Point of Gap Overlook

Very nice views of the mountains and Delaware River can be observed from this point. There is no designated road crossing area from parking spot to the river, so need to be very caution. Also need to cross train rails. I don't know whether they arr active or not, but could to be active.
Also when going down after the rails, descent could be very steep which we faced last time (I believe rain washed lots of soil and made it steep).

I see people tubing or Kayaking or just picnicking. Very popularity spot.

Parking is free and plenty of parking.

Beautiful view, hawks flying over the mountains... the way the sunset looked on the fall colors. I went there for some peace, and pictures and I got the best of both.

Amazing Delaware River! Beautiful river scenery with something I have never seen before here: small icebergs (ice floes?) jammed against each other vertically. We were able to hike the surface out to the middle of the river.

The best of the three overlook sites on the PA side of the Gap in my opinion. Awesome views of Mt. Tammany and it’s rugged stretches of rock, and it’s just off the highway. There’s an elevated, circular viewing area where you can get some great pics (although they don’t come close to capturing the view in person). If you don’t want to do the hike up Mt. Tammany or kayak down the Delaware, this is probably the next best place to take in the spectacular view of the Gap.

Best hidden gem specially for people who don’t like to hike and spend some time for outdoor scenic view. Park the car, cross the road and the railway track simple walk.

Nice view from the Delaware River National Recreation Area. One road on the PA side of the park is currently closed due to a recent landslide but it should open in a week or two

Visited here this past weekend. Was puzzled about the overlook being on the "other" side of the road until I saw that the actual viewing area was accessed via a short paved trail up to a nice, elevated circular level. Great place for shots, especially if the weather lends some "atmosphere". :-)

For this view, you have to start the hike for Mt Tammany. Don't park at the spot which says point of gap overlook, there's nothing there. Mt Tammany trailhead has a separate parking. This view comes at around 25% of the overall 1.3 mile hike so no need to reach the top to see it.

Magnificent mountains any day of the year. The fog is mesmerizing and very easy to get to. Very worth it to stop by if you are in route 80.

611 is closed but you can drive down to point of gap for the view. You can't go any further than that cuz the road is actually blocked.

My family loves this pull off. We tend to come more in the fall and on days after it rained hard. The fall you get all the colors from the mountain side reflecting on the river and the face looks crazy. The days after heavy rains you get the low clouds that hug the water way and make for such great pictures. You'll also get the fog rolling just above the river which is so cool. My kids love the circular path to the gazebo and having picnics on the rock wall. A nice nature spot if you just want a break for a short bit. Even though you are near the road you never really pay attention to the cars. Parking is always available. Just please pick up your trash when you are done, keep these parks clean

Nice view won’t last forever lots are for sale up there in a few years it will be all houses.

Mt. Tammany is on fire, 70 acres , so sad you can see some flames from the road

The Delaware Water Gap is a gem!. Hike, Bike, Kayak, raft, fish......a good time to get back to nature from the hussle and bussle of life!!

Beautiful location to look at some of the hills and mountains and to see the Delaware River. From here, you could walk to the train tracks and take a few photos or you could walk directly to the water and take a look from there.

Nice quiet spot to stop and stretch your legs. Saw some people fishing. Will be stopping again ♥
