The entire staff at Simple Alternative provided an excellent service during a difficult time. Everyone was beyond compassionate and understanding from start to finish. Not once during the entire process had I felt rushed, and the directors had gone out of their way to meet our special requests. You could tell they genuinely cared and wanted to help make everything seamless. The chapel is beautiful with a very modern touch. The funeral costs were simple and very straightforward. Everything was thoroughly explained in detail. During this tough time, this staff is what you need when you are dealing with an unexpected death in the family.

I attended a viewing recently for a close friend and I could not believe how beautiful and accommodating the funeral home was. The last time I attended a funeral at one of the other funeral homes in town there was no parking, the funeral home was very outdated and the staff was not near as friendly. Everyone in attendance noticed the attention to detail, the comforting environment throughout-especially the hospitality suite downstairs which provided a place for friends and family to relax and regroup during a stressful time. I can not say enough good things about my experience at Simple Alternatives, truly a first rate operation, and it is apparent they take great pride in what they do.

I would recommend this business to any of my friends/family. Very helpful during the whole process, making a trying time just a little bit easier.

They helped my mother to make all of her final arrangements well ahead of time so that there wouldn't be a burden on the family. When the time came, she didn't want a service or anyone making a fuss over her, which would have been difficult as there were already COVID-19 restrictions in place. They kept me informed of every step, from cremation and the creation of her obituary to the interment of her ashes. They helped my family get through a difficult time and I highly recommend their services.

Simple Alternatives made my family's loss an easy process to manage. The staff was very kind and everyone that we experienced was helpful and kept our family's best interest in mind. Recently my grandmother passed away in Arizona. We needed to have her brought back to the area for burial and have a service with our family here in Pa. After calling around the staff at Simple Alternatives was exactly what we needed to get through this difficult time. Their caring staff helped me arrange a lovely service. My grandmother was a very faithful person and this unique location was a beautifully renovated church with all the modern upgrades and conveniences one could ask for, especially the multiple TV's where my Gram's pictures were being displayed to soft comforting music. Simple Alternatives Funeral Home and Crematory in Windber, PA are exceptional in every way and have the finest staff I have ever crossed paths with in my lifetime. My brother David Belic passed away June 13,2020 in Somerset Pennsylvania. I live in FL and from afar it was difficult to make his funeral cremation arrangements. I made many calls to local Funeral Homes in the area and did not feel comfortable with any of them. Thankfully, I found Simple Alternatives. Within hours they had my brother in their care. They communicated via email with all necessary details. I cannot thank them enough for the quality of care extended to my brother David and for giving me rest and peace of mind.

Normally when I walk into a funeral home, I get the feeling that someone has been hustled by the funeral industrial complex. Not the case here. Bright. Warm. Modern. Welcoming. Wonderful set up for slide shows and so forth. My only criticism is the parking. Not much. Rather tight. I hope some day they can pave the grass next to it, assuming they own it. Forward together. Not one step back.

This is a wonderful place. They treat you like family. They did everything we asked for and more. I would highly recommend them.

Simple Alternatives Funeral Home was thorough and caring. I am not from the area and they handled everything for my sister’s cremation.
