Mexicali Cantina Grill

Mexicali is a lively spot on Cinco de Mayo and a wonderful place to enjoy TexMex food! The burritos are huge and delicious and the margaritas are perfectly balanced. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and helpful about items on the extensive menu and the service is very prompt! If you’re in the mood for Mexican give them a try, you won’t be disappointed oh and try to save room for dessert!! Sooo good!

8.20.23 Indoor and outdoor seating available. Lots of parking. Drinks and food came out fast, hot, and delicious. Margaritas were strong. The fresh guacamole with jalapeños was absolutely amazing with just the right about of kick. Service was great and overall we loved it.

Fantastic spot to stop for lunch or dinner! I only managed to get one picture because everything we had was great here! If you are in the area this is a great spot! Friendly service, fantastic food and not that expensive at all!

Yes, I came back here last night. Can't get enough. There were 12 of us food always amazing, and the owner is a great guy. Staff is wonderful. Try it out, you can't miss out on this fine Mexican place.

Excellent! We went at an off time & ordered our food to go. But still sat out on the patio & had a drink. Staff was very friendly & prompt! Had we know the service was so quick we would have eaten in.

The best service we've had. Had to ask for the manager to report how well the server took care of our table. Everything was excellent, big fan of the birria tacos and their spiciest salsa.

Roberto and his team time and time again prove why Mexicali is one of the best restaurants in CT. Consistent quality food and service every time I come here it doesn't matter what time of day it's always quick, delicious, and reasonably priced. Great for a date or a group night out. Don't miss it!

This was such a pleasant surprise! We've lived in the area awhile and have somehow not tried it before today. The Chile relleno and tamale with mole sauce were delicious, (it's hard to find a good Chile relleno or tamale in the area), the beans were tasty, as opposed to some of the extremely starchy & bland ones we've gotten other places locally. I'd definitely recommend getting a combination platter, enchilada platter, or house special platter because it's a lot of bang for your buck. My husband thought the burrito was only just ok. But it's served a la carte without any of the delicious sides, and I like getting a bunch of different flavors to try. The guacamole and queso were totally worth the add on. The spicy salsa was delicious. Very fresh, very quick service, and our server, Cade, was very attentive, friendly, professional, and pleasant. The cocktails were a little pricey, so we didn't try them this time. Very good place, excited to go again.

I feel the food is pretty authentic. The workers here from the hosts to the cooks, everyone is nice. Love it here.

We always enjoy our time at Mexicali. The first time we visited was a few years ago and we had a Groupon for dinner. Since that time we've been back quite a few times (sans Groupon lol). The food is delicious and you get a decent amount for the price. We are so pleased to see that their meatless options have increased as well.

Went here about a week ago on a Friday night. So first of the place will get busy. There definitly have a good amount of business coming through. I net up with a family member for dinner there. They give you fresh chips and salsa. And even have a habinero salsa if you want some heat. There both good. I got a pineapple mojito.... that was delicious... I would get that everytime. We got an appetizer. It was Tex-Mex Egg Rolls-Spinach chicken, corn, black beans, peppers, onions and melted cheese. Served with queso and guacamole. My family memeber got the Combo Dos

So I got the pork tamale, the beef burrito and the chicken enchilada. With the beans and rice....my God it was alot of food. I wasn't expecting a platter... lol and we did the Supreme option. So it comes with a side condiment of guacamole, Lettuce, Cheese, Pico de gallo. Needless to to say portions are large. So come hungry. The prices are good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a great experience. We had desert but complete forgot to take pics of it as I was in a food coma I will definitly be going back there again! Highly recommended!!👌

The food is not the mushy taco salad and beef taco you get from your favorite fast food place. It's on a whole other level. I could drink their salsa verde!!! The menu is diverse and offers different specials. Portions are hearty (the food and the booze). You will not leave hungry. The ambience is warm and welcoming. If you are thinking Mexican for dinner - go to MexiCali!!!!

The staff was unbelievably attentive and friendly, everyone from the hosted to the waiter to the boss boy were helpful and jumped at whatever we need it. The guacamole was incredibly delicious.

The food was delicious, service was very quick and professional. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for delicious Mexican food and quality service.
