Veterinarian was very attentive to Nugget and also quite thorough with the exam. I was pleased that the exam was truly complete, and the shots were given with a treat to distract Nugget from the vaccines and keep her calm. Great care and “bedside” manner!

Dr. Rob and the staff are fantastic. Ive had two dogs needing TPLO surgeries and the process although scary and stressful was great with Rutland staff there by our side. Great communication, great care of the animals, easy to make appointments, very easy recovery journeys with my own dogs, very reasonably priced for all their services and the overall atmosphere at the hospital is very friendly and helpful.

We have brought our Goldens to Rut Vet for their needs for over 40 years now. The care and attention provided to them has been wonderful, even in the sad times when one of them has passed on. Those are moments, in particular, when their owners appreciate a helping hand. We would not take our pets anywhere else.

We have two black labs and both look forward to their vet visits and are very excited to be there. Great vets and great pet care.

The beginning of October while on vacation in Vermont our beloved diabetic cat got sick. We called the clinic and they asked how long it would take us to get there. They greeted us at the door. The cat was diagnosed with a bladder infection and kidney failure. Needless to say the next day he was no better. We returned to discover that due to his diabetes and fighting the infection that he was experiencing acute keto acidosis- full blown kidney failure. The doctor stabilized him so we could return to Pennsylvania. Unfortunately he passed away 2 days later at home. This clinic sent us a sympathy card stating that they made a donation to an animal rescue in his honor. We are so blessed to have found a clinic to help us with such short notice & got our beloved cat home. Thank you to all that were involved in making his final days as comfortable as possible.

They took fantastic care of my Sisters beloved cat "Pete". He was cremated and they were very comforting and the crematory did a wonderfully beautiful job!
100% recommend.

We brought our little tripod APBT in with a mysterious swollen eye. He had to stay the night to have tests done and I was worried sick. The staff was caring, concerned, and very considerate. They went out of their way to keep me informed and involved every step of the way. They are also Fear Free Certified, which is a really big deal. We are very grateful for the Rutland Veterinary Clinic & Surgical Center!

The vet that saw Tanner (Dr. Macpherson) was very thorough and willing to answer all my questions. I was very worried but he gave me peace of mind. He is also getting another opinion about Tanners eye injury. We were there for a different issue (serious diarrhea) however he also took time to check out his eye. Tanner was very comfortable with the staff and the Vet and I believe it's because of how calm they are with animals.

The office is very clean as well. Every time I would bring Tanner to his previous vet he would end up with diarrhea within a couple days. It could be coincidence but I believe it's because the rooms aren't cleaned after each animal is seen. I ended up taking Tanner to Rutland Veteriany Clinic & Surgical Center because his vet wanted me to wait 4 days to bring him in when he had bloody diarrhea and I couldn't make him wait 4 days, especially during Christmas. I had just spent several hundred at that vet just a couple days prior and they wouldn't see us even when I begged them. Rutland Vet fit us in within a couple of hours. The receptionist I spoke to was very pleasant and respectful unlike what I've experienced at the other vet office. I was in tears and she helped calm me down. I believe her name was Aila (probably didn't spell it right). It's never pleasant when one of our fur babies is sick but this office truly helped me feel better and most importantly Tanner is feeling better than he was. He could still be better but we aren't racing down 3 flights of stairs multiple times during the night now and he still has more days of antibiotics so I'm sure he will be completely better by the end of his treatment!

Tanner will be seeing this vet from now on!! I'm willing to pay the little more for the better care they offer.

In all my life I’ve never had a more pleasant, comfortable and positive vet experience!!! Our vet Dr. Bachman and vet assistant Heather were so compassionate, loving and highly skilled in their visit with Mae, my 12 week old Catahoula puppy. Dr. Bachmann was very informative, patient, knowledgeable and made me feel equipped to make great healthy choices for Mae’s care. Mae loved both of them so much, she even cried when they left the exam room🥹. Thank you for being in the right profession, and giving me and Mae such great attention and care!!

New patient for a few months with our new pup and now transitioned our 10 year old dog to the clinic. So many positives: on time; compassionate; caring; thorough exams and superb communication . Our dogs have had wellness exams; lab work and surgery. We feel blessed by Rob and the staff; they are top notch and will do everything they can to make your animals feel loved abs welcomed.

A few months ago our 9 year old dog, Skylar, tore her ACL. We took her to our current local veterinarian who diagnosed her injury. Our veterinarian does not do that type of surgery and gave me a list of Veterinary Surgical Clinics that are able to do the surgery. I selected the Rutland Veterinary Surgical Clinic. I called them and made an appointment for an evaluation. We were advised not to feed her that morning prior to the appointment. Dr. Rob McPherson met with us and Skylar. He spent considerable time explaining what he would do in surgery and used a diagram. We left Skylar there for the surgery; The veterinary technician was so patient with me as I explained all of Skylar's quirks. The clinic called me immediately after the surgery to advise that everything went well. A huge relief. We picked Skylar up the next morning. A technician spent time with us going over the do's and don't's of her rehab with detailed printed instructions. We went back for stitch removal and about 6 weeks after the surgery went again for an X-ray. Dr. Rob was pleased with the progress and spent considerable time going over the X-ray with me. Maureen at the front desk is the ultimate multi-tasker and always friendly and professional. What an asset! In my long life with veterinary clinics I have never had a Dr. spend as much time with me explaining the surgery before and after as Dr. Rob did.. Every one of the employees was super. I more than highly recommend the Rutland Veterinary Clinic. They were wonderful and our Skylar is doing well.

*TRIGGER WARNING* - graphic dog injury photos.

Almost 3 weeks ago our dog Calvin was in a horrible dog fight. Because of his other health conditions, his skin is very weak and prone to injury. The photos speak for themselves. I thought we were going to have to do what every animal owner dreads.

It's no exaggeration when I say that the Rutland Veterinary Clinic & Surgical Center, saved his life. Dr. Rob Macpherson performed the surgery that required hundreds of stitches. He and his team went above and beyond to save Calvin's life - and I'm happy to report that Calvin is doing amazingly well.

I can't thank these amazing people enough for everything they have done to help both our boys. ( Those who know us know that both our dogs have had a litany of health issues. ) We've been to multiple vets in the area before switching to the clinic, and I'm so glad we did. I don't think any other vet could have saved Calvin's life, and we're forever grateful to this amazing team. 💙

Came here for a second opinion and what an amazing place this establishment is! Communication on point along with efficiency of my appointment. But most importantly the extra thoughtful care for my dog Tia, that Dr Macpherson showed really won my loyalty. It was a privilege to be seen by such quality people.

They were amazing. I have nothing bad to say about them whatsoever. They were there for me and my cat and made the visit as stress free as possible. I highly recommend using them if you live in the area.

We had to put our old girl down yesterday and they were wonderful with us. Super loving and kind, compassionate and very thorough. I will be going back to them for sure. Was very clean there, they're open late and even full day on Saturdays and have 6 vets on sight. They were incredible during our very difficult time. I highly recommend them!! Thank you all so much 🖤
