One of the best places around! Food is delicious yet inexpensive. They have a variety of dishes and the staff is GREAT!

I appreciated a separate entrance to the restaurant seating area. In the old days that would have been called the ladies entrance. As a woman you would know you could use that door and not have to walk through the bar to sit down and order dinner. Not marked that way(sexist?)but nice to have to use. Food was very good and reasonable. Our waitress was fast and efficient and also fun to interact with. Atmosphere and decor like a Cheers friendly bar. We'll be back.

I went into the Phoenix twice by myself for lunch. The food was excellent. They were engaging and made me feel welcome even though I was by myself.

Dave and his family have taken such great care of this building. It's no longer smoking which I am okay with as a former smoker, but the original vintage ashtrays are still in pristine condition in the bathrooms brings back the nostalgia of my 20s 😂😂😂 thanks again Dave

The most amazing with me and my daughter being diagnosed with celiac disease. They killed it with not having cross contamination. And not charge super extra for GF food.

I just love their Chicken Balls! I never have room for dessert when I get to eat there so I get gob cake to go. You have to try it. 😍😍. Today I got banana cake. ❤❤

If you want a restaurant where you can taste the love put into the cooking. This is your place. Every single solitary appetizer, entree, and dessert is beyond good.

They truly bring something special to Johnstown with the food that they make.

I found this tavern based on Google reviews while traveling through the area. Glad we stopped. My husband loves the chicken balls at Thunder in the Valley - but we didn't realize that this is the restaurant that makes them. I had a bunless loaded bacon double cheeseburger - very good. They had a good selection of entrees and sandwiches. The servers were very friendly and kept our iced tea glasses filled and the prices were good. We'll definitely return.

Wonderful experience. The food was delicious. My wife and I both got pizza and the homemade sauce was great (regular red sauce and white pizza). The service was extremely good. The atmosphere was pleasant. It’s evident the owners care about their customers and the quality of the food. We will be back!

We stopped and talked to the owner on a slow day. A nice guy with a obvious pride in his business. Well worth the stop. If it's in the Christmas season stop for a hot chocolate with a shot of one of many liquors. Mine tasted like a Peppermint Patty and my wife's with chambord was awesome.

Our server was really pleasant . She was very helpful giving input of the menu how it is prepared and she made sure we were enjoying the food and she made sure to check back throughout our meal.

Food and service was absolutely fantastic! The staff was so friendly and personable and made the experience so nice. The food tasted wonderful and the wait was non-existent. Will definitely come back if we're ever in Johnstown again!

Excellent food, clean and friendly atmosphere.

This is the number one place to go in Johnstown. I went for lunch and the food was awesome. I got the southwest chicken wrap on a spinach tortilla. It was delicious! I will definitely be coming back.
