I’m glad our sons is back open after all these. Years . Everything was great .

I saw the gruff service other reviewers spoke of. Not sure what's up with that.
Luckily the food shone bright and put my wife and I in a good mood.
People seem to agree that the tone doesn't spoil the experience because the place was 80% full. The place is festooned with homey kitsch feel-good Americana. I dig that.

The home fries are soft potato disks, with some crisp portions. Largely unseasoned. You'll want to hit them with salt and pepper.

Coffee was good. No complaints.
My wife said the scrapple was okay. But, you can't get scrapple very many places, so it's nice to see some variety in your menu like this.

The happy part I wrote this review for was the sausage and cheese omelette. Surprisingly generous portion of sausage wrapped inside. A hearty breakfast at a compelling price.

I used my rye toast to make a little sandwich with some of it. Can recommend.

I wish it weren't hours from my home. I'd stop back for sure. I'd definitely want to try their chicken someday. If I head up to Pittsburgh, maybe I'll see if Our Sons is a tolerable detour. My guess is they have more gold on their menu waiting to be found.

We were in town for an event. Sunday we just searched breakfast near us and found this gem. Once seated we saw the awards, the counter of deserts, and then experienced the food and house backed italian bread. If/when I'm in johnstown, I'll go back.

I ordered the 21 piece chicken n 6 rolls to go. Phoned Saturday morning on phone with Sue who was so kind for 1100am pick-up for Sunday morning. After our church service walked in a minute a so before 1100 chicken just came out of fryer wrapped hot ready to puck-up. Sue rang me up and again was kind and gracious. The chicken was delicious and the rolls soft and fresh . Thank you

Fantastic family owned restaurant! The chicken is simply the best around and the breakfasts are exceptional. I never had a bad experience!

We ate here once and were so impressed. We live about 1hr 45 min away. I got the best fried chicken dinner. My husband felt the same about his rib. Dinner. On sunday it was fathers day and our 46 anniversary. I requested to eat here again. But the trip was not suited for the whole family so we called and ordered to go. Got 2 whole ribs and 37 piece fried chicken dinner. Our family of 11 ate hardy when we got home. Everything was wonderfull lots of left overs. Cost only 82.00 . Even with gas prices it was a all out win. Loved everything and service.

The service was very good food was just as good I'm so glad they are open for breakfast prices is very reasonable we will be back

I've been wanting to try this place for years. We were on our way home from Boscov's and needed to eat. We stopped in and had their fried chicken and it is the best you'll ever eat. No pre-fried chicken sitting under a heat lamp, took 20 min to get our order but it was it was fried fresh.
It doesn't get any better than that. Very tasty and skin nice and crispy. Will definitely be back.

It's kind of a quaint hole in the wall place but those are always the best. We got the fried chicken which was super juicy and flavorful and the half rack of ribs which were just phenomenal and fall off the bone tender. The portions are very generous and the prices are pretty good too. Highly recommend.

This place has the best chicken in town!!! KFC doesn't stand a chance against Our Sons family Restaurant period. I mean dont get me wrong I do like me a little KFC, But come on now you wouldn't rather eat a home cooked meal? Ever since KFC changed the mashed potato recipe it hasn't been the same. Plus the atmosphere here is way better than any KFC!!! I've ordered their fried chicken and mashed potatoes and it was a blessing. Yeah sometimes you have to wait a lil bit and yeah sometimes they mess your order up but hey who dosen't in the restaurant business?? And when they do people complain like fools nobody's perfect. I would absolutely recommend this place. There's a reason they have been around Johnstown forever, while everyone only lasts a few years

Enjoyed breakfast, homemade bread is FANTASTIC and gobs were very good. Reasonable prices and good service. Can't wait to try their fried chicken I hear they are famous for.

It's a great place to eat. We had the chicken and ribs. What we learned while we were there tho was that the restaurant is not receiving or getting paid for anything that is being ordered online. Go ahead n call them and make sure .

We are soooooo glad they reopened for breakfast! Tey it if you never have.

I ordered the fried fish and it was beyond delicious. My wife got chicken and ribs. Amazing! The staff was very friendly and the food cam quick. We also ordered an 8 piece of chicken to go so we could share the experience with our kids and roommate back home. Definitely going again. Looking forward to trying more of their menu.

Wonderful local owned business. We make the 45min drive for their chicken. It is the best I have found since we have moved to this side of PA. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. It takes awhile for the food to come but that is because it is made to order not sitting like you will see at other places. I have never had a bad meal here! My hubby loves their ribs my son likes their perogies and coleslaw. Service is great can not complain.

I had shepherds pie and Mac and cheese and both were very good. It's nice to have home cooking that you didn't cook. And the servers Tiffany and Melissa were great. Very nice and easy to talk to. This was my first time back there in 20+ years and I'll definitely be going back.

I can now say that I FOUND AMAZING FRIED CHICKEN.. A sit down and shut up and eat meal. And a Pennsylvania famous GOB Pie😉

They have the best wings per your dollar in terms of quantity. The flavor is always full and rich and the chicken is perfectly cooked. Love this place, make it your next lunch destination.
