My girlfriend and I were in the area Friday and found ourselves here for the night. I'm not gonna lie we were a little sketched out at first but we ended up really enjoying our stay here. The room was big and very clean. This is really an amazing old building with some really cool history not to mention it is located in the perfect spot. I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know . You really can't beat it especially for the price! So anyone in the area, if there is a room available do not hesitate to stay here, I think you'll really enjoy it!

This is a very neat hotel with lots of character. It's in a historic building smack dab in downtown White River Junction.

Let's get the bad out of the way. Whether these are bad or not really depends on your outlook:

- The building is old, and the common area floors creak as you step.
- The rooms are fairly small and simple. If you're used to modern motel amenities you might be disappointed.
- You hear a bit more noise than modern buildings.
- There's no breakfast included.

Now onto the good (and great):

- The staff is wonderful.
- The building is historic and gorgeous. It has character and class.
- The amenities are well-chosen and tasteful. It's little things like local soap in the bathroom, and nice bath towels, and comfortable sheets on the bed.
- Our room was perfectly sized for an overnight stay. I have a bias against the large suites that are becoming more common nowadays.
- Our bathroom was generously sized, not just an oversized closet.
- You're situated in the center of downtown, steps from pretty much anything. There are great restaurants and neat little shops within a couple of minutes walk.

The ceilings are super high, 8 feet in the rooms and higher in the lobby, which helps with noise and gives everything an open feel.

While we could hear people outside our room by the sound of the floor creaks, we weren't bothered by the sounds of people in other rooms.

The night we stayed there was a party in the function room of the hotel. It was a little loud but it didn't keep us up. I assume it ended by 11 pm but I was asleep an hour before that.

I stay in a hotel an average of 120 nights a year and while staying at a cookie cutter Hampton Inn or Courtyard and getting my free bottle of water and bag of chips for being a Diamond level guest is nice, I really love it when I have the opportunity to stay somewhere like the Hotel Coolidge.

Historic building, walking distance to restaurants and shops (and Amtrak), and a short drive to just about anything you'd want in Lebanon, NH across the river. It is about a 10 minute drive from the Lebanon Airport.

I had a King Suite with separate living room and one and 1/2 baths. Very clean and furnishings in good repair. It was nice to have a minifridge and microwave in the room, hidden away in a little wet bar closet. It's also great to be able to relax and watch TV in a hotel room without sitting on a bed or a rolling desk chair like most hotels. I stayed on a cold night in February and appreciated the two rolling electric heaters in the room to regulate the temperature. Impressive building with friendly staff at check-in, and at check-out even at 5am. Free coffee and water is available in the lobby. I thought it was very good value at the price. The only very minor challenge is parking on a busy night downtown. The hotel does have parking behind the building but it is limited (and it had recently snowed so not everyone was in the marked spaces) but I was able to find a spot on the street that was fine for the night.

Hotels like this are vital to keeping historic downtowns alive and I am happy to be able to be a patron. I've also posted recommendation on an Amtrak group I am in as this would be a perfect weekend excursion up from NYC on the train.

The staff were all wonderful, very friendly. We arrived later at night and Andrew was especially helpful and welcoming. It was great to have coffee, tea and ice water available all day. The beds were very comfortable. The overall atmosphere was unaffected and charming with all the turn of the century peculiarities.

We loved the hotel as well as everything the town had to offer: food, shops, people.... We would definitely come again and recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

Such a gem! Loved the magic of this special place. Not very comfortable beds but the magic of the location, the rambling building. and friendly staff made our stay so fun. Really feels like you are on the set of an old movie. Great fire place with coffee table books to enjoy.

Old building, but not exactly, in a falling apart kind of way. Just old and historical feeling. Like a "this place feels like people probably died in here but that's cool" kind of vibe. There were actually 2 rooms for each room number connected by the bathroom. So could be suitable for a small family with kids in the extra room. Old school heater in the rooms, but since it was hot, it wasn't needed. Air conditioner included and worked great, thank goodness given the heat wave that came through. There were also some extra restrooms in the hallways if needed. Overall, cool place to visit and learn about some history of the building and area.

