We went, spur of the moment in a Saturday. 1st floor was very educational and interesting. You can follow the life of an immigrant and learn what they had to endure on the journey. We took my grandkids (ages 4 and 1), and they LOVED the 2nd floor. It's filled with tons for kids to do. Fun while still educational. The air conditioning was out of order on the 1st floor, but worked on the 2nd- so we survived!! Lol!

Great interactive museum/exhibit that explains the History of Johnstown and people who came from over seas to live there and start a new life. Lots of fun and has a play room for kids on the 3rd floor.

A wonderful experience for both adults and children.

The first two floors are for historical purposes on immigrants stories who came to America, many parts interactive.

The third floor was perfect for kids with a building area, water play area, deck garden, mining coal area with indoor slide, career area, sound board, kitchen and store areas as well.

Fourth and fifth floor for adults.

This place is huge and has so much to see! It is so well done and each exhibit is interesting and interactive. There are so many things for kids to do of all ages. If I loved nearby, I'd definitely make multiple visits to be able to explore everything!

This place was super cool and fun for the kids. They have a gift shop as you walk in then you can tour the immigrant stories or go the 3rd floor where they have tons & tons of different things for kids to do. They have a kitchen area they can play kitchen and pretend to grocery shop and check out at the register. They can go thru a pretend coal mine that then takes them down a slide. There are water like tables there so an extra change of clothes might be helpful . Kids can put on a fashion show and walk a runway. We highly recommend going and checking it out.

1st floor is a museum focused on immigrants, the 3rd floor is the children's museum. Not too much on the 2nd floor right now. In another building near the entrance is the steel mill section with an educational movie.

What a fantastic place! Great history of the area (not just flood related). Interactive tour on the first floor. 2nd floor has past and present information on Johnstown. And the 3rd floor is incredible children's place. So many different rooms each with a different theme. Our boys loved it (7 & 3).

It's a great little museum of local history. Things for everyone. The 5 floors are packed with different things of the area. The 3rd floor is the childrens area. With playing area and a slide. A water table for kids to discover about the Dams. And a little runway for the kids to play dress up.

A very well done center. The depiction of life in the late 1800s/early 1900s was well done and very informative. The individual ID card idea is brilliant. That concept has incredible potential for AR. The Steel Mill exhibit is outstanding too. If you have younger children, there is also one of the nicest kids areas I've seen anywhere.

The interactive children's museum was a big hit with my oldest granddaughter. (Here are her Aunt Margaret and my granddaughter I'm the kitchen area.)

Great place for children to use their imagination. There is a water play area, slide, large kitchen/store area, sound booth, dress up, and building blocks. You can have a children's party here or rent out for another event. Great place for field trip.

The Children's Floor is staffed by some of the kindest and most enthusiastic individuals you will ever meet. It is a great place for imaginative play. They just added a new imaginative play section where kids can pretend to be dentists, vets, beauticians, florists, firefighters, coal miners, scientists, and other professions. Their play kitchen and store are well stocked with goodies to keep little ones entertained. There is a section where kids can experiment with plumbing and construct a dam using different materials. The coal mine slide is well executed and a lot of fun too!

***People using mobility aids, like walkers or wheelchairs, and strollers may want to call ahead. Elevator has been undergoing repairs off and on. When we recently went it was out of order.****

Attended the Johnstown Area Heritage Polacek Family Johnstown Slavic Festival. Enjoyed great food and drinks, but most of all enjoyed all the music and dancing. It is such a wonderful event allowing people of all ages to experience traditions.

It was also great to be able to experience the history of Johnstown and the steel and coal industry.

A terrific venue for events of all sizes (complete with a Museum!) in the heart of one of America's Historical Steel Towns. If you're staying or passing through, spend some time getting an introduction to what it takes to build a Nation. Facilities available for conferences, presentations and gatherings too!

Wow! So much to explore that we didn't have time for on our short visit. We'll be back for sure! Loads of hands on learning and fun for my 2 boys of 7 and 10 years old!
