Ripton Country Store

The owners are fantastic and friendly people. They make you feel as if you’ve known them for years. Highly recommend.

What a great store. Excellent selection of local foods, goods, and wine. This store is a must for anyone traveling in the Middlebury area of Vermont.

Super sweet stop that has everything you want in a rural country store. Places like this are why I love living in Vermont. Greeted with a smile, quaint but thorough selections, and there was a sweet little dog to greet me when I walked in. Good selection of local honey and maple syrup - they even had the robust grade - when you can't get the actual grade B anymore, this is the next best thing. Keep doing what you're doing.

Quirky store with everything from pantry essentials to great wine to locally made gifts. It was a treat to visit.

Shockingly authentic country store with bonus local stuff like fresh greens, bread, and eggs. A must stop and run by really nice Vermonters.

Great little place. Quaint and charming. Despite the pump being out of the 70s it does work. Worth a stop just for the building.

Stopped in while passing through because it seemed like a cool old country store. It certainly gives you the sense of stepping back in time. The female owner working the counter was very polite.

I didnt buy anything as I was in a bit of a time crunch on the schedule but appreciate the historical value of the business and building and a throw back to when things were simpler and frankly better in many ways compared to the way things happen in our modern times.

Nice old fashioned store.

huge selection for any store, much less one as small (but charming) as this one still has penny candy and knives for sale, as well as books by local authors

When I stepped into this country store I was thrown back to my childhood. Eva and Gary are very welcoming and have thought of items just about anyone might need. I love that places like this still exist.

I lived in Ripton one summer a while back. The General Store is a wonderful spot. Post office, maple syrup, and a freezer of iec out front to fill you're cooler with!

Journey back in time just by stepping inside the door. Being a “Baby Boomer”, stepping inside the door of that small Country Store tucked in the foothills of the Green Mountains of Ripton, Vermont brought instant childhood memories front and center. Walking through the “Time Portal” to my left I saw an old fashioned array of postal boxes, to my right was a counter with an kind and gentle soul stooped over with a warm smile. Next to him was an old fashioned crank operated cash register. The decor was similar to what you would see in the old TV show “The Walton’s” at Ike Godsy’s store. Do yourself a favor. Step Back in Time and see for yourself where Time has stood still.

A store with character and charisma. The owners have maintained the store as a center of the community incorporating groceries, beer, wine and post office under one roof. Gas is available.

Wonderful store — always stop by on the way back from the bowl for their ginger beer.

This is your archetypical Vermont country store. With a warm feeling and plenty to look at and purchase. Definitely worth the stop.
