The National Hotel

The new National is beautiful. Updated style, but still has the original historic charm. Super attentive service. Best cocktails in the area, very creative. Great draft beer selection. Decent Asian fusion menu. Love the appetizers. Our go-to for excellent people watching from the porch!

We had a wonderful experience here Saturday night. The bar and the restaurant were filled to capacity. Even without a reservation, they sat us within minutes. There was a jazz band playing in the bar which made for nice background music. It was a little loud in the dining room but understandable with the music and the crowd. Cocktail list was creative and well executed. All of our apps and entrees were fresh and full of flavor. The new owners, who also run Bamboo House on the north side of town, have done a great job with the renovations and updates. The place feels historic and current at the same time. Cannot wait to come back, especially in the spring, to sit on the front porch and enjoy al fresco dining. This review does not include anything about the hotel rooms as we did not stay over.

Was a great atmosphere with polite staff. Both Cara and Reagan were fantastic. They even had my favorite Gin in stock (Monkey 47), which was a pleasant surprise. There was also very relaxing live music that added to the experience.
It was very clean and neat as well.
I would recommend for both locals and travelers

Reviewing the restaurant.. Excellent food and service. Simple Asian inspired menu. Had the Ramen. Delicious. Chicken burger. Delicious. Cara was great with her little smoke bubble machine.

Beautifully renovated room in an old boutique hotel. Warm and cozy bar with excellent hand crafted cocktails and live music. The location is perfect for walking around the quaint downtown in Frenchtown. Close to the river and the canal trail.

The food was surprisingly good. The Korean crispy chicken sandwich was Devine. Shrimp dumplings and veggie Raman noodles also so tasty.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this gorgeous establishment, our suite was beyond amazing, clean, private, and romantic, every detail has been covered, the decor simply elegant!! Cara, thank you for your hospitality, evening jazz music was spectacular!

Really like this place on a Friday or Saturday evening. Live music, and you can order food from one of the best sushi places around and have it delivered.
Staff is very accommodating.

Incredible owner who has done a great job of bringing the National hotel back to life.Cara and her family have created a truly unique place to go. Both bars still reflect the old hotel with a some added upgrades for a more comfortable environment. The updated menu is unique and delicious. It was obviously created with great care. Not to be left out ,the service was top notch as well. This is a must stop if in town, the National Hotel will not let you down.

Beautiful renovation of this historic hotel and restaurant. Creative cocktails, solid wine list, and familiar live music performances. Nice to have an upscale watering hole back in town. Looking forward to the restaurant opening soon.

If I could give this establishment more than a 5 star review I would. The room was delightful, the dinner was delish, and the bar was everything we could have hoped for for an evening out. Will we stay here again? Absolutely! This was the best valentines experience I could have asked for from start to finish. The staff truly went above and beyond in every way possible. Marlon has done such an incredible job and offers spectacular service from booking until check out.
