OOKA Restaurant Bar . Sushi .Hibachi

Had another great meal at OOKA Sushi! The staff here is always so nice and the vibe is just right for a relaxed dinner. I'm always amazed by the variety on the menu – they've got something for everyone and they're super accommodating with dietary needs. Plus, it's cool that you can bring your own bottle for a $25 cork fee, though their bar is great too. Definitely coming back!

Came here for my daughter’s birthday. Overall our experience was great! I got the filet mignon hibachi. The filet mignon, omg….so tender and juicy. Everything I ate was delicious. Even after eating everything I did not feel sluggish or full after like I usually would (a good sign they use cleaner ingredients.) 2 of my daughters got the chicken hibachi which they enjoyed. The bday girl got the filet mignon/calamari hibachi. She loved the steak, she said the calamari was just ok: pretty chewy. My fiancé got the filet mignon/chicken hibachi. He loved it, he wished he got all steak (it was soooo good!) my stepdaughter got the kids chicken hibachi. She is a very picky eater…and even she loved the steak and chicken! She even ate the rice and noodles and enjoyed the sauces! We were shocked. Waitress was attentive snd nice. The chef was nice and included my stepdaughter in the experience. Would definitely come back! 😊

Went for an early dinner with my family. Enjoyed the Salmon tasting sashimi which was excellent. Best salmon I've ever tasted. Service was excellent. Noticed quite a bit of dirt and dust on the divider between the bar area and host station. How can you miss this?

Ooka never let’s us down. Once you go inside you forget your on 309… you could be downtown or in NY. The Lychee Cosmo is amazing . The staff makes great suggestions and the food is delicious. The Sake selection is really good as well. We find ourselves at Ooka at least 6 or more times a year.

Ooka and I have a love/hate relationship. It's popular in the area and I also frequent their other nearby location.

What I don't like about Ooka is that it takes some time to find the specialty rolls for you. I do not think any of them lack imagination or flavor, they just don't all check the boxes of my personal palette. Some places you go and every one of the specialty rolls on the menu are awesome in their own right.

With that out of the way, what I love about Ooka. They don't actually try to cater to everyone with each and every one of their specialty rolls. The attempt that some places make at mass appeal leans into keeping things simple or unimaginative. Ooka plays into its strengths and ensures they have something for everyone, but not everything is for everyone. This is good.
Their fish quality and freshness is excellent. Selection is above par for being outside the city (Philly) and they consistently bring in market price fish which I appreciate, being one that hunts for Uni on the menu and my first question is if they have it and where its from. Same goes for toro / otoro / chutoro but secondary to Uni, for me.

Today I had rolls, app and 2pc sushi that checked all my boxes. I was extremely satisfied with the food and service on a quiet lunch hour to myself.

I ordered:
- Spicy tuna tacos
- Lobster dynamite
- CB West roll
- Crispy spicy salmon roll
- Uni, from Maine (seasonal item)
Rolls listed in photo top to bottom. CB West and Crispy salmon were a tied for top choice with Lobster dynamite being a close 2nd and the waiter's personal favorite.

Food was good, STEAK was GREAT.

We had a very pleasant dining experience in this place today , both my wife and my son loved the sushi rolls here , especially the shrimp tempura roll ! however some of the sashimi fish I ordered didn’t meet my expectation, overall this is a pretty cozy restaurant and we will come back !

The dumplings were very good, however the sushi was a little bland. I had requested to add the spicy mayo inside the rolls but they were just layered on top.

This is my review from the last 5 times, "Something is happening here. I don't recommend take-out anymore from this location. The last five times, the same thing, portions are smaller, freshness granted can never be as good as in person, but there have been errors and the preparation just seems to be off. At both in store and online pickup, there's less special options than there used to be and the menu seems to be smaller too." It's still a great option, but, for the price, there are others in the region doing a little more for the customer, in my opinion.'

Parking is limited since the business next door is Leslie’s Pool Supplies and they don’t allow diners parking in their space.
Food is always delicious and worth the price. Staff is always pleasant and attentive.
Seating is more than spacious for each table.
Hibachi chefs are absolutely skilled with their tricks while preparing your food. I always recommend this place to everyone.

This was my first time at Ooka and it was amazing! Our waiter was great and able to suggest dishes & drinks that complimented each other. We had a couple different sushi rolls and appetizers. My favorite was the Chilean Sea Bass app, it wasn't on the menu that night but we saw it at another table and it was some of the best Sea Bass I've ever had. Cooked so perfectly, it just melted away when we ate it. We will certainly be back to try other dishes and the hibachi!

Great place for a hibachi meal. I’ve been here several times and the food is fresh and consistently delicious! A great place for family and friends to sit around the grill and watch the magic of your meals being prepared. The chefs are entertaining and we have loads of fun - and great food!

This was our first time at Ooka and we decided to go since my son crushes California rolls.
Our server was amazing and walked us through the menu. The service was excellent and very friendly. But more importantly the food was delicious. We stuck with what we know and got Makis which did not disappoint and the spicy shrimp appetizer was a great way to balance some hot and cold.
Overall a little on the pricey side so we won't be regulars, but it'll be a great spot to go on occasion for a special treat.

We had a large party and they were extremely accommodating. The food was delicious and the servers were great. I’ll definitely recommend this place to others.

What a nice date experience we had here. Food was excellent. Service hit the mark, and the cocktails didn't disappoint either. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great dinner experience. The lemon creme brulee at the end was an unexpected delicious way to conclude it all.
