After desperately searching the area for a dog-friendly patio, we were beyond grateful to La Buvette for welcoming our well-behaved dog-ter. The hummus platter and fresh bread were fantastic and we /think/ vegan (be sure to ask about the bread). The salad was fresh and crispy!

Great place if you wanna feel fancy! The wine selection is great, and the food is fantastic. The bread is fantastic, and the hummus is sooooo good. The hot grilled sandwich is delicious, my friend described it as “tomato soup as a sandwich”. There are a couple vegetarian options on the menu!

I’ve been wanting to try this place out for over a year and finally did. Really enjoyed our time and it was decent enough weather to sit outside. We went on a weekday around 5pm so not busy and we were seated immediately.

We started off with the charcuterie board & it was delicious! We ended up going with the server’s recommendation for our main course and it was very good & flavorful. However, the meal that I did get felt like it was something I could make myself and didn’t think it was worth the price.

We still highly recommend for folks that have been wanting to check out and are looking for a date night or just want to grab an appetizer / wine. Super cute & really enjoyed the service. We’ll definitely be back again.

Always such a relaxing, satisfying meal at Buvette. Service is a delight, the wine is tasty and reasonably priced, food spot on, and ambiance takes you away from the Midwest, if only for a few hours.Such a jewel in the Omaha restaurant community!

Really great food, we had the homemade bread, market carrots, hummus, minestrone and crispy pork belly. All of these dishes had unique flavors and were well executed, strong chance Ill be back for more date nights!

Definitely one of my FAVORITE spots in Omaha - it’s a little piece of France 🇫🇷 in the Old Market!

It is ALWAYS busy and well worth waiting for!
It is a fantastic French experience that will flood you with memories if you’ve ever been!

The wine selection is amazing and the food is out of this world! From amazing charcuterie to the finest in French Cuisine!

The people watching under the covered and heated patio is simply wonderful!

And just like in France 🇫🇷 smoking is allowed on the patio!

🚨A couple of warnings
👉Seating is first come first served and unless you want the French attitude from your server please wait to sit until table is wiped off.

👉🚽 toilets are downstairs so if stairs are an issue - go before your visit!

La Buvette is a true Old Market staple. It is charming, peaceful, has wonderful food, great wine and amazing service. It is my go to place when downtown Omaha. I can honestly say that I love everything I have ever tried on their menu… which is a lot!

I've visited this restaurant a few times now and always had a good experience. The soups here are good and so is the hummus and bread. During this visit, I ordered the lamb shank and the potato-carrot-ginger soup and they were both delicious. Place is nice and quaint. The wine selection here is endless, so if wine is your thing, you're in the right spot. They also sell bottles of wine if you're interested in taking bottles home. The food does take some time to arrive but it is always fresh and delicious.

I've been here many times since. There are hits and Misses here depending on your order, but generally I love the atmosphere here.
Just a note for myself, I need to stop ordering the salad. It's not bad, it's just very vinegar forward when I was expecting more lemon.
I am upgrading this to a 5 star since I do recommend this as a place to go.

If you are looking for a super casual place
to hang out and drink some wine, this is the place.
A grocery store and wine bar combined located in the old market.

Corkage fee is 4.50 for a bottle.
Service was good to great depending on who you get.
There was an extraordinarily long wait time for our food yesterday.
Still, when you get it, the food is generally very good. Our main meals were excellent.

Bread service is free with the meal, but if you are just having wine, it will be 3.00.

The dessert had a bit more of a marshmallow texture than I expected for a Panna cotta. Was not a fan of the cookie that it came with.

The menu is refreshed daily, and the wine options are excellent. The service is friendly and respectable, approaching the table only as needed (i.e. neither bothersome nor leaving you hanging). Great patio! Would recommend

Love, love, love this place. Entrees change; menus are written daily, with a core standard menu with cheese & meat plates, salad and sandwich, etc. the daily menu items have always impressed. My most recent trip to Omaha I ate at La Buvette for both nights and had the Ragu Bianco that had a strong pepper finish, tender pork, hazelnuts, and sage. The wine selection by the glass is extensive and reasonably priced. They also offer a wide variety of bottle selections at retail that you may select to enjoy with your meal with a moderate corkage charge.

