Food is always hot delicious and proportions challenge your capacity... !
Among many, one super dish I've had there is the braised pork shank.
They must have known a day in advance I was going to order this because, served on a luscious bed of mashed potatoes, the meat is so so tender!
Seasoned to perfection, it's plate looks like you can finish it, I just barely conquered it.
Fresh dinner salad and rolls accompanying the meal too.

I had takeout this time, the fried Haddock dinner came with fries also a side salad with roll, it's a great place to dine in too, love the atmosphere there, service is always top notch and the food is very good, something for everyone, there's also a bar on the other side of the restaurant and it's equipped with tables so you can order your meal from there and eat it in the bar area. In my opinion I think anyone would be happy with any of the menu selections, I've selected a few based on what I've had there.

Literally one of the best fish sandwiches I’ve ever had. Not the biggest but definitely one of the best! Nice place. Went on a Monday evening though so the atmosphere/crowd wasn’t at its peak

I was driving through the area and excitedly stopped for fresh lake perch. They unfortunately did not have any available, but my other options were far from disappointing.
I started with pretzel bites, and they came out hot and fluffy and were served with a tasty cheese sauce and a sweet horseradish sauce. Both were great.
After reading reviews, I tried the chicken and biscuits, which has so much flavor and is a huge portion that was enough for three meals. It came with a soup or salad, and the salad was fresh. The homemade balsamic vinaigrette was very good.
Finally, I got sweet potato fries as a side. They were good as well!

$53 easily covered two adults and two young children... For two meals each. The portions are extremely generous. However, they don't sacrifice quality is the dishes. The kids cheeseburger, Reuben, and chicken parmesan were all fabulous and the dishes covered entire to go containers. Now let's talk about the baked soft pretzel..... The thing was about $12.... And was the size of a small pizza! I would definitely only one order of sweet potato fries instead of those plus normal fries. The to go order was ready in 20 minutes on a Thursday at about 5p. If we ever are back in the area we would stop here again.

I love this local hot spot. Been alot of years since I've been able to go. Tonight it was a plan from my son who loves the rueben., to meet his girlfriend and daughter. I called to make sure no changes were made and no reservations needed. Short wait at door upon arriving. Got seated and seen a reserved table for alot. Got our drinks, then our orders in. Salads rolls and appetizers came, over an hour later, we received our meals. The table reserved was served their entire meals before ours. We were told many times it would be out and there was mix up in kitchen. I don't know how an entire table of at leat 14 got their food before 4 of us at 20 mins atheist apart ordering. The food was amazing. Great place to eat still. I hope next time is even better. P.s. best sweet tater fries in the world !

The atmosphere is light and family friendly on the left side and the bar has a chill neon vibe to the right. All tables to the left has two rows of seating. Row one can seat six at each table and the second row can seat four people, flexible to sit 16 plus parties also it's seat yourself with extra chairs if you need them! The menu is what drew us to the restaurant in the first place! It is an extensive menu! Gyros, fish, lasagna, you name it it's here! The sandwich I had was stacked high! At least two inches tall! The Veil was fantastic and you get two pieces with the Veil parm order! 100% will be coming back!

The best fried mushrooms anywhere in Erie. And I love the redesign of the place. Simple and more ergonomically friendly.
The pizza was not that good. Bland, tasteless and just blah !!! The sauce had no type of flavor, almost like a canned paste. Felt as if I was eating Saltine crackers, melted head cheese and regurgitated tomato paste from a hyena.
I am a bit disappointed that they stopped serving eggplant Parmesan. Being a vegetarian limits my choices of where I can eat. Maybe they will start serving it again.

The entire staff was amazing!!!! It was a Wednesday and extremely busy and we were going to turn around and leave as we had a group of 12 and they came right outside and had us come back in and seated us all. I forgot to add that have of our group was special needs!!!! The waitress helped the kids hooking them up to WiFi!!! Absolutely amazing experience!!! Thank you we love OAKWOOD Food and especially the stafff!! Food is always the bomb!!! Lots of love OAKWOOD!!!

2 of our party of 6 were not happy. Specifically asked for the soup to be served hot and it came to the table luke warm. The other asked for extra crispy bacon and it was rubbery. The server wasn't happy about it but at the end of our meal, she was better. As I said, my husband and I were very happy.

Best Reuben sandwich I've ever had! Many old fashioned meals are available like an open roast beef sandwich and gravy or chicken and biscuits.

My girlfriend and myself came to erie. To visit my dad at VA hospital. The nurse recommended we try this place. She stated best Reubens in erie so we both got a Reuben and we weren't disappointed. Great food and friendly waitress

McGarrey's Oakwood has been exceptional when it comes to accommodating our women/men's outings.

The service has been outstanding.

The variety, presentation, quality and quantity of foods is notable!

It was a great restaurant! Our waitress was very kind and helpful I had the spaghetti and French fries highly recommend

Very clean, beautiful interior.

Food was beyond good, for having a rather large, wide variety menu, everything came out perfect.

Our waitor was extremely friendly and greated/got our order going as soon as we came in.

This resturant has been feeding my family for years and has remained consistent. I will always find time to stop here.

Grew up 1/2 a block down the street. My dad would bring my brother and I with him almost every Friday night; while he sat at the bar my brother and I would sit at a table and consume mass quantities of snacks and sift drinks; it used to be called Coopers in the 60s and 70s and old man Cooper would chase us away if we tried to build snow forts in his pkg lot; I always stop in when I visit erie which is now very rarely; The food is very good and I almost always run into an old friend or acquaintance

Very good service. Waitress was very helpful and the food came out quick.
Place is clean and each table is protected.
You have to pay them a visit.

One of the true gems of Erie, McGarrey's serves up really tasty meals pretty darn quick. Staff has never disappointed only helps cement my stellar opinion on this place.

Y'all. This place is amazing. I had sausage stuffed zucchini, kiddo had chicken and fries, sweetie had mushroom swissburger. All good, even the ranch dressing is on point.
