Dr. Munish K. Shastri, MD

I have had Dr Shastri as a primary physician for over 15 years and he is fantastic. I'm sorry others didn't experience this but he has always been patient with me, always takes the time to explain his thoughts and has been a great listener. His nurses have always helped with scripts and refills without issue. I am grateful to Dr Shastri for his care and looking out for me - thank you!

The best physician I have ever dealt with in ct over the 26 years that I have been here you great work will be miss! I hope that you'll have a long and healthy life in whatever career path that life takes you.

Dr Shastri help me through the worst time ever and I'm forever grateful to be guided by the health care for over 20 years

He's probably not the best for younger people trying to be proactive. My mother goes to him all the time and says great things, so he seems good for more middle aged people. However from my experience, if you're in your 20's and look generally healthy on the outside he won't really take any worries you have seriously and will send you on your way.

Do not waste your time with Dr. Shastri!

My sister went today, May 2, 2022 at 1:15pm, to an appointment with this provider because her previous healthcare provider, a Nurse Practitioner from ProHealth in Southington, CT left the practice. She just needed an interval increase from once a day to twice a day on Cymbalta (a medication that had helped her to relieve pain from Fibromyalgia).

Dr. Shastri, after asking some questions, told her that Cymbalta is not a pain medication and she did not have Fibromyalgia (a diagnosis received after many tests were done to rule out other conditions by her NP). He also mentioned that her previous provider was "just a nurse, not a doctor."
Regarding her diagnosis of Lymphedema (diagnosed by a vascular specialist), he said that she didn’t have that either. He told her, “You are just FAT.”

Reluctantly, he did make the change she requested. But, he was arrogant and condescending towards my sister and her previous provider (even though she was from the same practice, just a different location). She left his office feeling intimidated, angry, and frustrated.

In healthcare there is no room for arrogance, narcissism or condescension from egotistical medical providers. Please don’t let this happen to you!

Don’t come here. The office staff is the absolute worst and they “forget” to call in scripts because they were “so busy”.
