My husband and I had our wedding at the 1824 House Inn + Barn in June '23 and we couldn't be happier with the experience! We had a small 17 person wedding where everyone stayed at the Inn. Having everyone in one place made it extra fun and we got to really spend quality time with our family who traveled for the occasion.

The Wedding:
Farrell was incredible to work with from the beginning. She provided all of the information we needed via email/calls and was always happy to answer our questions. It really made the whole wedding planning experience easy, which is a huge perk in my opinion.
On the day of, Farrell did a great job of coordinating everyone and keeping things running smoothly. The staff who helped at the event were all really wonderful too! The event space was beautiful and really came together well.
We also took advantage of the fire pits after dinner! Everyone had fun roasting marshmallows and catching up - it really made for a memorable and unique experience.

The Inn:
We loved the Inn! It was cute and the rooms were just what we needed. We were able to bring our dog and we had plenty of space in our room to set up his crate.
I honestly have to say that the best part of the Inn was Farrell's breakfast in the morning! The pancakes were a fan favorite and my siblings still talk about them.

Overall, I couldn't recommend the 1824 House Inn + Barn more for a wedding.

My husband and I honeymooned in Vermont and New Hampshire. We stayed at 1824 House + Inn to experience quaint Vermont life. We LOVED our stay here!! The location was perfect for exploring other areas of Vermont like Stowe, and was close enough but also far enough from the highway. Shaun and Farrell were fantastic hosts. Super personable while also respecting your space. The breakfasts they cook up are delicious! The room was cute and comfy, with unique historical character. I wish I could give our stay more stars!

My husband and I enjoyed our weekend stay with Sean and Farrell at their beautiful 1824 House Inn + Barn. We booked two nights as we attended a family wedding not too far from the Inn. Our check-in was smooth, and the hosts were very communicative with a informative text the day of arrival. The Bennington room we stayed in was perfect for us. The room was cozy and very clean, and the bathroom was perfect for us. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable, and we were able to get some rest after our long trip. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious! Omelets with goat cheese and asparagus and another with kale, bacon and cheese. My husband loved the eggs Benedict. Locally made bread and the perfect coffee made for a great start to each of our days. The inn is a picturesque New England farmhouse and just what we hoped for when we booked our stay.

Thank you, Sean and Farrell! We had a wonderful stay and recommended you to our family in the area. If we are ever up there again, we will definitely plan another stay.

We loved every thing about our stay at the 1824 house. From the room with an amazing meadow view (Caledonia), to the friendly dogs, to the private swimming hole for “happy hour”, to the delicious made to order breakfasts, to Sean and Farrell’s comfortable friendly style. We had a riverside cook out one night which I highly recommend if you are lucky enough to be there when they offer it. Everything comes from local farms and it was delicious! We found the people of the Mad River Valley to be warm and friendly as well. The hiking and natural beauty of the area is top notch and the inn was the perfect home base for our 4 days of exploring. There is a little bit of road noise during the day, but perfect silence at night. If you are lucky enough to get a room, book it!

What a great place to stay. The room was great and the service was amazing. Sean and Farrell have created a wonderfully modern B&B. They strike a great balance between being super helpful yet staying out of your way and letting you enjoy your time in the area. The breakfast was great and had a nice variety so that you are never in danger of growing tired of having the same thing every morning. The two house dogs are awesome to have hanging around the place. We would most definitely stay here again if in the area.

The Inn was very accommodating in putting together an occasion for 20 of us to have dinner together one evening. Not all dining places in the Valley can handle large groups; but they did, with friendliness and efficiency. Not to mention their lovely dining facility. Thank you.

We were so lucky to find the 1824 Inn and have been able to stay there a few times as our home away from home. We always feel welcome and look forward to staying there again.

Beautiful Vermont B&B. Highly recommended. Accommodations lovely, just right. Comfortable, clean, & beautiful. Great hosts. Delicious breakfasts! Dogs on site made us laugh and helped with not having our dog with us!

We've hosted our annual Leadership meeting at 1824 the past 3 years. We love coming here each year because of what incredible hosts Farrell and Sean are, and it's a central location that's easy for our team to get to (locals & those flying into BTV). All the spaces are so comfortable including the cozy barn for our meetings and meals, and the food is so amazing. We all enjoy the path along the river across the street, the friendly pups and evenings around the firepit. I'd highly recommend 1824 for any corporate event like ours - you will immediately start to unwind, focus and start counting down the days until you can go back.

What a wonderful Inn and wedding venue. I attended a family wedding where we stayed at the Inn for the weekend. Such a relaxing environment. The bedrooms are comfy and cozy right down to the comfort of the mattress. I highly recommend.

Had a great stay at the 1824 house! My partner and I made the trip up for a few nights, we stayed in the Caledonia room which was great to have french doors that gave an incredible view to the grounds and private patio. The room was nicely updated and warm and cozy. The owners were kind and welcoming, and went above and beyond for us when we were in need and didn't bat an eye. It was nice to have a home cooked breakfast in the dining room each morning.

We will stay again when we are in the area!

A beautiful inn with a delicious breakfast and comfortable rooms, the 1824 House has acres to explore and a cute deck and fire pit seating behind the house. Dinner at a local restaurant made our 1 night stay perfect. The barn is ideal for events or parties, the dogs are adorable, and the owners are friendly and accommodating.

Our stay at the bed and breakfast was lovely! The hosts were so welcoming and accommodating— we felt very comfortable. The room was immaculate and the linens were fluffy and soft. The breakfast was the best part— fresh and tasty with a friendly smile from the hosts. The shower was a little tight for my 6’2” husband (we were in the Chittenden room) so if you are coming with someone taller I would recommend choosing another room. The location was quiet and picturesque countryside. Would definitely stay again if in the area!
