I believe this is a very good psychiatrist. I've been seeing him for about 4 months. My family Dr. had given me a prescription that I felt was not working. I went to Dr. Sarma after doing a decent amount of research on what I felt my problem was and what I felt I needed. When Dr. Sarma interviewed me and convinced me that I had misdiagnosed myself, I agreed to take the medication as he prescribed. I was to take the same medicine but the whole dose once a day. The first day I was so dizzy I could barely sit up. I could feel something happening to my brain.
The 2nd day I felt more normal than I had in at least 2 years. The meds have been working since that day. I have the ability to concentrate on work and handle stress as well as have better energy just as both Dr's expected.
When I met Dr. Sarma I was complaining about work and how it's changed and how much work there is and how no one cares and how close I am to retirement and how unfair it all is and he said " if you're being abused, why not quit and do something else". Now you can take that a bunch of different ways but the truth is..... it's true. He's a very good Dr. Give him a chance. He gets to the point.

Dr. Sarma called me to establish me at patient today. After asking me what my current prescriptions are he then dove right into asking about past traumas and family history. He insensitively asked me specific questions about my trauma, which forces one to relive it. He sat there on the phone as I had to once again repeat and explain familial and relationship trauma instead of telling me AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PHONE CALL that he would NOT prescribe me one of my medications that changed my life for the better. He then told me that being a medicinal cannabis patient would lead me into a life of addiction. 0 stars, would not recommend.

Dr. Sarma treated my teenage son for severe depression and anxiety. After seeing Dr. Sarma for ~1 year, I have to say that you should AVOID this practice at all costs. Mental health issues are very serious (often times a matter of life and death), and Sarma did not put the necessary effort into my son. He dragged his feet on filling out prescriptions, was hard to get ahold of when prescriptions expired, and did not listen to feedback about which medications we felt were helping/hurting. I sat there while he told my child that he thought it was all an act to get out of going to school. Mental health issues are real! And Sarma's dismissive attitude to my son could have cost him his life. Fortunately for us, we decided to go with a differnt practice/program.

Think twice before seeing Sarma!
