Big Pocono State Park

September 2023:
Nice free spot to get above it all and take a walk or hike. Plenty of free parking, bike parking and a few handicapped spots.

Nice paved walking route, or rocky dirt paths. Pick up a map at one of the kiosks.

Vault toilet restrooms. Women’s locks, Men’s does not.

Watch out for rattlesnakes! We ran into a guy who had just seen two.

BBQ grills and picnic tables aplenty.

Amazing views, fresh air, quiet and relaxing. Plenty of trails to hike or just sit on a bench and enjoy the view, the Blue mountains from Palmerton to New York State.

Such a beautiful place any time of year! We especially enjoy coming in the fall and seeing the leaves change in the valleys below.

The weather was perfect for hiking around Big Pocono- and the leaves were at peak (10/25/23). Great views of the Poconos and Delaware Water Gap.

Very nice views and you're getting good "bang for the buck" as its a pretty quick ride to the summit. There are some short walking trails at the summit.

Nice spot to eat lunch or have a short walk. People walking their dogs need to do a better job of picking up the poo left behind. Bathrooms were clean and no lanternflies!!

Beautiful park & ample parking. If you plan to walk around the top parking lot and check out the sites, sneakers would help. Lots close at sunset, and apparently, they close a gate. Bathrooms are pretty much filthy because people don't seem to clean up after themselves. There are also a couple of picnic tables.

Beautiful soothe place. Nice view. They should make a tower to see the distance Mountain View’s. Overall good

I've been to many, many, many parks in Pennsylvania. 2.2 million acres of public land and I'd like to see it all before I go. This park was absolutely gorgeous, and super nice. Enjoy the outdoors and you're in the air. You absolutely must up by. It was absolutely gorgeous.

It’s really nice place for picnic or taking pictures or just enjoying the view you have from top of the mountain. Also perfect for sunrise and sunset.

Amazing views, great trails, and never crowded. Highly recommend doing a full loop around the parking lots (there is a small paved road that goes around, and there were rarely cars on it).

Go there you will not be disappointed.

I called this *Babu Sir Top* coz it’s all the way top from approx 5 to 6000 feet high from ground.

The highest point at this place offers panoramic views. Was here at the early stages of fall colors and I believe when fall colors are in full display, this place looks amazing. There are some walking trails to enjoy while in the area. A place worth revisiting.

Best place to visit in any time of year and if you are here in fall season, views are amazing. Trails are great. Good amount of parking places and there are multiple of them. I counted total 4 of them. Also one more at parking at food court area. I have added few places like Indian trail head so people can easily find nearby parking area. I was confused when I was looking for them and I couldn't find in google. Hope that helps

Very nice state park. Clean. There are few trails. We didn't hike for long, because we heard some cracking branches sounds in the woods and run back to the parking area😂😂.
Nice views, clean air.
This place gets crowded in summer weekends. Lots people come to do picnics.
Wild raspberries grow here.

One of the best place to visit on fall season. But you can always visit on any season to this mountain top. An excellent view from the top, clean restrooms , ample car parking , a nice park bench setup to enjoy the view , couple of grill stands, well maintained road access.

Beautiful views with out having to hike.

It's all the way to the top , the road goes in a U shape ,where there are 2 or 3 areas to park ,the last parking is at the top.Then the road connects back heading back to the opposite direction you came from.There are trails and tracks to hike on.There is a cabin at the top and beautiful views.There is also a restroom 🚻 at the top.Be prepared and dress yourself with sneakers , something comfortable to walk through the trails in dirt , pebbles or stone.
