Stepping Stones Psychiatric Care

Absolutely an A+ experience. In urgent need, Caroline made me feel safe and comfortable over the phone and immediately made sure I got an appointment within hours. Kate was very professional and caring about me and my situation and made me feel safe and comfortable.

In times of crisis, it’s people like Caroline, with no judgement, that show a true genuine care and understanding that we are all humans and sometimes we need help.

I appreciate this office and look forward to continuing my care here.

The staff there are fantastic. Carolyn and Heather go out of their way to make sure you get your appointments, refills, authorizations and referrals as quick as possible. So much so that I made a point today to come on here at Google Search and tell you. Ha ha ha As for Dr Shaikh himself, he is a doctor that actually cares and listens to you. He doesn’t just throw a bunch of pills at you and not take the time to hear what’s going on. I can’t stress enough how great the people are here. If you’re looking for your new psychiatric doctor, you just found him.

Writing this in 2024. Was able to schedule and have a visit within 48 hours of my first call to the office. Mostly have only interacted with Sumiyah and Caroline. I felt that they were very patient and understanding. Absolutely no complaints and not sure what some of the negative reviews are about because my experiences have been the polar opposite. I would highly recommend Stepping Stones

Ive been seen by this practice for a couple years and I feel that Dr. Shaikh, PA-C Kate and PA-C Sumiyah are all kind, understanding, caring, and helpful people who truly want to and try to help their patients!   In addition, I feel the same about Caroline and the other members of the front office staff with whom I’ve communicated. I’ve spoken with Caroline the most, and she has always been great. Plus, when complicated insurance issues came up, she went over the top both in handling and resolving the situation and in keeping informed!

This place has really came around ever since Caroline has gotten involved. She is truly a blessing to this place. You can tell she deeply care about each and every patient here. I can say enough good things about this practice and Caroline! Keep up the good work!

Stepping Stones has provided me great care. I feel listened to and they treat me with empathy. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Anytime I need to call with questions they have been easy to reach.

Dr. Shaikh was very easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable. Scheduling an appointment was fast and easy without a long wait like other practices. I heard from someone right away to get me scheduled!

My former psychiatrist retired and they got me in within a week. Both Dr. shaikh and counselor Larissa are phenomenal! Did not feel rushed, I felt like I was actually heard instead of just being a number. Front desk staff is very kind and helpful as well.

Amazing! Probably the best psych experience I’ve ever had.. I have finally found somewhere I like! From the beginning when I filed out the little thing on their website they reached out to me the very next day and got me scheduled.. my appt would have been that day if my schedule would have allowed so they got me in a few days later but anywhere I’ve tried I’m told there is a waiting list or the first available is 2months out. Loved the staff and the doctor! They took their time and really listened to me And really cared. Can’t wait until their therapist is credentialed with my insurance bc I will be doing that as well thru them😁

I've been with doctor Shaikh now for 4 years. He is by for the best Psychiatrist I have ever had takes. His time goes over every symptom. I have every diagnosis I have every time he always makes time for me like no one else ever has. His staff is friendly courteous and understanding. They care like no others. Especially Heather,Caroline and Samiah.. Dr Shaikhs Daughter is also especially talented at reading my needs..The PA kate is also wonderful at doing her job... I will go to no other psychiatrist in the pittsburgh areano matter what I recommend this company Highly as I have been in psycher care since. I've been 8 years old and like I said. This is by for the best doctor i've ever had thank you.. If you need help call these people they will help you like no other

The doctors and staff are very helpful. My family and I have been patients for 3+ years. Caroline goes above and beyond to get the information I need or to handle a situation I have. She never hesitate to help.

Dr Shaikh and the staff at Stepping Stones are some of the most amazing people you will ever meet and get care from. They are kind, understanding, and very knowledgeable. If you need help they are the ones to ask for it. God Bless.

We had a very pleasant experience at the Stepping Stones office with Dr. Shaikh and his office staff. It was our daughter’s first visit and Dr. Shaikh spent a lot of time with her and made her feel very comfortable. It was pleasure meeting Caroline and Jake! They were very helpful and both had great social skills and we all felt comfortable.

We are so thankful to have discovered this practice! Everyone on staff has treated us with dignity and respect and been quite diligent when it comes to privacy. We greatly appreciate Caroline’s expertise and efforts to make sure every I is dotted and every T is crossed! Dr. Shaikh does not hesitate to put in whatever time is needed to fully listen and develop a plan for care. He made us feel comfortable from the moment we met him. I was trying to get my mental health in line and have been on multiple waiting lists with no return call! I received a call back and scheduled an appointment on the same call! Caroline was over the top kind an helpful with taking insurance info. And explaining anything I had questions on. I would recommend this place hands down!

I have been coming to Stepping Stones for over a year now, after endlessly searching for psych help from people who actually care and understand without judgement, I found them. Now, that they have an entire new staff, I have never felt more compassion, understanding, and for ONCE, I didn't feel like I was being looked at as another statistic. This is VERY hard to find these days.

The women at the front desk are so so wonderful and kind, especially Caroline! They actually listen to me as a patient AND person!... not another statistic and you're not stereotyped.
