Select Speciality Hospital is top notch. My elderly mother received excellent care during her recent stay. I felt confident about her care while she was under their care. Special recognition to many but especially Nancy Stephen’s the director of case management who worked hard to get my mom in the next proper facility for her full recovery. She cares so much to go the extra mile. Honestly it made a huge difference towards the eventual destination of home for my mom. Home is absolutely where we all was her to be! THANK YOU and know y’all make a difference in others lives.

My wife received excellent care. Our family has nothing but good to say about the nurses and staff. The wound care she received was exceptional. All doctors,nurses and staff were kind and caring. Our thanks also to the social worker that arranged her discharge.

Select Specialty Hospital in Pittsburgh recently cared for a friend of ours who went through cancer surgery. The staff at Select Specialty Hospital were all remarkable people. One person that went “above and beyond” was Nancy Stevens, our friend’s Case Manager. She made extraordinary efforts to ensure that his needs were met during his stay. She then expended time and resources to find him a rehabilitation facility near his home in NW PA to make it easier for friends and family to visit him. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Select Specialty Hospital to anyone!

I'm here to tell you about my stay at Select Specialty Hospital located in Pittsburgh, Pa. I have been here for 7 weeks, but it doesn't feel like it. All of the staff are so tuned in to detail whenever they take care of you. Also, the staff are so compassionate, friendly, and make you feel at home here. It's the most wonderful hospital I've ever had to stay at! They see that even the smallest test be done if necessary. I can't begin to put into words how really good this hospital is! I would recommend it to anyone. It's worth it. I live in upstate NY , but I'm here. Everyone here is fantastic! I would like to add that miracles happen here and I feel like I have my life back!

I would like give my special thanks to Select Specialty Hospital for taking great care of my wife Donna Hinton. The doctors, nurses, CNAs, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists provided excellent care to Donna. Not only were they superb in their care, they were very kind and considerate. Each one of them explained in great detail what they were doing when they were working with her. I would also like to express my gratitude to Chrissy, the social worker for taking the time out of her schedule for me to arrange a reasonable place to stay while I was here with Donna. I would also like to express my special gratitude to Matt, Danielle, and Rachel for going above and beyond explaining things in great detail and their genuine affection towards Donna and myself. Although we have a long battle ahead of us, I would like to thank Select Specialty Hospital and their staff for jump starting her progress to a full recovery. Our experience at select specialty hospital was great! The staff was very caring and compassionate towards me and my family member! The case workers and doctors did everything to get us home in a safe and timely manner! The staff made my husbands recovery as smooth as they could and we appreciate it!

My mom is currently a patient here but getting ready for discharge to rehab! The staff here are WONDERFUL and they don't ignore your family members. They are wonderful at what they do and after being in ICUs at multiple hospitals for 3 months, they rehabilitated my mom and we're able to remove her tracheostomy! Thank you for giving me my mom back! One of her awesome CNAs was RON - he is an ANGEL! Some of her awesome nurses were Kiwi, Loraine and Bill. Her respiratory therapist Dan was an absolute angel and he loves what he does. Tasha the lead case manager will do anything she can to help ensure your questions are answered and problems are addressed.

The staff was very kind, compassionate and patient. They all worked together, as a team, to provide the best care and help guide us in the direction we needed. We received quality care in order to help my mom progress in the direction she needed to recover. We will miss them deeply and would recommend to future patients.

Our stay here and the care given has been wonderful. The staff are always friendly and caring. You have great nurses, nursing assistants, physical therapy, and wound care. Good selection of menu choices, very clean rooms, and all around attentive staff to care for my needs. Thank you for helping me progress to our next phase of recovery!

