Hotel Indigo Pittsburgh University-Oakland, an IHG Hotel

Great stay, room was clean. The AC cooled the room down very slowly, but by late evening, the room was relatively comfortable.

The main shower head wouldn't turn on, so I had to use the handheld, which was not a big concern.

The room number was 425. Nice view opposite of the main road/highway therefore also relatively noise free.

The bar lacked an ingredient for my Bourbon Sour, but the drink was still great.

Will be back on my next visit to Pittsburgh.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The room was perfect. The lobby is amazing. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel is that you have to pay $30 to park on the property... You think that would be included with the price you pay to stay there. I'm not going to really complain because I did not have to pay for the room because of loyalty points. The front desk clerk upon check out was amazing. He was super kind and helped with some questions we had, and he took care of everything for us.

Had an amazing 3-night stay with friends at this hotel. The lobby was very modern and clean, with receptionists being super friendly and helpful. Our rooms were clean with comfy beds. There was adjacent hotel parking but had to pay a fee for it. Also, there was a restaurant inside the hotel, serving great breakfast.

Overall, it was an excellent hotel and will stay again when I travel back to Pittsburgh!

Hotel Indigo in Oakland is my home away from home when I’m working in Pittsburgh. Which is a LOT (weekly). I’m very selective about hotel choices when I travel. I won’t stay anywhere else when I’m in town for a few reasons: comfort, courtesy, convenience, and cuisine. I sleep well. I’m treated well and made to feel welcome. And I can be at one of any number of work sites in no time flat. The hotel gives off a very Pittsburgh vibe - which is very cool. I checked out this morning, but if I hadn’t, I’d be ordering the best fish sandwich ever or pierogies for Lent and a delicious glass of wine at the Eliza. And sleep til noon tomorrow!

Haven't been to Pittsburgh in a while, but this Hotel is a true industrial gem. The furnishings are fantastic, the exposed brick and concrete walls and ceilings are a engineers dream. The staff are VERY friendly, helpful, professional and informative. The room was very clean modern and industrial design. I would definitely stay here again.

We arrived very late for check-in and the young lady at the desk was very friendly, pleasant and energetic. She already had our room keys ready.

If you're looking for a place off the beaten path, but in a good area, with a shuttle bus to take you around (Thanks Chris). Check Hotel Indigo, you'll thank me 🤗

Pittsburgh was a 'pit stop', but we ended up extending our stay here another night as we very much enjoyed our room and the hotel. I highly recommend getting one of the penthouse suites. The bathroom and river view were the highlight of our stay. Our blue heeler also very much enjoyed watching the river and having room to play. The staff was very accommodating and we very much appreciate them working with us. If in Pittsburgh again, we will definitely stay here.

We loved the decor and the location of this hotel. We might have gotten an upgrade as our room was huge with a separate living room. The bathroom was spacious with strong hot water pressure! Even though our room faced the Highway, we didn’t have any noise issues. The front desk staff was nice and efficient. She suggested that we leave our car at the garage next to the hotel for $5/night (no in and out privileges) vs. $30/day at the hotel lot (with in and out privileges) since we were only here for one night. Lastly, we enjoyed the walking trails by the hotel.

One of the cleanest hotels in the city!! Even the hallways and shared spaces are pretty fresh.

Great location! Beautiful sidewalks and walkways around, take a walk on the hot metal bridge and view the city! There’s bikes to rent right out front so me and my bf went for a night bike ride, the location felt very safe. The hotel was beautiful! This was our first stay at an indigo hotel so we didn’t know what to expect. They must be new, or they just maintain it very well! The rooms and lobby were so neat and clean. We travel for work and stay in many hotels, this one was so clean and comfy. And the staff was wonderful. There is also easy parking right beside the hotel that you have to have to be a guest to access. That was very nice being in the city. We have found our go-to Pittsburgh hotel! We will definitely return when back in the area!

Great experience overall! The hotel is very new. Many interesting decorations are displayed at the lobby, telling the history of Pittsburgh as a metal city. The room is spacious and clean with carpetless floor. We booked a river view room and it's quiet. Rooftop patio and gym are located on the 6th floor. Most importantly, the hotel is dog-friendly! They charge $75 pet fee though. There is plenty of outdoor space and trails to walk your dog.

The location is great too, the tourist attractions are within 20 mins drive. The neighborhood is very safe since it seems to be in a technology park with office buildings around it. As for parking, just park at the garage next to the hotel to save money :)

If you're looking for a place that feels like home and is close enough to all the fun things around town, then look no further than this hotel. We had such an amazing time here - our room felt spacious with everything we needed during our stay! The staff were also so warm & welcoming when they greeted us at check-in; it made me wish I could have found some way back up into those rafters just so see how nicely decorated every inch of space must be from top down below... I seriously can't think about anything negative whatsoever because there wasn’t one thing wrong or inconvenient

I stayed here for three nights and overall it was a very good experience. I was able to get a big discount because I was in Pittsburgh for medical reasons, and this was very helpful. Everyone was great who worked there and the rooms were spacious and nice. We loved the view from our window of the river and the park near the University building across the street. The only small issues we had were there are no microwaves in the rooms and you have to use a little one downstairs in the shop. The other thing was on Friday night it was loud as there was a party downstairs, but it did get quiet by midnight. Overall a very good experience, and it’s in a great location, that make it easy to get to different parts of the city.

Normally, I do not write reviews of hotels. But after having had such horrible experiences with hotels on our road trip this year, I thought it was best to review the ONE hotel that got everything right. Customer service: 10 out of 5! Yes! Maya is that amazing at what she does and whomever hired her saw how wonderful of a person she truly is! Apart from greeting everyone with a smile, she made sure that our stay was beyond perfect! Hotel was super clean, very simple (keeps things even more clean) and yes, I’m one of those that rigorously checks sheets, comforters, mattresses, etc. But again, I am going to circle back to Maya’s excellent customer service. We have driven through a total of 33 states and have stayed in over well 40 hotels and she has set the bar pretty high. Thank you Maya for such a wonderful experience!

Clean, mostly quiet. A few times I could hear dogs barking, mostly when I was getting on or off the elevator.

Kitchen was open and selections were limited but tasty. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The deck view was really nice and there wasn't a lot of people up there during my visit.

Water heated up rather quickly and the metal structures were cool to look at.

Parking gets tough at night as the lot is a little small.

Great spot! Lots of art that reflects the area. Our room was clean and modern. If I had any complaint at all, just restock on beer. That aside, staff was very courteous and we enjoyed our stay.
