I've had the unfortunate experience of dealing with quite a few funeral homes over the years. This was the first time I've experienced Matincheks. I cannot express enough how wonderful the experience was. Bethany was very thorough and made the whole process very simple and that gave us time to deal with everything else. Zach was also on hand and he too was very personable and professional. I will recommend Matincheks to anyone who asks. Their patience, kindness and understanding has superceded any of those I have dealt with beforehand at other funeral homes.

Very happy with the services from Matinchek. Zac was professional, courteous, responsive & flexible & made our unexpected, quick trip from TX, as painless as he could. Highly recommend.

I used them based on the recommendation of a friend. They were the only place around that cared more about helping her than they did having all of the money up front. Zach is amazing, family oriented, and really understands and sympathizes with people. He is sure a salesman but someone to help you through a terrible time with the best wishes of you and your loved ones in mind. The money wasn't even discussed until after all arrangements were made, and he helped my family and I through a very difficult time. I highly recommend.

My mother passed away recently, a few months after my father passed. I was numb, wasn't sure what to do. I contacted Matinchek because of their reputation. I now understand why. Zach sensed my distress, and handled everything for me. He made it painless. He is very professional, and knows what he's doing, but the compassion and the kindness was something I will never forget. He made a very difficult time a little easier. Thank you.

Zac and Ken were very accommodating to our expedient timeline, cultural service and technical requests. They talked us thru thoroughly next steps during a difficult time. Really appreciate their efforts.

I had my fathers service there and I can’t even put into words how they comforted me and how professional they were and they were very welcoming to everyone even the kids we had a lot of kids attend also and they didn’t make us feel like that was an issue at all. I love them and the way they treated us so much! Very thankful!

When my father was diagnosed with a terminal illness, my sister contacted Matinchek and Daughter to arrange for his cremation when he passed. Upon his passing, we contacted them to finalize the arrangements. Paula was very rude and told me many times that they were very busy with six other funerals. After telling her several times who I was (on several different phone calls) she asked me how I was related to my father. When we discussed a brief viewing prior to cremation, she told me I needed to rent a casket, which had not been mentioned up to that point. When I questioned it, she asked "Well what did you expect us to put him in?" Because it was not an official public viewing, I was not going to rent a casket for $750. After several strange and very insensitve comments I asked if I could speak with her father because I was not happy with the way she was treating me, in a very sensitive time of loss. She said he was not available. She never apologized for her comment about what to put him in. She told me that I needed to come in to discuss all the options we wanted, so I asked her if I could come in the next day. She said she was looking through her book and didn't have anything. So I asked about that same day. She said whatever I wanted. Later she referred to me coming in the next day, and I said I was confused because she told me she didn't have anything available. she told me that I misunderstood her that she didn't have anything scheduled so I could come in. but instead of saying that she was sorry for not being clear, she blamed me. This lady seriously does not belong in an industry where people need compassion and comfort. She had zero. Then her father called my sister, and my sister told him to call me, I was taking care of the arrangements now. He called me but never apologized for his daughter's attitude. He then called my sister again the next day, to which she replied again to call me. He didn't call, but rather emailed me. he told my sister that his daughter was not aware of what he had discussed with my sister, but never apologized for the confusion.

I don't understand how they stay in this business. You cannot treat grieving people like this. You shouldn't treat anyone like this! I felt like I was interrupting and bothering them every time I called. And they reminded me so many times that they were so busy right now, and didn't know when they would get to my dad's services. He made it sound like a chore to get permission to bury my father in a veteran cemetery. They were not not even nice, let alone accommodating or comforting. I would not recommend this funeral home to anyone! They should take some classes on human interaction and customer service.

We had a terrible experience with Matinchek Funeral Home...professional enough but so sloppy. They spelled my dad’s name wrong on the funeral cards (even though they got it right for the newspaper). Then, they used double-sided tape to put a cross, that was ordered, on my father’s urn. It then kept falling off during the service. So, looking at the urn during the service, there was just four little pieces of double-sided tape. It looked so tacky and cheap! We also had ordered an urn ring through the funeral home. It was never delivered. They also said someone would show up the day of the memorial as a curtesy. That never happened. I hate complaining but they made a very difficult day even that more difficult. They didn’t charge us for the urn ring but we had to live with the other mistakes. Please go somewhere else! Just too many mistakes and all I got were excuses when I called to complain.
