Don't waste your time if you're a woman with a purse and don't want to potentially be stolen from by the owner/employees! Take your business down to the other antique store with the sweet elderly couple! Or to Rabes, or to quite literally anywhere else!! Owner is a discriminatory snob! Saw many of the same items at the entrance that were there the last time I was here a yr ago!!

Owner came outside the moment I walked up and made a ridiculous remark to me about catching the yard on fire bc I was smoking and there's "dry grass" lol. This isn't Arizona, Janet. Relax.

Barely let me walk thru the door before she demanded I leave my rather small purse with HER. It's a standard size loungefly!! So, small! Claimed there's been theft with "bookbags". My purse is nowhere near the size of a bookbag. Even if it was, not my problem, Susan, get cameras for your business then. Neither my husband nor myself have ever stolen anything in our entire lives. 35 yrs old, homeowners, employed, no criminal records and clearanced volunteers. There's nothing I need to steal, not today, not ever. Nor is my purse big enough to fit anything in, especially with all my belongings in it. I also don't think thieves take time to leave reviews, lol.

Besides that, I don't know YOU, how do I know that this isn't how YOU make up for (obvious) lack of business, by stealing from patrons via them leaving their property in your possession under the guise of "theft"?? If my property suddenly went missing in your possession, would you be liable?? You'd say "not my problem" or deny any theft took place!! Love that double standard, Sharon! I have cash, cards, medication and a life sustaining medication/device in there, and I'm just supposed to hand that over to you? LOL. Absolutely not.

If this IS actually a "policy" of your store, it's funny that you cherry pick which customers to enforce this to. My PURSE was no larger than any normal size hand bag, that just happened to have straps for ease of carry. It's also bizarre that you don't have a small set of lockers/etc., for your patrons to lock up their belongings.. or that you don't invest in some inexpensive surveillance. So, we are supposed to trust YOU with our personal property, but you aren't trusting your patrons to shop in your store without being subject to your fallacious assumptions??

I was going to just put my purse in the car and come back, but I was on a time constraint and parked up the street. As I walked to the car, pondering this ridiculous interaction and discussing it with my husband, we decided to just leave. We agreed she doesn't deserve our business with that type of completely unwarranted attitude and discriminatory behavior.

Stupid move, as I was just over at Rabes a couple wks ago and dropped over $200 I wasn't anticipating on, all bc I drove past and they had something outside I wanted to look at, and all in under 5 mins. The fact that I actually came in there searching for something in particular? I hope someone buys you out, Karen. We won't be back until then.

Toodles.
