We had a great experience for our first visit to the Devil's Acre Tavern. We set a reservation on open table, which was not needed. This German influenced tavern has a good beer menu and an interesting selection of appetizers and entrees. Our excellent service was provided by Rhea. On her recommendation we tried the Kielbasa Dip - a completely new appetizer for us. Great smokey flavor and good texture on the grilled bread rounds. We also tried the softer then expected Pretzel Bites with Beer Cheese. For our entrees we had the Pork Schnitzel and the Braised Short Ribs. The short ribs were beyond amazing. A must try. The bacon jam on the top of the Schnitzel was a nice change from the traditional toppings. Dessert was a shared serving of Bananas Foster bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. Even if the meal had been substandard I would return just to eat that dessert again. Great experience and well worth checking out.

Stepping into Devil's Acre Tavern is like taking a thrilling step back in time to the roaring '20s! Nestled in Plumsteadville, this gem of a restaurant pays a fantastic homage to its namesake—the notorious Devil's Acre on the Delaware Canal Towpath along the Delaware River. Known for its spirited (pun intended!) history during the Prohibition era, where it buzzed with illegal speakeasies and was a haven for the adventurous, this spot truly captures that rebel spirit!

From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is utterly captivating. The artwork is a nod to the Prohibition days, with subtle hints of mischief and revelry that truly enrich the dining experience. It's not just about aesthetics; the food here is a serious affair. Each dish is bursting with flavor, perfectly cooked and presented with a flair that complements its historic theme.

Service at Devil's Acre Tavern is just as impressive as its menu and decor. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready with a recommendation to ensure your meal is memorable. It's clear they take pride in both the history and the food they serve, making every visitor feel like a local.

Whether you're a Bucks County native or just passing through, make sure to stop at Devil's Acre Tavern. It's more than just a meal; it's a vibrant celebration of history, art, and community spirit wrapped up in a delightful culinary experience. A definite must-visit for anyone looking to spice up their dining routine!

Cool menu and a very updated and modern interior design!

Kielbasa dip was stupendous. I also enjoyed my reuben sandwich (pictured).
Look forward to coming back.

The deviled eggs were the perfect start to my meal, and the pork schnitzel was absolutely delicious. The restaurant has such a great atmosphere, and the staff were all so friendly and attentive. I also love that Devil's Acre Tavern offers a mix of American fare and German flair, with items like schnitzel, sausages, pierogies, and spatzle. Plus, their beer list is fantastic, featuring both German and American craft beers.

If you're looking for “quality food and fine liquids”, this is the spot to be!

We are here all the time. GREAT food and the only place I've been able to find actual German beer. They have an interesting cocktail menu including their versions of a traditional radler. The staff is great, it's very chill, and there is trivia on Tuesdays! 👍🏻 Try the garlic parm fries!! And the pierogi.

Little slice of Bavaria. Seriously, can’t believe we didn’t know such good German food was right around the corner. What gives! And they have beer from a brewery in Auying, Germany that’s a must. Go there, and I’ll see you there.

This place has great burgers, great sides (tots are my fave), great beer on tap, and great atmosphere inside. It's another reason to laugh at the eateries in Doylestown borough. You won't be disappointed with this place.

Great menu of American and German food. Kids loved the burgers and hot dogs. German sausages and kraut were delicious!! Kids mac and cheese was some of the best we've ever had! Thick cut french fries were great. Fantastic craft beer menu as well! Great service and a pleasant outdoor space to top it off. One of our best dining experiences in a long time.

Our first meal here! Each wurst on my husbands platter had a distinctive flavor. The sauerkraut is aromatic with mustard seed and very flavorful. My onion soup was delicious and the green salad with poppyseed dressing and blue cheese, fresh, crisp and satisfying! The house merlot and Downeaster IPA, went well with our selections. The staff is friendly, efficient and accommodating!

The food was excellent, hard to find high quality german food around. The service was a little slow given the place was maybe half full, but otherwise everything was great.

The bar area was a bit loud, but it was a Friday night so it’s expected. The food was absolutely amazing. The kielbasa dip was delicious and the bread it was served with was to die for. My husband said it was the best Reuben sandwich he ever had.

Excellent authentic German faire, lovely wait staff. We stopped with a party of 6 seated us quickly. Helped make a 5 yo feel special. The short ribs were perfect!

What a gem. It’s rare to find a spot in doylestown where great food matches the high energy atmosphere. Kudos to the amazing pork Shnitzel and short rib goulash. Reminds me a lot of restaurants in Vermont where there’s a casual vibe but the food standards remain very high. I judge a place by how often I would go and can easily say this would be a twice a month spot.

Devil’s Acre & Maxwell’s on Main (MOMs) are owned by the same people, and they are two of my favorite places to frequent in Doylestown. Both establishments are excellent for sit down casual dining. I like the Devil’s acre for its German inspired faire. The selections of German beer on tap are great, and they have wonderful cocktails (we had a house old fashioned & the full acre Bloody Mary and both were very good)

I usually keep it simple and get either the 4 links platter or the hot dog. The steak fries are some of my favorites. The pub pretzels, kielbasa dip & wings are can’t miss appetizers.

Whether you’re celebrating an occasion or you’re just in the mood for good German inspired food, this restaurant is worth patronizing if you’re in or near the Doylestown area. Prost!

Great affordable place with a menu not filled with fried foods. Kielbasa spread was great. First time this weekend I tried the crab cakes, they were great.

The food is great. Some German selections. They didn't have a selection of cider, but did have a couple good IPA's.