First thing I would like to say is the caseworker Tasha is absolutely amazing and i wouldn’t of been able to get thru my dads stay without her she seriously has the biggest heart and Truly cares and the staff and Ceo Rose made me feel so comfortable knowing my dad was in good hands. Some of the staff that i truly appreciated the most Charai❤ Rebecca❤ Michael ❤ and Missy ❤ and so many of the respiratory therapist were my dad‘s biggest supporters!And can’t forget about the PT guys my dad loved the guy with the pony tail! Always said good things!! He wouldn’t of got where he is without you! And you all are very very much appreciated!!!! Good team of nurses and aides here! much love to all of you guys!!! After meeting with the CEO, Rose, Matt, PT and Tasha, Case Director, our needs were taken into consideration and things improved dramatically.

My 82 year old mom was a patient at Select Specialty hospital from the end of January-June. This was following about an approximately month long stay in ICU due to pauses and seizures in her heart which necessitated her being intubated and ventilated, followed by a tracheostomy and insertion of a feeding tube. She was essentially in a coma for a few weeks, and doctors were not certain neurologically if she would ever recover. Upon admittance to Select Specialty she was starting to show movement (opening eyes, wiggling toes, etc). At Select Specialty she really took off recovery wise and is now fully alert, responsive, eating on her own, talking,etc. From the nurses, to the CNAs, respiratory therapsits, physical therapists, and social worker, everyone there was very kind and attentive. Staff is very responsive and on top of things when it comes to patient care and very caring towards their patients. The only reason I can not give 5 stars is that communication with the doctors was a challenge and I sensed a disconnect between those working the 'front lines' (nurses, CNA's, respitatory therapists) on how a patient is actually progressing. But I guess this is an issue/challenge at most hospitals. Continue the great work overall!

I spent over 9 weeks in this hospital. Despite a handful of bad experiences, my nurses and aides were very good. They made the time that I had to wait between surgeries bearable. Being that I was not always a model patient and I know that I could be frustrating at times, I feel that overall I was treated in a caring manner. I thank the men and the women of this hospital for handling me with the dignity that I deserved.

Everyone here treated me. With kindness and respect even if. I got a little grumpy changed Bandag regularly meds on time I would recommend it hospital to everyone that needs special care yours truly

They really wanted me gone. I have a tumor which sometimes leads to me being delirious an I guess hard to manage Staff was okay, doctors are better!

Long, but honest review.. I am seriously shocked there are even good reviews about this place. I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. The first day my dad got transferred here I went into his bathroom to get some warm water to get him cleaned up and sure enough there was no hot water, no shower head in the shower, the bathroom looked like it had not even been clean. The staff is so rude. The lack of communication within staff is disturbing. There's zero compassion. No one was on the same page when it came to my fathers care. I truly worried about my fathers well being at this place. I had to have countless meetings with staff to express my concerns and still nothing was ever done about it. I got some lousy apology letter in the mail. Apologies mean nothing if you don't fix what the issue is. Every time I came to visit my dad he was curled up in a ball sleeping, totally out of it. I would ask staff about his mental status and they would reply "we don't know his base line" I understand that but at what point do you call family to ask them what his base line is or let them know there was change in his mental status. I was not asking much from a facility who is supposed to be caring for my father to just let me know when there was some changes with his health. I had to ask the Doctor to do further testing because I knew something wasn't right and sure enough my Dad ended up with aspiration pneumonia and a UTI. My dad was supposed to be 1 on 1 feeds and nearly every time I went to visit his tray was just sitting there. I asked to speak to his nurse and she said to me "I shouldn't have answered your call I'm trying to eat a sandwich" This facility and the staff is an embarrassment. I finally was able to get my dad transferred back to shadyside hospital and there has been a huge difference in my dads health already. When my dad got transferred they did not send his belongings with him and noticed there were belongings of his missing. If you love your family member DO NOT SEND THEM HERE! This place is nothing but a headache and pure chaos. They will neglect your loved one. The staff needs serious training on how to properly care for patients. They act like you're inconveniencing them when you just simply want an update on your family member. I couldn't get the decency of the staff to actually walk into the room and introduce themselves instead they would just talk to you from the hall. I could go on and on about this place but I'll end it with this facility really needs to do better. As a family member I should not have to tell staff how to be a decent human being.

Select specialty hospital at Montefiore would not recommend it to my worst enemy. Communication non existent, left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing
