Rix Roofing Reviews

Rix Roofing did our most recent roof replacement. Great professional job. Done in timely manner. Reasonable pricing. Very trustworthy. Had him also replace a piece of siding that had blown off the upper part of our eaves on our siding. Did a great job in matching and went the extra step in making sure I was completely satisfied.

Retuned my calls. Gave me an estimate. Fit the job in quickly. I asked Rick to help me fix my roof in an unconventional method and he delivered, no more leaks.

I feel really bad for having to write this review, but it is truly merited at this point. We had actually used the company before for a small job and had been satisfied with the work. I think they did a very good job. But here's where the one star comes from.I had called them back about doing a larger roofing job and the woman who handles the dispatching of estimators and the scheduling of work told us they were running behind because of the pandemic. This was completely understandable. I was patient and would only leave messages every three weeks or so asking for an update. I was repeatedly told an estimator would be out shortly. This turned out not to be true. After several months had passed, I received a call informing me that they were "no longer taking new jobs." I found this suspicious and had my cousin who lives in another part of town with higher end mortgages call. The same woman told him that she would have an estimator out that very week and the job would be done in 4-5 weeks. He heard her consult with someone in the room to confirm that date. When he then asked her why she had told me (less than twenty-four hours earlier) they were not taking new work, she began spluttering in that anxious way people do when they are lying to your face and said, "Well, we just hired someone today and there's no telling when we would have got to you for the work." He told her he knew exactly when they would have gotten to him on that job since she had just told him with no caveats "4-5 weeks." So he asked her if it was some sort of redlining issue and she just hung up the phone. I want to stress that on the last job I made immediate payment in full and that I never had any exchanges other than two or three words like "hello" and "goodbye" with the workmen. I did not presume to oversee their work and trusted them to do their work their way and was happy with the job they did. I don't know why this company lied to me but I really resent the time of mine they wasted. I have saved the schedulers's last recorded message and even in that you can hear how sketchy her excuse sounds and how hollow her apology for having wasted several months of my time sounds. I'm not sure if this was redlining or some other form of discrimination but this is a great object lesson for how discrimination hurts everyone involved, even the discriminator. Because in the past I had actually been recommending their business to other people wholeheartedly. Now I will warn people to avoid this business. If you are an ethnic minority or any other minority, I would doubly advise you to steer clear of this sketchy business who lies right to you and wastes your valuable time.
