I have to say, weather permitting, I often prefer patio dining, especially when it's Friday, and you have nothing better to do but unwind and take it slow. This is a good place for that. Service is attentive, drinks and food are good and parking is easy. I chose seafood today, and each dish was perfect for my liking. Always a good restaurant to return to.

(Last visited 9/11/2020.) It's a gorgeous late summer's day during a pandemic and we're looking for outdoor seating so that we feel safe. This place has a very big outdoor seating section so we're here to check it out!

Atmosphere/Appearance: Based right in "downtown" Wethersfield is this neighborhood gem. There is a private parking lot around the back of the restaurant, but if it's full there is plenty of street parking available, but be mindful of the times and meter rules. It's such a cute and well, home-y (I get homely and homey mixed up, but whichever word that means "feels like home") place. It just looks like a big house and when you're walking through it you get the same feeling.

Service: Chloe took excellent care of us. She was quick, enthusiastic, friendly, knowledgeable and made sure we got all of our happy hour orders in before the clock ran out. Lol.

Food: Wings are on the happy hour menu so that's my go-to! They offer 4 flavors (Honey D's BBQ, buffalo, teriyaki and jerk pineapple sauce) so we tried all 4. My favorite were the jerk pineapple. It was just different. It took me back to the Caribbean with a hint of spice and of course, that unique jerk flavor. My least favorite were teriyaki, but I figured they would because I'm just not a big fan of that type of sauce. The pitcher of their house sangria was delicious though and plenty strong!

Value: Pretty good in my opinion! A pitcher of sangria was $24.00 and it my memory serves me correctly, we got about 5-6 glasses out of it. Each order of wings was $6.00 and you get 6 wings per order. That averages to be about $1.00 a wing. Solid deal. You won't break your bank here, but you do pay for the quality of the food for sure.

In conclusion, I really liked this place and the surrounding area. After you're done eating you can take a nice walk around the neighborhood to work off some of the food.

My family and I had a wonderful experience on the beautiful, spacious patio. The food was excellent...The ribeye was tasty and the octopus was so flavorful and soft. The garlic bread with the cheese fondue is a unique menu item and not worth skipping. They weren't cheap with the lobster on the lobster roll. Great, attentive service. I will certainly be back!

Recently we had lunch here. A restaurant in a historical Victorian house itself is fascinating already. The setting of the restaurant provides an intimate and cozy vibe, as if we were invited to a private home. Although the selection during the lunch time was not large, the food all came out very delicious and flavorful. The service was super friendly and attentive. Will definitely come back, especially during the summer time to enjoy the patio dining experience.

Lucky Lou's has a fantastic atmosphere inside and outside. Went for lunch at 12:30 on a Tuesday and it was fairly crowded. .Service was quick and really friendly. Fish Tacos had great flavor. You only get 2, but the amount of fish in each was good enough. Tartar sauce and chipotle yogurt in the tacos is a perfect pairing to cod fish. Chicken Gyro was big size and tasted good. Not the same as a Lamb Gyro, but nonetheless was very good. Like everything else these days it was a bit pricey for lunch but the quality of food, service and atmosphere was all worth it.

Wanted to have lunch somewhere new. Who doesn't love downtown historical Wethersfield????? Pleasantly surprised. They open right at noon and when I arrived there was a line waiting for the opening. They got everyone seated quickly. Loved the patio which is quite large. Nice space between tables so you don't hear the conversation of the next table. I had the quacamole burger/medium. It was perfect. Fries were just right. They did have a nice bar menu but had ice tea. I had to still deal with clients after lunch on a Friday. I'll be back!

An amazing lunch with the puppy! The manger(?) sat us on the patio and with in 2 minutes our server brought us a bowl of ice water just for Luca. The cocktails were great and interesting. Food was even better! Meatballs are a must! Bonus they had a dog menu. We found our summer restaurant

We sat outside as the patio was set up to maintain social distancing. All the staff were very friendly, attentive, and engaging. The service, impeccable, and the food was just outstanding. One of those meals where you walk away completely full and your tastebuds won't be the same for hours! Totally recommend!

Very cool place for lunch. We were visiting UConn from Maryland and had our dog with us so this was an easy choice, even had a menu for dogs and a bowl of water. The food, Cod Burger, Pork Burrito, Chicken Tacos, and soup of the day were excellent. Would have loved to try the chili nachos. Service was excellent, super friendly, and fast. Maybe a little pricey, seemed like all options were about $20. Dog menu started at $5 and went up to $12 or so, chicken to steak. Nice selection of cocktails that were very good. We sat on the patio and walked the neighborhood after to see some of the historical sites. Worth a stop particularly with a dog. Short drive feom UConn, about 30 minutes and just outside of Hartford.

Never a complaint! The crew and particularly Lou are very friendly. Food is great. The best nachos ever and I’ve been around the block.
Patio dining is second to none. A must destination.

My husband and I had lunch at Lucky Lou's this past weekend and brought our dog with us. What drew us to this place is that they are dog friendly. We were given a bowl of water for our pup, as well as his very own menu for lunch! It was a beautiful Saturday, so the place was packed, but our waiter was very accommodating, keeping us updated, and checking in. The owner even sat with us to give our pup some love. A great experience and you can tell that the staff cares a lot about doing a good job and keeping their patrons happy. Would definitely go again!

Had a an awesome meal in outdoor area. It took more than 30 minutes to serve our first plate and I think that is normal here with the heavy crowd. Recommending for food lovers and definitely we will try it again.

Every chance I get, I make it a point to eat at Lucky Lou's Bar and Grill. The ambiance, cuisine, and team are all exceptional. Plus, they offer the finest patio seating in the area. It's an excellent spot for lunch, dinner, or just a couple of drinks.

We happened upon this town and Lou's Bar & Grill on our way home from Salem, MA and am so glad we did. The ambiance was awesome, the food was fantastic and our server was great. A bigger plus was how accommodating they were to our pups, offering them water bowls and even a doggie menu! What I presume was the owner came over multiple times to say hi, and they were more than welcomed there! Would absolutely love to come back and recommend everyone to come here who is in the area!

Food was delicious and the service was great. We always love to find interesting places to eat along our route on road trips. This was a nice find. My kids also love to taste interesting dishes, they had the octopus appetizer and CT lobster special. They loved it!

Nice place to grab lunch while in Old Wethersfield. Everyone was nice when we went here. The food was very good. We will definitely be going back here again at some point in time.
The area looks very quaint and picturesque...

Went with a small group for dinner. Staff friendly and nice atmosphere. Everyone loved their meals which were freshly prepared and served quickly. They accommodated a dairy free diet requirement without hesitation . Will return to try other selections!
