Very cute place for smaller parties. The is a full bar but no draft beer. The food was great and the service was nice. Only knock is the location is up a hill in the dark but it is wheelchair accessible and has wheelchair bathrooms too.

First time visit on February 7 as I was visiting family and am from the Midwest. Menu had a nice variety of dishes which were described well. Our server, Teena Marie was engaged, enthusiastic and cheerful. She helped us with recommendations which were all excellent. Food was tender, all had correct temperature and all dishes tasted very good. Wine selection was good and we had two bottles of an excellent Riesling. I would certainly recommend a visit.

The food was so good. The mussels in a red curry sauce are amazing, perfectly cooked mussels in a delicious sauce- if I had a spoon I would have finished the broth like a soup! I had the chicken thighs- simple ingredients elevated to deliciousness! So good! Our server was on point! I can’t wait to go back and try the Cod cakes. I just wished that the banana fosters bread pudding actually came with banana fosters sauce..

The restaurant has a lot of space with large dining area and a smaller room with several tables. We dined in the smaller room and found it much quieter and more private experience compared to the main area.
We ordered duck confit bruschetta as an appetizer and cod cakes and short ribs as our mains. All dishes were really good! I was a little hesitant about ordering the cod cakes because it is deep fried. However, there was no sign of greasiness or overcooking in the dish. Juicy and tender - this is how i would describe them. The portions were large enough and we were too full to have a dessert.
If you are planning to dine with kids, the kids menu is not listed on the website. However, the restaurant offers 3 kids options: pasta with butter, pasta with red sauce, and chicken tenders with french fries. My daughter had pasta and butter and said it was good.

Update 12/8/23: E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles!!! We love Leigh who always brings a personal touch to the dining experience.

Update 6/17/22: Elixir reopened!! This is such a great restaurant in our neighborhood. Perfect balance between fine dining and a casual atmosphere. Chris the chef does an amazing job every time.

Delicious food and attentive service. We had the Duck Confit and Cauliflower Bisque to start - duck was tender, soup was creamy. Shrimp and Mussel Fra Diavolo pasta was perfect (from Lucy's in Boston's North End), Beef Short Rib was tender, and the Pork Madeira was excellent and complemented by a poached pear. We'll be back for sure.
We came back and tried the Mahi-Mahi tacos: fantastic, especially the carrot and cilantro slaw topping. The bean and plantain rice was delicious, too.

What a great spot in White River Junction! Delicious food and lovely ambiance. This is clearly the place to be on a Friday night but they had seating at the bar and we were able to sit even without a reservation. The food was seasonal and delicious - ordered the beef short ribs and the steak. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

The atmosphere was cozy yet elevated, and looks like a great date spot. The menu looks like it is ever changing but always has a great variety with many creative seafood menu items (mussels in a coconut-red curry sauce, Atlantic cod cakes, and seared Faroe island salmon). We ate at the bar and the service was perfect, and the drink was strong and tasty. I can’t believe it took me so long to come here for dinner OR drinks!

Stopped here on a recommendation. This place is amazing! The atmosphere is warm, cozy and inviting. Feels very comfortable when you walk in. The staff was both friendly and attentive, they pay attention to the details which make the dining experience all the better. Finally THE FOOD....wow! Everything was delicious, but I especially loved the mussels. You can't go wrong at this place and I highly recommend it if you are in the area.

Staff was really friendly. Food was great, and so were the drinks. We sat at the bar and enjoyed our dinner. We got there around 7pm and if you weren't at the bar, you probably would have needed reservations , as it was a full house (on a Friday). Only downside is, they were a little stingy with the bread (which was also delicious). Overall food was great, as was service and I'd definitely go back.

My wife and I sat at the bar till our table was ready; enjoy a couple cocktails. Had a great conversation with the folks sitting there. And an absolutely delicious meal.

Don't let the outside fool you, this place is incredible. The food is top notch and the wine choices are very good. I had the filet with mashed potatoes and beans. It was the best filet mignon I've ever had. My wife had the salmon which was equally amazing. We split the mussels. I'm not a seafood guy, but these were amazing. Do yourself a favor and splurge on a 3 course meal here

Elixir is a high quality restaurant in downtown WRJ so make sure you get a reservation and call ahead. I loved the risotto which they change every week. Their truffle fries were also very tasty. I would come here again for a nice dinner and drinks.

Elixir is an upscale restaurant in White River Junction. Their food is absolutely delicious! There is a great selection of wine to choose from that pair well with any dish. The staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly. The mussels are an amazing appetizer to start with. The come in this delicious curry sauce that you will keep eating after all the mussels are gone. They also have great homemade desserts!

We were next door at River Roost brewery and got hungry. We walk in and this place looks like it's very upscale. We find a seat at the bar and the friendly bartender brings us some menus. It's here that we realized how good the place was because everything was really affordable. We ordered the truffle fries, duck confit tart (sooooo good!), elixir salad, and shrimp scampi. Everything was top notch and service was fast. The total bill incl drinks ended up being under $70. They have a rotating tap list with local VT brews as well.

What a gem, hidden in plain sight in the old freight house in WRJ! The atmosphere is intimate but not stuffy, service was impeccable and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. We are grateful for the recommendation from the lovely woman at the Norwich Bookstore "Brenna"! As out of town visitors we may never had found this fantastic restaurant ourselves...A MUST!!

Food was incredible and waitstaff knew their dishes and were very informative. I wish we lived closer as this would definitely be one of my favorite restaurants
