Sushi Hatsu

Very calm atmosphere and an upscale interior. The staff were very attentive and kept our water glasses filled. Our waitress noticed we did not bring alcohol (it is BYOB) and offered us complimentary rice wine. The sushi rolls were prepared quickly and very tasteful. They have a unique yet traditional selection of food, many items that you may not find at a typical sushi restaurant. The miso soup was the best I’d ever had!

5 star staff, food, atmosphere, prices, location😍 Can’t say enough good things about this place!! We were greeted with a huge warm welcome, treated like vegan royalty, and ended the night with a hot green tea - a great touch. What a great experience.

One of the best meals you’ll ever have in your life. Chef Harrison has absolutely perfected every dish on the menu and every dish has its own unique flavor profile and eating experience. Order a few plates for the table to share so everyone can try everything. Ask your server what they recommend and get blown away with what they bring. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

It’s an awesome place. Made reservations through their website and it was super easy. The thing that stood out was the level of attention to details from everyone. Every person had their role and our waitress was excellent. As you get seated they bring you a hot towel, you don’t het to see that anywhere anymore. It’s a nice touch. The food was great. I had my hesitation about the short rib empanadas but did not regret it. The pork belly buns were awesome too, it had a smokey quality which I wasn’t expecting and threw my palette for a spin in a good way. Rolls were great too. Don’t forget to BYOB!

Been waiting for a Sushi restaurant to come around to be loyal to, and I believe THIS IS IT! We started with the Miso Soup which is a heartier version than you are used to from your typical sushi place. Large mushrooms and mouthfuls of tofu. Super generous portion and quickly served. Spicy calamari was next and the tendrils were cooked to perfection. Pretty spicy if you are not into spice! Next we had the Coconut Garlic Lobster Tempura. Delicious but we didn't taste garlic AT ALL. Didn't change us enjoying it. We also tried the spicy tuna and the shrimp tempura rolls. Not pictured b/c we ate them too fast! Finished the meal with fried green tea ice cream that has a thin layer of pound cake under the tempura batter! Deliciousness everywhere. Our server, Karen, was super pleasant and helpful. Stylish restaurant with comfortable seating. Looking forward to coming back many times. Make a reservation even on a week night :)

Wow! Don’t waste your time going anywhere else for sushi but Sushi Hatsu. Plus it is BYOB!!
The quality of the fish is unbelievably fresh and tastes as though it just came from the sea. I highly recommend starting with the chefs special sashimi or sushi selection to sample their staple fish and special fish of the day. The menu is incredibly fun and you can try dishes you won’t find anywhere else like the “surf and turf” which is a role with tempura fried lobster and thin strips of beef on top. The quality and texture of the fish in every dish is truly unbelievable and even the quality of the seaweed in the roles is to be marveled at. The seaweed is so soft you don’t have to struggle bitting it and the roles are filled with considerably more fish than rice. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality of the fish and it allows you to really explore the menu.
The staff here are some of the nicest people I have ever encountered in a restaurant. The lady at the front of the house was so charming and knowledgeable and made recommendations so that we could try the best from the menu. Our waiter was a lot of fun and joked with us and made us feel right at home. We were able to take our time and order more items while enjoying our wine since it is BYOB!! We even got to talk to the sushi chef as our table was close to the counter and he wanted to ensure we were enjoying our meal. You can watch them make the beautiful plates with such love.

Sushi hatsu is the freshest sushi and the vibes are immaculate! We always have an incredible night and love taking new friends to have the best dining experience. Top 10 sushi spots I have ever been to and the quality is 10/10 everytime. Thank you Sushi Hatsu!

Excellent Japanese restaurant with lovely and talented owners/chefs and staff. Lived in Japan for many years. The quality of the food here is exceptional. We will be back!

The food was amazing. The service was over the top - the waitress and chef came over to discuss our dietary restrictions and marked off on a menu what we could eat. What a great place. 110% recommend!

Very creative menu and tasty. We were blown away! Carpaccio, roasted chestnut soup, short rib empanada, toothfish and green tea panna cota are must try!

I've been eating Sushi for over 30 years. This place is the best yet. The quality and the presentation can't be beat. I plan on making this spot my regular Sushi place. Can't wait for the next time.

Each preparation we tasted was unique and delicious. We focused on Chef's specials and we sampled some standards, both exceeded expectations by leaps and bounds. Next visit- omakase. The service was delightful. The staff checked all the boxes and helped to complete an exceptional experience. We will be back soon.

Amazing service, very friendly, great atmosphere and delicious sushi. They offer hot and cold appetizers, wanted to try them all. A selection ok n of hot small plates and unique signature rolls. This is my new sushi go to place. And its BYOB, which I love too.

Chef Harrison is a great man and an amazing chef who has curated a delicious menu! Highly recommend going to Sushi Hatsu.

Such creative and delicious food. Went there twice and have LOVED it both times. The owner even comes out and speaks with the guests and the dishes he’s created.

The food at Sushi Hatsu was stunning and delicious. They have such a creative and unique menu- you can really tell the amount of thought and care that goes into each dish and component. My favorite two dishes were the Amberjack carpaccio and the Korean short rib empanadas. The flavor combination on the carpaccio was so unexpected, and yet very well balanced. Just an exciting bite of food.

In addition to the meal, we also had excellent service. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!

This place is untouchable for sushi and gives restaurants in the city a run for their money - in Ambler of all places. Go for the Omakase if you can get a seat, worth every penny. Presentation, flavor and service are all 10/10.

By far the best sushi in PA. Been eating sushi in Philadelphia for 10 years and have yet to have anything better than Hatsu. The quality and taste are unreal. Reasonable prices for top level fish. Comparable sushi to NYC/LA hotspots

This place deserves a higher rating because every time I go in there I'm always blown away! They make the most subtle ingredients explode with flavor!

We will be coming back! This place is a big city sushi restaurant in tiny Ambler. They pay attention to details and buy premium ingredients! If you want a great sushi place for a night out or just craving sushi, this is the place to go.
