I love coming here. It's a beautiful place. Rich with history. I brought my son for his birthday. He loved every minute of the fine dining experience. Every time I am able, I love coming. It is very expensive so plan accordingly.

We visited for a special event with the pianist. I couldn’t be more impressed; food was amazing, staff was exceptional, atmosphere and music was fantastic. It is expensive but you get exactly what you pay for. Overall wonderful evening!

Took my parents here with the family for their anniversary. Our server Alex was awesome, and the food was delicious! The oysters rockefeller were so good we wanted more even after we were full! We also tried the pear sorbet that our server told us was made from the pear tree on property that was over 75 years old. Delicious!

Dear Jason and Staff,
We had the most exceptional event on Saturday 10/7/23 in the Round Room for my daughter Marissa and her Bridal Shower. I felt that you truly listened to all of my concerns, as an anxious Mother of the Bride, and made the experience as simple and relaxing as it could have been for me!

I truly appreciated being able to talk with you both by phone and email to finalize the details, and you made the venue very accessible to me the day before the event. It really helped me to know that my decorations were stored safely overnight, and I didn’t have to unload my vehicle Saturday morning! When I arrived Saturday morning for set-up with my desserts, you and your staff were already making sure that the room was thoroughly vacuumed and that the tables were set-up as we had discussed. We had more than enough room on the extra tables, and everything was in the perfect place. I also loved that you had an elegant chair for Marissa to open gifts in, and the easel you provided was beautiful and stylish! It was wonderful to NOT have to bring items like that to the venue!

Your staff members that served our event were so incredibly kind, sweet, and attentive. I felt they were continually circling the room to bring drinks and cocktails, serving lunch, and clearing plates. Even though I had provided my own chargers, they collected them for me and wiped them down. I also had brought my own blue glassware and glass pillars for centerpieces and they very kindly helped to collect all of that for me to pack back up. They were a joy to work with!! Their service is to be commended!

We received so many compliments from our guests about how incredibly beautiful the room was. The lights around the tree trunks make the room look sensational! Everyone asked me if they were part of the venue, and I was thankful I chose such a perfect place. My daughter and I appreciate everything that you and your staff provided to make our event such a success.

Enchanting home, circa 1930's turned into a restaurant. Build out of barn timbers circa 1700's. Wide variety of choices on the menu. Foie gras decadent, beef cheeks very tender. Service charming.

Phenomenal. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Perhaps the best meal I've ever enjoyed. Valet, host, and waitress were professional and intuitive. Can't wait to return!

The food and cocktails were delicious! The waitress was super kind and attentive. The atmosphere inside was very intimate. And there was a nice ambiance with the wood fire burning and someone playing the piano. Can’t wait to go back in the summer to experience the outside!

Beautiful atmosphere, had the valentines day 6 course menu. Portions could have been a bit larger for price, but overall amazing experience and delicious food! We will definitely be back for events in the future! Thank you for a wonderful night!

We went there last Friday for the first time. Atmosphere is great. It's a house that was made to be like a castle, and has wood beams, tapestries, bookcases, fireplace, multiple rooms - really cool. Our server, Daniela, was fantastic! She's German and we're studying German, and she patiently spoke some with us and gave us some pointers. Food was excellent. I highly recommend the charcuterie plate. Everything on it is made in-house.

We had our second experience at the Chef's table and it was worth the price of admission and more! Staff was amazing as always. Watching your meal be prepared a few feet from you is a sight to behold. Highly recommend this experience for anyone considering it.

The most unique menu in the area and best experience I have ever had from Miami to NYC and in between. Even including international dining - I would choose Hyeholde first, any day. Personal, family, business events…the consistency is unbelievable! A hidden gem that has no equal.

Overall this restaurant gives you all the things you’re looking for when envisioning a date night or celebration. Hill entrance with valet. Greeted with coat check and brought to table with a great ambiance and candle lit table. The food could have been better, but wasn’t bad. Expensive, but worth the great service and mood. Didn’t get great pictures to give this restaurant justice.

As a repeating customer, we invited friends, who were never at Hydeholde Restaurant, to join us as a party of four for our annual get together for fine outdoor dining this time of year. This five-star plus historical restaurant, locally-owned, is quietly off the path most traveled in the one of the nooks and crannies of Pittsburgh that consistently serves the best of the best dishes in the form of spreads, appetizers, salads, soups, entrees, deserts and speciality drinks, all of which are freshly made. Daniela, our proudly-German waitress, provided impeccable attention to our table and those around us, including the tasks of replenishing the firewood to maintain a pleasant outdoor fire for all to enjoy. Our waitress, Daniela, uniquely provided above-and-beyond service to our party that was exceptionally professional, thoughtful, courteous, accommodating, caring, kind, considerate, respectful, attentive and passionate with sprinkles of delightful humor with interesting, enlightening and informative information on the areas of baroque Germany where she visits her family. This restaurant is indeed a rare, precious gem conveniently located off Parkway West near the former Greater Pittsburgh Airport. For those looking for a ten-star local restaurant, unlike any other, that serves up exquisite dishes and drinks, surrounded by the charm of Old Europe, this is it . Our sincere thanks and gratitude to our exceptional waitress, Daniela, and the staff at the Hydeholde, all of whom graciously provided outstanding service.

Update: Still the best place to eat in Pittsburgh.

The Hyeholde is my favorite place to eat around Pittsburgh. My husband and I always celebrate our wedding anniversaries here. We usually opt to do the outdoor picnic, and it is always outstanding. We enjoy the privacy and being able to feel like we're in the forest for dinner. The chef let us order lamb for our picnic, even though it wasn't on the menu. Every single thing we ate was incredibly fresh and the service is wonderful.

The Hyeholde is back!

In 1931 "It began with a romance the day William Kryskill told his bride that someday he would build her a castle on the crest of a cornfield where they stood. The cornfield became the grounds now surrounding Hyeholde. Hyeholde is the castle. What he did not tell her was that they were going to build this dream with their own hands. It took them seven years."(Hyeholde, History of) After a short Summer hiatus, The Hyeholde is back to serving guests for it's 84th year. In my opinion, this is the most romantic, intimate fine dining experience you will find in the Pittsburgh area. You will find this French style cottage nestled in the heart of Moon Township.

A group of four of us had the pleasure of dining there on their first night of service, which was Tuesday evening. Our waitress, Daniella, was the sweetest most attentive server I have had in quite sometime. Her food and drink recommendations were spot on for our little evening. She even shared her elderberry syrup recipe, in exchange for some restaurant recommendations! Our night started with the Charcuterie, Cheese, and Giardiniera plates, sorry no pics of those, or the Bone Marrow Toast come to think of it. Sigh. However I do have photos of the Tartare, Entrées, and Desserts.

There is so much charm packed onto these grounds it's quite amazing. For starters, you can only call and make reservations over the telephone, as it is all hand-written in their book. So many different rooms or wings packed into the main building, consisting of many different levels, including a tunnel underneath the driveway. You can indulge in private picnics, from modestly on a blanket, to extravagant silver platter seated ones all over the sprawling property. They produce their very own honey on the property as well. During the Winter you can take part in their Fire & Ice dinners on the fireplace laden patio, covered in blankets, with heaters abound. Lastly they also offer, the ever-coveted, Chef's Table. Which I'm positive that Chef O'Brien, and his crew will surely take care of you!