I had the honor of staying at the iconic Hotel Coolidge and it had all the intricate beauty of an historic hotel. From the welcoming feel of the fire place and cozy chairs and art work. Judith the front desk management at hotel Coolidge is such an amazing human being that truly goes above and beyond for the customers. She assisted me with bags because I’m a disabled Army Veteran. She let me know the history of the hotel because I love history and architecture. She showed me where the elevator was so I didn’t struggle with the stairs. My room had everything I needed. It had a tv, fridge, heater, bathroom warm covers. The room was clean and great water pressure and hot water. What more could you ask for. I sleeped well and the hotel is located by everything. I truly enjoyed my time and I will be back. It was everything I needed. Thank you for everything Mo Edu

The room was a nice size and very clean; simple but adequately furnished with a feel of the era of the hotel. The staff was friendly, enthusiastic and responsive. This is an old, historic hotel and to quote a review I read before booking - "if you are looking for a standard chain hotel, the Coolidge is not for you." It has character, the result of over 100 years of sheltering travelers. Stay at the Coolidge with a mind open to the gentle aging of decades.

Loved the historic details of hotel. Welcoming fire and Christmas tree in lobby. Beautiful downtown location and the Tuckerbox restaurant next door was outstanding.

Oh my goodness, I really can't rate you because we haven't stayed with you yet, but reading your responses to some of the reviews there is no question we will fight for the last room! My friend will call today. "Mr. Grumpypants": I've never laughed so loud in my life.

We enjoyed our stay here. The building was historic and had character. The room was simple but comfortable. The A/C was nice and cold and I slept great on the bed. It was also only a short drive to Woodstock, Quechee, Lebanon and Hanover. We were able to see and do many things from this central location.

The room we were assigned had some missing/flaking enamel in the bath/shower. It was not a cleanliness issue, but just something to note. Otherwise awesome stay.

This hotel was the best thing to ever happen to White River Junction. The location is P E R F E C T, and its close to C&S pizza walking distance, cute shopping stores right downstairs, a candy shop around the corner, and anything else you could think of. I stayed here with my friend on a trip and we were greeted so kindly by the clerk at the desk Andrew. Amazing staff, great coffee in the morning, and the best part is the cozy atmosphere. The carpets, couches, and fireplace set the tone for this historical gem. The rooms were sweet and simple, and the walls and banister glowed with character and charm. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quiet town to catch up with old friends and feel the mystical charm. Clean beds, warm heaters, excellent smelling soaps. Best hotel I've been to. Thank you, Hotel Coolidge.

Very hospitable and friendly. Rooms are on the small side but price was reasonable. Old building but clean and in good shape. The location is perfect with many places in walking distance for food and drinks.

It was a beautiful, charming and a little quirky hotel. The rooms were slightly different from each other that just added to the charm. I had 2 adjoining rooms with a Jack and Jill bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and the staff very friendly. I would absolutely come back and stay at this hotel again.

Classic 80s rooms it seems. Very antique and rustic indeed. Lovely construction design! Delicious coffee chai and tea served although no breakfast. I'd say this is well worth the price and the place has a fairly cool air to it. Hint hint it's in the name.

Amazing place to stay at a decent price. Bonus morning food voucher to two different local spots that I wasn't expecting. Super helpful staff, safe area. Walking distance to cocktails at Wolf Tree, Turkish grub at Tuckerbox and great boutique shopping. Slight Stephen King vibes, but that's part of its antique charm. If you want a hotel with character and charm vs. a cookie cutter corporate one, stay here.

Sorry I delayed my departure to take advantage of the $4.50 food coupon, having no idea a smoothie would cost $9.50 and the attendant wouldn’t accept it for snacks she had laying on the counter.

We held my daughter's baby shower here in the Vermont Room and it was amazing. We were treated like royalty, the food was delicious and plentiful, and we had the most amazing time! My daughter, her husband and a few friends from out of town stayed the night and we're very happy with the accomodations. I can highly recommend this historic hotel in the heart of White River Jct, VT. Will visit again to enjoy the rooms and the town!
