my daughters, years later and two more daughters involved we are still there! The owners and instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and the shop offers a wide variety of services to meet your musical needs. Walk in and you immediately feel a real sense of community and friendship….truly a treasure in the Mon Valley!

Over many years I have purchased a number of acoustic and electric guitars from this music shop. Bill and Renee have always been so nice to me and my wife. We are proud to call them our FRIENDS. If you are looking to buy any kind of musical instrument, get one worked on, or take some lessons, this is by far the place to go. Stop by and you will see what I am saying. I’ve been going to the shop weekly since about 2015. My daughters have taken piano, singing and flute lessons, and we have purchased and rented instruments and spent a lot of time in the store. Wonderful people, wonderful services, a real asset to the community.

My daughter has been attending voice lessons with Rosanna for 4 years. My daughter loves taking lessons with her and she gained confidence during her performances. From the Top puts on beautiful shows a few times a year that really showcases the talents of tve children in the area.

I have been a customer since for at least ten yrs. Bill and Renee theowners are very friendly and go out of their way to help you findwhat you need. Nice selection, friendly , honest , atmosphere. I came here to get my instrument repaired. The clerk who waited on me was very knowledgeable and friendly. I was able to try out an instrument of my choice, and was given information about upgrading. Very easy to find, great local shop, I will be returning.

The son of the owner is so helpful and very thoughtful, he helped us pick out the perfect ukulele and we even found a dulcimer! We will always remember our unplanned visit to this gem!

Every time I have had problems with my guitar, it has always been taken care of in a timely manner. The work has been top notch. I would gladly take any of my friends or family there for any of their musical needs. Very good people to do business with.

Loved this shop! I was passing through town for work and had a few days to kill, stopped in and spoke with Renée who guided me to their towards their classical guitars. I found a lovely little guitar not too expensive but with a beautiful warm sound and just right feel. Picked it up and got a nice strap and capo too. Independent music stores are some of my favorite establishments, happy to see this one alive and thriving with music and good energy!

Great local music shop. The employees are very welcoming and the prices are fair. Bought a guitar pedal there earlier today.

My daughter recently decided to take violin lessons and the music teacher recommended renting a violin from this store. I was going to order one from Amazon and I am so glad I didn't! The woman I spoke to over the phone was AMAZING! Unfortunately I don't know much about violins and the woman I spoke to did a PHENOMENAL job at educating me on things I needed to know for violin beginners. When I went into the store, I was greeted instantly by not 1 but 2 gentleman, both very polite. The one gentleman measured my daughter for the violin but the size my daughter needs is currently out of stock. The other gentleman informed me that the size my daughter needs was recently ordered and the instrument would be in within the next day or so and he'd deliver the violin to her school as soon as it arrives at the store! As for the appearance of the store, it was wonderfully maintained, clean, well stocked. If you need anything for your instrument, this is definitely the store to go to!

Wonderful shop with great people. Recently, I started strumming and old, inexpensive ukulele I had laying around the house. I went to this shop to seek some advice on purchasing a better quality instrument. They were really helpful in explaining the differences and played each one to let me hear different tones. They made it possible for me to purchase the correct ukulele base on the sound I liked, and not just the looks. I've been playing it since I got it home, and I'm very happy with my purchase. Thank you!

We drove all the way from Chicago just to go to this music store!

Just kidding, but we are from Chicago, and we did stop by here on our roadtrip to Shenandoah Valley. The owner's son was super friendly and helped my wife and I pick out a ukulele. We also bought a dulcimer that they had randomly and a small harp.

Would visit again. And who knows? Maybe on the way back we will.

Take everything you know about music shops and throw it out the window.

The care that the extremely nice and professional lady gave me today trying to find my new guitar after years of not playing was amazing. I wasn’t pushed into buying something i don’t like or baited into paying more for for something that wasn’t right for me. A huge stigma around music shops is the snobby remarks, a “holier than thou” attitude full of judgement, or the staff only being there to push high ticket sales. This isn’t like those. If you’re on the fence about a new guitar, or just getting into music in general, head down to this shop. You’ll only leave satisfied or inspired, nothing in between.

I get lessons here but today I was very disappointed because my son built 2 decks just to buy a acoustic here and next I went on the website to make sure they are open and it said they were but it also said that the time might change cause it is the 4th of July and I pull up and they are close. My son and I were very disappointed but that does not make them bad people. All of them are nice and they owner is a very nice person I consider you come here to get lessons and this store has very nice prices.

I had a bad experience here in the past and the owner absolutely went out of his way to make it right! The past several times I've gone in, I've been met with knowledgeable and friendly staff that undoubtedly have a passion for music. Great atmosphere, clean store, fantastic stock, and wonderful contribution to our community!
