Some steep down and up from the parking area, but mostly flat terrain once you get into the main area. Nice 4+ mile hike is to take the Orange trail all the way around to the Blue, then Blue winds back and forth to the Red, then more winding around to where it crosses the Green, then Green back to the Orange and back to the parking area. Lots of options!

Some really nice trails but they are not always clearly marked. Be sure to wear orange during hunting season. This seems like a popular place for hunting. There are a variety of habitats including hardwood forests, an almost pure stand of Eastern red cedar, and Meadows. There are a couple of creeks that traverse the preserve as well. Be sure to download the trail map from njtrails.com as they no longer have maps at the preserve.

Yellow trail runs close to the creek, for the most part surprisingly quiet, not hugely overgrown, and quite beautiful. I found the (unofficial?) entrance / exit behind Frenchtown Villa Apartments (opposite Lovin' Oven) useful.

Orange and red trails cut into the forest, are quieter, more overgrown, and not as easy to follow. But getting lost in the forest is a treat anyhow.

Great morning hiking the yellow and red trails. Reached 10k steps. Now one else was there this Saturday morning, great for covid-phobic hikers. Coming back for the Yellow and blue trail another day.

Great gem of a trail center. Can get overgrown quickly though.

It’s a nice place but need a little bit of meanings, El lugar está bonito no está muy grande pero si tiene muchos caminos para recorrer ya sea a pie buen bicicleta eso si pienso que el lugar le hace falta un poco de mantenimiento,Lo uso mucho para ir a buscar hongos Chanterelles ,oysters y otros
