Windber Rec Center Playground

A great place for walking the pups and Jake loves the dog parks

We love Windber rec. We take our dog to the park walking n to the dog park. Very safe and clean and friendly.

Came here for a family gathering and had a blast. Facilities are always clean and taken care of. Great spot for a pool/picnic day. Also with the playground, basketball and volleyball courts there’s plenty of room for everyone.

We love this place.. got our family season passes. It's great for the kids and has splash pad and play ground outside the pool area.. some trails .. it's so nice.. and a dog park!

Windber Rec, as we call it, has the only swimming area nearby. Families flock to the pool during the summer heat. There are areas to skateboard, T-ball for children during the season. Its's a safe place to walk, run or ride bikes. There is a tennis court for teens to use. The woods are are a lovely touch with the old, old trees still present. Small wildlife scurry by as you sit on one of the many picnic tables and benches. Deer can be seen lingering in the further back woods very early in the mornings. A cool breeze flows through there creating a cooler, shady place than in town. There are two dog parks, one for large, one for small with the appropriate doggie bags right there, in case you forgot. There are bathrooms available, during the summer months. They are locked during cold months. There are pavilions to rent for parties and free for lunch when it isn't busy. There are directions through the park and one time around the outside equals a mile for those keeping mind of laps. There was a Grand Pavilion and Dance Hall. That was used long ago for music and dance, kitchen functions and a lovely fall cooking area for October when the face painting, pumpkin making and hay rides begin, while taking in the leaves changing colors. It's been a source of joy. It has something for everyone. A large indoor pool for cool seasons would be a great addition for bringing others to the area and serving the community. Wink, wink, I'd love to see an indoor pool there. Oh, I forgot, there is ample parking as well. Stop by.

This place is great! The facilities are clean. The pavilion areas are very nice too. It is nice that everything is easily accessible and the road around the park is well taken care of. It was awesome to see the entire Windber Rec busy today. The pool was full and all the pavilion areas were booming. Very nice place!

This place is a nice clean park which pavilion and picnic sites that can be rented for parties and gathering. This location is equipped with a secure pool and staff to protect participating guest which costs money to get in

Great dog park in the old softball field! Lots of room to run. Don’t forget to bring water for the dog though, no spigot on site

So relaxing. The pool area is good for all ages. Perfect place for a birthday party, graduation party, or family reunion. They even have an area for dogs.

Great place to go for everything recreational. We enjoy the dog park and all its wonderful people. You know who you are😉. Windber at its finest once again.

Big park with a lot of features. Has a pool, skate park, jungle gym and walking trails. I didn't make it through the whole park so I'm not sure what else there was, but I will be back to explore more.

Great pool, will be even better after the updates. The pavillions are also well kept. Playground could use an update too.

I took my dog here for the dog park. It is very nice and I love the nature trails as well.

I go here once in awhile to take my pup to the dog park... It's fun for both of us.

Clean safe and fun,ample parking and a dog park... the swimming pool is the best.
