I've been going to this hardware store since buying my home. They're simply one of the best hardware stores in CT. Their knowledge and customer service is still stellar to this day. The reviews are understating how easy it is to get advice and simply deal with the staff at England's. Need something, just go in and ask.

The young gentleman who helped us with the log splitter was exceptional! He was very helpful and showing us how the machine works, very cheerful, and really knew what he was talking about! He also saved us some Heartache by mentioning the ball on the back of our truck was loose. Thank you so much for being such a great person!

A great family owned store with a great selection and personal service. I can find things here that None of the big box stores have and it's much faster to get in, out and back to the job. Shop local and help these smaller businesses not just survive but thrive.

Very convenient, has most things you'll find in the box store, helpful people, fair prices. I shop here first and the big box home stores only if I have to. Support a local family, not wall street investors.

Great people, selection, and prices - they regularly save me trips to a "big box" AND even though they're small, their prices are competitive or way better, even on automotive-type items. Often what I consider "obscure" items are stocked, and you can buy a single of whatever (nut, bolt, drill bit) rather than being forced to buy a set. Helpful staff. I only wish they stayed open later!

Great staff and large selection for a local hardware store. Also has a decent tool/machine rental area. Can be pricey for some items, cheaper for others, but worth the premium to avoid a trip to the big box stores.

Staff was prompt and helpful. Pickup and drop off were quick. Be prepared to back up if renting something on a trailer as driveway is long and narrow. Will rent here again when needed.
