Valley Milkhouse

On whim the other day, my dad and I picked up three cheeses from the farm stand to serve at our holiday meal today. Oh, my goodness, how delightful a decision that was! The Thistle, a brie-style, was very delicious, either on it's own, or with a touch of honey. I'm excited to get this again, and see how it changes season to season. The ash-rind Witchgrass was a beautiful surprise! Rich, but bright and tart, it held up to strong flavors, like my homemade onion jam with citrus and peppercorns, perfectly. I can see an infinite number of serving possibilities for this one. The alpine tomme style Marigold went beautifully with dried fruit and toasted almonds, but I'm really looking forward to popping it under the broiler on toast tomorrow! I'm so very thrilled to have such skilled cheesemakers so close!

These folks have the finest cheeses, breads, fresh veggies, eggs among other things and the best butter and sour cream ever when it's available. All grown, raised and prepared from local people, even purchased a loaf of wheat bread made from wheat grown on the property. That's special!

Just tried Chickweed and love it! It is absolutely creamy and delicious!

Cheeses are excellent. Hay Creek Bread delish. Beautiful country setting. I recommend a visit.

The cheese, bread, and mixed greens were all phenomenal! A must see if you live in Berks County or if you are just traveling through. I will be back often!

This place is a hidden gem!
It is as organic and real as you can get.
Everything sold is what was made THAT day.

Tried the witchgrass cheese and the lady slippers. So good! Looking forward to my next trip out that ways.
