I am in advocating for great customer service and I always like to embrace it.
Drove from Pittsburgh NH recommend by one of the locals and said Black Bear was good.
Drove 20 min and boy was worth the drive. Got seated right away and welcomed by Lisa our waitress. Lisa greeted us with a big smile and asked us where we were from and right away offered us drinks and also made recommendations about the food. My friend Matthew who is a big foodie like me asked Lisa about chicken wings and burgers she told her what was the best and we weren’t disappointed.
More than happy with the food, but most of this review is to embrace Lisa, who was amazing, customer oriented, friendly, well spoken and a lot of fun. She is a great asset to your business.
Please let her know about how great she was and we will be back again and have her helping us again and I will recommend this place to all my friends that come here every year.

We tried this place after receiving a tip from Yelp and we're very glad we did! Best mashed potatoes I've ever eaten in my life✌ everything was top notch...our poor server was out straight dealing with a table of 18 plus us and 3 other tables. We felt bad but left her a well deserved tip! ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ We visited a second time and are happy to say that everything was just as good as the first time we visited! The Steak, meatloaf, Patriot burger and shrimp scampi were all incredible!! Highly recommend this little gem in the north country!

Pretty good service and food! My brother and I was rolling for the second day in a row since 7h in the morning.. We came from 45min north of Montreal (Canada) .. We goes to mount Washington.. Portland.. And came back to Canada passing by Colebrook.. Tired and hungry's we found the Black Bear Tavern .. Super service, kind person .. We say Canadian are super kind but I know a lot of restaurants in Canada who's don't give that kind of service!! Really good food the maple burger really taste maple and I know what I'm talking about maple .. Good choice of beer ! The place to stop when you're passing by !!!

Best burger that I did not grill! Cooked perfect and high quality beef. Sirloin tips are also premium. Wait staff is always friendly and attentive. Don't leave Colebrook without stopping here!

We bought a place up in New Hampshire last year and we love the black bear food atmosphere. People are great and friendly. The staff is amazing. The cook is awesome. Can’t say enough good things.

This past weekend we held a baby shower at the Black Bear Tavern. From booking it last year, having tons of help picking the buffet, the chef was fabulous. The food was so delicious and staff friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful event for everyone…thank you!

What a gem. We've been on a two week road trip through NH and discovered the best place! We had lunch yesterday and the food and service exceeded our expectations. We went back for dinner tonight, had 5 star service (thank you, Cole) and a 5 star dinner. My husband had prime rib and I had stuffed haddock. Our dinners were exceptional. Our cocktails, perfectly made. One of the top 2 places we visited on our trip. Thank you Black Bear Tavern!

An excellent dining spot near the tip of New Hampshire. Came in July 2022 to celebrate my successful ascent of Mount Washington after getting away from the tourist crowds further south. Black Bear did not disappoint. I ordered a 1 lb Delmonico steak extra rare, and it was delicious. Devoured it very quickly. Service was excellent as well. Colebrook is not a tourist town, nor does it aim to be, but it does have food just as good if not better than that found in the many tourist traps about an hour south. Highly recommended.

Comfortable north woods atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. My new favorite poutine place too. My burger was cooked exactly right, not too rare not too cooked. It's not often a cook can get burger doneness right!

They are the best place in town and not just because there are so few options lol. The staff is very friendly and the food never disappoints. We were visiting from out of town for the week and came here 3 times!

The food is really good. Not your average, everyday selections. Sometimes it takes a while to get your food, but always worth the wait!

This place is about 30 minutes from my house but I try to visit on a regular basis as I love the food. It has that tavern feel with great food and terrific people.

We had dinner twice here while staying in Colebrook. The staff offered a warm welcome and the waitresses we're good fun. Fresh stuffed halibut one night was excellent and prime rib the other night came rare as requested. Super dessert options if you save room.

We were seated quickly at a private high top table. The service was prompt and polite and the food was great! Perfect for a quick bite while traveling or a casual date. We will be back!

It was our first time. It's very seldom I take pictures of what I am about to eat. We ordered the crabcakes. It was delicious. Baked breaded cod fish is the best. I never had steak Delmonico so I don't have anything to compare with. It was cooked perfectly.

Buffett before the eclipse was delicious! They were great with us and 2 young children.