Very unique restaurant/wine bar in the old market. The food is always amazing and they have a large seasonal rotating menu. Food selections come with their in house fresh baked bread and it is so damn good. Very large wine selection as well.

Best restaurant experience in Omaha. Allows you to escape and feel like you are somewhere else.

La Buvette is one of the only restaurants I always love to return to. The menu is different every time I go and always unique and interesting. I generally go to different restaurants to try new things, but by going to La Buvette you will never have the same thing twice. It will always be one of the best restaurants in Omaha.

Excellent food and wonderful atmosphere! It's very busy there during the weekends, so me and my husband like to go there on the date during the week. I'm from Europe so it reminds of home. A very cozy place with excellent food and a big selection of beverages!

Amazing wine, food, and service!

My husband and I just moved to the area and we were on the hunt to find a wine bar and La Buvette is definitely going to be a place we go to often! The food was delicious, the wine selection was fantastic, and the service was absolutely wonderful. We had a waiter and a waitress check on us a couple of times and they both were always so friendly! We sat outside on the patio with our dog and really enjoyed our lunch there. The waitstaff was also super friendly about us having our dog with us on the patio and made it obvious that they were very dog friendly which I appreciate so much!

The potato soup was delicious but the fennel soup was *outstanding*!!!

I’m super excited that we’ve found such a cool spot to bring friends and family to when they come to visit.

Thank you La Buvette for being awesome!

La Buvette is a funny place - sometimes you’ll go and the wait is extremely long and the service is never that good - but the food is always solid and the prices are good. It’s also one of the only restaurants in Omaha that has a romantic vibe, making the issues with it part of its charm.

The greatest little enchanted corner of the Old Market in Omaha. We celebrated an amazing sequence of events here. We met some lovely ladies there. Our service was IMPECCABLE! Simon was the best! The food and ambiance took me back to Europe. The wine was a perfect pairing. It was a lovely experience & I think we have found our new Favorite Happy Food Face Place!!!🤤🤤🤩🤩🥰🥰🍾🥂🍽✨🎊🎉

My favorite Omaha restaurant.

I lived in Omaha for almost 25 years, and after all that time, La Buvette stands above all as my favorite restaurant. Even now that I've moved out of state, this is the one place I absolutely must visit whenever I'm in Omaha.

The most charming, old European decor hits you at the patio and continues into every nook and cranny inside. Hundreds of bottles of wine and spirits line the walls. The old, round table and squeaky chairs complete the experience. Even the hallway downstairs to the water closets is charming and quirky.

Yes, the service can be slow, but I believe that is somewhat intentional as it encourages the diner to slow down and actually enjoy the experience. However, as slow as it is, the service is also extraordinarily warm and kind and complete. The La Buvette experience is not designed to be rushed but enjoyed and savored. Do not come with the anticipation of a fast meal.

The food is so amazing. Many, many visits have expanded my concept of the world. I explain the menu as relaxed French, country food. Wonderfully prepared small plates, salads, decadent soups, and main courses fill the menu. Most times I go, our table is filled with plates and bowls, crammed all over the table, and we all share the food. Everyone trying each and every dish with exclamations of delight over each delicious new flavor and texture.

Last night was no exception as my group of friends (new and long time) met together and laughed and ate and drank for three hours. We celebrated my visit, told stories, and spent time remembering our dear friend Marea, who passed away this past year. Marea loved this place so much, I know she was watching over us last night.

La Buvette, I hope you never change. I'll be back in Omaha sometime soon (I hope) and I know I'll be back to enjoy the experience again.

Review update- go next door to their new deli, Mercer & Sons! What a great selection and maybe the first real deli to be in the Old Market. This is probably my favorite restaurant in all of Omaha it has the best vibe. A great place to go if you’re by yourself or with a group of friends and you want to waste the entire day eating and drinking wine - and feeling like you’re in Paris! Plus they have the most eclectic wine selection at the best price in town.
